A multitude of missteps has brought me to the conclusion, there is better dentistry out there. Female Dr S is a poor practitioner, and it pains me to say that. But she has done two simple procedures on my daughter and I, with poor outcomes on both of us. FIND THE CRACKED TOOTH before a procedure!! Don't try to bring your patients back after the procedure has failed and say it's a cracked tooth, then recommend costly root canals and crowns. Complicated and costly. Of note, the office staff and hygienists are super.

Today is day 3 and I am still suffering. I can't eat anything hot/cold nor salty. I have been taking Advil for 3 days and still hurts. He did not even apologize. He told me that my numb lip wanted to get involved into the procedure. Also, his drill was cracked and the water sprayed all over my face including in my ear. He/his assistant were laughing the entire time. He doesn't take his work very seriously and he doesn't care about his patients as well. This was a traumatic experience for sure. My family, friends and I will never go there again.

Unfortunately, this wasn't the first time I'd been given a clean bill of health while underlying issues persisted. My wife, a retired dental hygienist, and I decided it was time to seek out better care--and we're incredibly grateful to have found it at Corera Family Dentistry. I had previously lost a tooth and received an implant, which later became the source of infection. During my consultation, Dr. Seibold was thoughtful, thorough, and collaborative. After reviewing panoramic X-rays and consulting directly with the oral surgeon who placed the implant, he carefully considered my case. Ultimately, Dr. Seibold determined that a more specialized dentist would be best equipped to manage my unique situation and referred me accordingly. What stood out most was the time he took to personally explain everything in detail and the integrity he showed by prioritizing my health over simply keeping my case in-house. His commitment to quality patient care, professionalism, and honesty is exceptional. Dr. Seibold and Corera Family Dentistry are the kind of providers you want in your corner--and the ones I will wholeheartedly refer to others.

I found all the women staff at the front desk/ hygienists to be good at their jobs too. Unfortunately, last May I received a text cancellation within less than 24 hours (they bill customers for a cancellation less than 24 hours). I knew it wasn't right, but I moved on with my schedule until the next day when the front desk woman started texting me again saying that she could "uncancel" (yes, she made up that word) my appointment otherwise she will make my account inactive. She won't offer me any other times or dates, she forcefully wanted me to take back the appointment she canceled herself. You can't mess up and expect customers to clean up your mess. What pushed me away from this dental office was to see how this person would feel so entitled to manipulate another person's schedule on her own terms and be openly and confidently BITTER. Ultimately, I hold responsible the 2 dentists for not following with quality assurance with her. She was texting this unprofessional way to a customer of 10 years, and they didn't even have a clue. I have principles.

The rates are competitive with other dentists; I couldn't really tell there was much of a difference from our previous dentist. Dr. Perigo has a great personality and comes across as a genuinely good guy. He follows up with patients after major procedures personally to make sure everything is going okay. Calling in is not a bad experience either. Again, the staff is friendly, professional and competent, and are genuinely helpful. This is one of those places where the 'vibe' just feels right. As several other reviews state on Yelp, this business is extremely shady in regards to billing practices. We learned through many encounters with them, that you need to keep copies of your signed treatment plans or they will change up the cost of the treatment and request more money. Despite having gone round and round with them for years with copies of our signed treatment plans, they continue to send bills. These bills aren't even itemized and they can't seem to ever describe what the amount is for. When we call the business to remedy, they "assure" us they will speak to the office manager. We are told the amount is resolved. And then we get another bill in the mail months later. This has now been going on for nearly 2 years. Sadly our family, who have been patients here for many years, have officially moved our entire family away from this practice.

