This just freshly happened and I almost died- police took two hours to return a call (not arrive) to "check on the situation" if police was needed. This huge schizophrenic man was chasing me (a 5'5'' female with an ankle fracture and chronic illness) and cornered and chased me across a four lane street (Western) and I could have died from the cars but thankfully didn't get hit by one. All the many operators/police did as I called 7+ times as was being chased and stalked was saying I should take a ride share home, saying they have no ETA and really not taking any of it seriously despite explaining I have no way to get home and that the lack of signal was not allowing me to use ride-share. TWO hours later, they called asking me whether I still need help and in the end I ended up not even being able to stay long enough nor the man who almost succeeded murdering me being caught. My mom with lupus got out of bed to get me despite her fighting for her LIFE because I was hyperventilating and it is not good for me with chronic illness and my breathing was getting worse. Two hours later no one has even left yet and the operator was still not even understanding that my needing help for a life threatening situation was real. By the time they called it wasn't even to say they were there but asking if I still needed help, because they still didn't get it. Been hours and not a single officer en route. If you live in LA your life is in danger not because the neighborhood is dangerous but because police don't come in time and they don't know how to make simple decisions. People can die due to police negligence and stupidity. I am generally pro police but this station here is beyond words. Arguably one of the worst stations in terms of situational awareness and it's difficult to communicate the most basic concepts to them. I heard that police were understaffed but it doesn't mean they should take everyone. Our tax dollars should not be staffing them for a show. I really stood up against the defund police movement but for the first time in my life, I'm thinking maybe they should because some of these people just don't do their jobs. I called the non emergency line because of disturbing vagrant activity in my neighborhood and the police never actually showed up then about 45 minutes after calling a deranged homeless man started setting fires around the neighborhood, the kinds of fires that required local FD to attend to. I can't help but think if they'd actually shown up then he would have been apprehended after committing arson once, rather than not being apprehended after several times, but maybe I'm just crazy to expect local PD to you know, do their jobs wild, right? This isn't even counting all the times I watch people crossing the street nearly get hit by people who are clearly violating the traffic ordinances in the presence and line of sight of these officers who literally ignore it because apparently our lives don't matter and stop signs/ red lights have no meaning, it's not like there is any valid reason to require people to stop for these indicators, am I right? All sarcasm aside, what is the actual point of having local PD if they don't bother to show up or perform even their most basic duties? If they don't show up the crimes keep happening and if we as denizens of this area stop the crime ourselves it is labeled "vigilante justice" and we are at risk for facing prison time; the police not doing their job around here puts ALL of us in a bad position and there will come a time when some of us will have to take one for the team and end up unjustly incarcerated because these folks didn't do their job until someone had to take the law into their own hands because they didn't. I am pursuing options like petitions and even a possible class action lawsuit for people whose bodies and property have been harmed as the direct result of the police simply turning a blind eye. Im sure that DHS has good people but there are always some bad apples (Agent Madori being one of them) this individual served a search warrant at my residence, bashed in 2 doors and put a battery ram thru the wall. Agent Modori never found anything illegal at the residence but DHS never paid for any of the property damage. I was given a copy of the warrant for 3 seconds before it was ripped from my hands, Agent Modori said per the warrant he could use physical force to make me unlock my iPhone. No copy of the warrant was left at the residence upon Agent Modori's departure. Agent Modori also stated that he could make my life a living hell. Six months later Agent Modori shows up at my job site to return some property that he illegally confiscated from my residence, once again Agent Modori threatens me stating "Don't believe what your friends say is going to happen to you". A few months later I started to feel electronic shocking all over my body (mainly on my scrotum area). As funny as that sounds it's extremely painful. The electronical shocking has been happening for 5 years now and is unbearable. I would love to know the anti terrorism office where this device originated from. I went to the DHS office in Los Angeles to speak to someone about this situation but the security guard would not let me in.
