If we were going for ambiance it wouldn't quit have gotten a 5 star :) but we knew we were not going somewhere upscale...but their reviews said the food was upscale at a reasonable price and they didn't disappoint. The servers were very friendly and helpful with food selections, the also attended to the table as needed. The food was phenomenal. We had 3 entrees and the combo appetizer platter and it was $67. That isn't bad. We brought back 4 to go boxes. We ordered medium spice, which was a tad much for me. It wasn't so hot I couldn't eat it but I should have asked for it to be taken down a notch. However sinuses are clear as well, so I'll just count that as a bonus :) Food was wonderful! Portions were huge! Servers were friendly and helpful! First time at Lanxang and look forward to the next! Large menu that boosts a great flavor profile. The medium spicy was perfect with just enough heat for our tastes. There were four of us and we were treated like family by everyone. We each had a different entree along with various appetizers. I ordered a Mee Krob Lard Na with choice of chicken. Super great flavor and interesting style! The soup is a little thick, which is one my favorite parts of it. Be careful when eating as it is really hot when served to the table! I saw many people come to pick up, while there are few people dining in, and this is more favorable for introverts lol. AMAZING service and food! This place is very clean and brings out your food so fast! I was dining in with my boyfriend and felt like I was right at home, the staff are so welcoming, attentive and kind. The pho is always perfect with a rich and flavorful broth, all the fresh toppings and the bowl is huge for the price. We decided to try the BBQ pork pad Thai this time and after over 20 years eating pad Thai from many different places, this is my new favorite ever and it's in town!! It's just THAT good and I day dream about this dish more that I'd like to admit lol They also have a super awesome appetizer sampler that gives you some chicken satay, egg rolls and crab rangoon that I feel like is the best for 2-3 people. I always get it now. Their Thai iced tea is what it's supposed to be. It's rich, not watered down and the same goes for their thai iced coffee. They even grabbed me a to go to take the rest with me. Delicious Thai place that recently opened up in town! I have been here a couple of times already and I can confidently say this place has the best FRIED RICE in town! They also serve "duck" in a lot dishes, which not many places in CU do. I always get the duck fried rice, which has a subtle, but impactful pepper taste to it. I find their fried rice so addicting. I also like how their fried rice is not too oily. All the dishes I have tried so far tasted flavorful and clean (everything tastes really fresh). They are never too heavy on my stomach, which I experience often with other Thai restaurant food. The owners are really sweet and friendly! Stopped by on the way home and it was early maybe 5pm. Me and my daughter the only ones there. Few people came in for pickup. She got the basil chicken I got the noodle soup with duck. A few pieces of shredded duck and basically pho soup with yellow noodles instead of pho noodles. Seems kind of basic. But.. it's GOOD. Had a taste of my daughters dish and it was good too. We got the beef jerky to go for my wife. I have a hard time finding this stuff. It's more of an appetizer but it comes with some rice and it's a great little nibbling snack. You might think the beef jerky is pricey for what it is but I'll get it cuz I just can't find it anywhere. Comes with a salty spicy fish sauce based sauce. I've never seen a restaurant ask people to leave even I said please give me five minutes let me quickly finish my food. We drove all the way from Bloomington to Champaign just for this food, but the people ask us to leave because they're closing. We stepped into the restaurant at 8 since we came here right after off work. They closes at 8:30 and I please them to wait until 8:40 to let me finish my food. I don't know how they were being so strict that I must leave, even though I haven't finished my food. I've never been so mad with a service like this even though we love the food here. I recently moved into this neighborhood and I'm really happy that there is a great Thai/Lao spot that I can walk to. My first couple meals were very very very tasty. I'm kinda picky about curry dishes, and I like how they do it here. And 4 egg rolls per order, I love it. Our new favorite! Their food is amazingly fresh. I had the green curry on my first visit. It was the best I have ever had and tasted as if it was made from scratch - without canned or powered curry mix for the base. My son got the yellow curry and husband got the garlic chicken and both were super yummy. We split an order of egg rolls which we all agreed were they best in town. It was so good that my husband and I went back a few days later on "date night". On the second visit, I ordered the chicken larb. Again, the best I've ever had. They do not skimp on fresh ingredients and that was evident with the larb which had fresh mint and cilantro, the perfect amount of lime juice and perfectly roasted rice powder on top! My husband ordered the basil chicken and really enjoyed it as well. And yes, we had to get an order of egg rolls. Then my son found out that we ate there without him! That meant another visit! This time we placed an order for carry out. I couldn't pass up the chicken larb and ordered it again. My son ordered the basil fried rice with chicken which he loved! The husband got the fried chicken this time. The online ordering process was easy and the food was ready at the time specified. All in all this is the best Thai food in town. Fresh, made from scratch. Nice portion sizes. Very reasonably priced. Family owned. Nice people. And you won't feel out of place dining-in wearing sweats! Be aware that the spice level is authentic! We like spice and typically get "4 pepper" or even "5 pepper" level at other places. Here the level of spiciness is based on Thai heat, not Midwesterner's perception of heat. I ordered a "3 pepper" level my first trip and then scaled it down to "1 pepper" level (which still has a kick of Thai pepper, not just a little black pepper). Once I told him that I was not going to come back, the owner had the audacity to tell me "You don't need to come back". Wow what an awesome new restaurant. This is probably the best Thai food in town, or at least tied with some of the higher end places. The thing that sets it apart is the price and casual atmosphere. This restaurant gives larger portions at lower prices than places like Sticky Rice or Siam Terrace, while serving with very high food quality. I'm happy to have them here and can't wait to go back to try new items, since everything I've had has been so delicious. read more

The dish they gave me tasted like a black pepper only they're mixed vegetables was limited and I mean I only got one piece of broccoli among a lot of onion and string beans and some yellow corn. I was expecting something very different so I will not come back. read more