We're new to town and didn't have a clue which oral surgeon was most highly regarded. The first one (she chose) took x-rays and couldn't find anything wrong. The next 3 I chose after hours of research, poring through all the review sites I could find. I believe I found the top 3, the first of whom promptly diagnosed her as having severe Osteomyelitis (bone infection), immediately referred her to an Infectious Disease Specialist, and somewhat frantically insisted she schedule surgery within the week. Total face time with doc was maybe 5 mins. Grateful to have a diagnosis but frankly he scared the bejesus out of us! The next day we saw Dr. Kunkel for a second opinion. He confirmed the diagnosis, however, his disposition and overall approach discussing the prognosis was entirely different. I don't know how to really explain it but you can just tell that this man is utterly brilliant, like scary smart! It's almost like you can see him doing differentials in his head while simultaneously fully present and engaged, taking all the time we needed to discuss and fully address the many questions/concerns we had. Witnessing such humble aptitude, we were quite certain he's who we wanted but still kept our 3rd appointment the next day with the #1 highest rated oral surgeon on Healthgrades (& frankly the doc we were initially most excited about). And wow, what a shock that was - Dr. D'Add**** wasn't even in the same league as Dr. Kunkel!!  I'll forgo the details not wanting to speak poorly of him as perhaps it was just an off day or maybe illness/fatigue/stress/etc?...but I will say in all earnestness that we both left that appointment feeling all the more confident that Dr. Kunkel was by far our best bet!   Now here's where it really starts to get interesting. Dr. Kunkel's schedule was COMPLETELY booked for the following 2+ weeks. Moreover, it wasn't his week in rotation at St Francis Hospital so he didn't even have access to a surgical suite (surgery of this magnitude couldn't be done at his office). Upon learning this, we were scared to death as mom's situation was critical and time was of the essence.  Well, wouldn't you know it: Dr. Kunkel, knowing the gravity of her situation and how terrified we were, and wanting to ensure she get the very best care possible, not only managed to somehow reserve surgical suite access, but also so selflessly and generously offered to preform the operation on his only day off!!  I mean, what an amazingly altruistic gesture that truly meant the world to us.  Over the following few days leading up to surgery he was in contact with my mom, often late in the evening around 9pm after a full day of work (which, OMG how awesome) discussing the procedure and CLEARLY checking out the latest research on the myriad of complementary/alternative treatments I'd berated him with! In all honesty, his willingness to spend time doing the additional research I'm confident he did so to be best prepared proved that he was/is a cut above. Fast forward 4 weeks and I'm happy to report that my mom is recovering beautifully. The 5 hr. surgery was a huge success! This particular procedure isn't cut and dry, meaning, they cannot just completely remove all the necrotic bone. The surgeon must decide which bone and how much to remove and the hope is they decide wisely so as to avoid a second surgery. I'm grateful from the bottom of my heart that we managed to find such a skilled and dedicated doctor. Dr. Kunkel is a true gem who WITHOUT DOUBT you want to preform whatever surgery you might need!

I got surgery for 3 wisdom teeth and was very pleased not only by the staff's professionalism but the un-matched customer service I received. My surgery was in the morning and by end of business day Dr. Kunkel himself called my mobile to check up on me. Not his nurse, not his receptionist. He called personally, I thought that was a nice touch. They sent me home with a tiny ice pack (nor super practical but very appreciated nonetheless), clear concise instructions on after care and the tools I needed to take care of my post op. The pain meds I received were really not strong enough to eliminate my pain, nor did I have enough. But since I had an adverse reaction to the opioids it really did not matter much to me...I actually stop taking them quite early in the healing process. I think this may be a negative for some, if they think they'll get massive amount of maximum strength opioids. But I actually think this is a positive, as it tells me they are careful with dosage and amounts of opioids prescribed here. I think many docs in the past have been too loose with opioids prescriptions which in turn contributed greatly to the current epidemic. Three days after surgery I received a get well card in the mail signed by the entire team. I have to say that was so nice. I have unfortunately been seeing a lot of dental practitioners in the past 2 years and this was quite a novelty. Again, nice touch. A week post surgery I went in for my checkup. After 15 minutes one of the nurses came out to let us know that the current surgery had incurred in some complications so Dr. Kunkel was now running a full 30 minutes behind schedule. She apologized and left. The receptionist asked some patients if they preferred to reschedule all together, leave and come back in about 30 minutes or so or if they preferred to wait. Most preferred to wait since they did not have anywhere close by to go. I did not have the option either. I just settled in for the wait. Less than 5 minutes later she came out and gave each of us a Starbucks gift card. Her opening was: I understand that your time is just as precious as our time, and although surgeries are unpredictable and the wait could not be avoided, we'd like to give you this little token of our appreciation for your wait. I mean, when does that EVER happen? Anyways, like I said, top notch customer service. This place is what oral surgery clinicians should use as their guidelines for a successful practice.
