Superior service. Very fast regular service. No need to pay to "rush" like some places. Prices are reasonable.

It's not very often I take the time to leave a review for anything, believe me, and it's even less…read moreoften that I'm the market for a suit! Let's just say that the last suit I bought has seen almost two decade's-worth of weddings/wakes and funerals! With a wedding coming up next week my wife finally talked me into picking up a new suit. I live relatively close to this location so I ventured in. I hadn't the slightest idea where to even start. I spent about 5-10mins just looking at mannequins STILL not knowing what I was looking for. Then I heard the quiet voice of Elijah from behind a rack or something ask "do you need help with anything?" If not for this intervention I think I would still be there! I told him my situation and as a younger gentleman who was sharply dressed himself I trusted in his sense of style. I told him straight out "I'm in your hands!" His recommendations were very simple, he guessed my jacket size just by looking at me and once we found a quick fit I liked he explained the fit options to me. Things I would never have thought of like would I prefer my shirt sleeves to show a bit at the end of my jacket sleeve? That was a "no" for me but it was nice to know I was informed of these things. He measured me up for my shirt, we picked one out together that I'm very happy with. I also purchased a pair of shoes and it was just nice to hear his opinions on a few pairs he actually owned himself. It steered me in the right direction and I didn't feel like I was walking out of there with a carbon copy of my 'ol man's suit. I was confident I'd be comfortable, that I'd look good, and let's face it, most importantly that everyone at the wedding wasn't talking about "the guy in the embarrassing suit"! Thank you Elijah for your help pal, you made what I thought was going to be a 3hr painful process into something that I enjoyed doing. It's great to see that there are young men around that are able to read a person, carry a conversation, and crack a smile while providing more than a "I'm not sure about that, sorry" when asked for help. I would highly recommend going in and seeing him or even one of the other sales ppl who I also saw assisting customers if you're in need of a suit and a little guidance. Place is great.

After sitting down and waiting, looking at each other and wondering if we should leave, finally when she was good and ready were we acknowledged. My friend put her blouse on and together they went over things, and the blouse was pinned. After a brief conversation, the owner abruptly said, "I don't want to do this you won't be happy" and literally turned on her heel and walked away. This actually happened! She went to her sewing machine and started working on another order. My friend, in shock, still stood in the same place with her arms out from all the pins. I went over to my friend and said I will help you remove all the pins, and we had to do it ourselves after the owner 'dismissed' her. Finally she came back over and offered to help, but we declined...couldn't get out of there fast enough! Do NOT go there. Especially if you don't have what she deems as an easy alteration. She is quite gruff and lacks refined manners. I truly cannot understand all the positive reviews, or what the heck she is doing in Lexington.

Now, onto the reason for the two stars. $125.00 to put gussets in a bridesmaid dress on short notice?! I understand that silk chiffon is very difficult to work with, and doing anything in a rush is inconvenient, but my tailor had quoted me $70.00 for the same work. Unfortunately she was out of town, and I had to try to find a tailor in a matter of days to get the dress completed. Luckily, I stumbled upon Colonial, but I feel pretty confident I could've found better. After bringing in the dress, I was quoted what I consider a rather outrageous price, simply because I was desperate at the time. Being a negotiator by profession, I knew the tailor was taking advantage of me because I was out of options - evidenced by the fact that she was incessantly trying to justify the price by reminding me of how difficult it was going to be to alter my dress, how she was really doing me a favor, and how working with silk chiffon is "like surgery." Figuring I was going to get $125.00 worth of work done, I left my dress for alterations and returned to pick it up a few days later. The dress fit just fine - except that you could see my bra on both sides despite the fact that I'd worn the exact same bra for the fitting, and the seams on the gussets were pretty crooked. Again, I was reminded of just how much work was put into removing some fabric from the sides and sewing it in as gussets. My fault for being in such a hurry and not negotiating the price down, but still - I won't be returning. I'll just have to pray my own seamstress never leaves town again!

Winn Street Laundry does their laundry on premise but they send their dry cleaning out. I'm not use to their prices, they have a minimum weight and Jezzzzus, their prices was astronomical! I asked how much and gasps behind me for asking and the lady at the counter "This is Boston" look and their awards let me know YOU WANT YOUR CLOTHES DONE RIGHT, SCREW THE PRICES. $7 freakin dollars for a single shirt? It was either my ego that agreed, determined to look Winn Street Laundry starched down and pressed or didn't wanna look cheap and couldn't afford their services. I said out loud "Good grief, I pay $2.79 in Houston for a man buttoned down laundry, heavy starched shirt". I felt the evil eyes trying to climb my Psalm 91 hedges of protection because one of the two tunnels here was closed due to construction and the traffic put commuter's at least 30 minutes behind and in traffic. These Bostonians need to fire up a joint which is legal here and CHILL OUT:)))) Anywho, my dry cleaning was superb and the heavy starch I requested cut my neck and was ready before time. My shirt collars was white so I had not a one complaint for my HARD earned mula. I received a text when my clothes were ready along with a reminder of the price, I like that. I learned a valuable lesson from Winn; order some white polo's from Amazon, buy Spray n Wash along with spray starch and save that money for 2 16 inch bundles of human hair:))) Here today! There tomorrow!
