After my husband was injured at work, we began receiving workers comp payments. However we realized early on that the insurance carrier was a nightmare to deal with. Bo and Marc were finally able to get an authorization for my husband's knee surgery and physical therapy. He ended up needing another knee surgery and they were able to get that approved as well. They were also able to get back his temporary disability benefits. Whenever I would call the office, or email them, they would respond right away or email me back the same day. They informed us about other benefits, such as State Disability through EDD, We were completely unaware that this benefit could be paid out when workers comp stopped. They also gave us information about rehabilitation and job training. Whenever we turned in the claim forms for the mileage reimbursement, the paperwork was forwarded to the insurance company and processed promptly. I don't think we would have gotten the permanent disability, the surgeries or extended medical care if they had not represented us. I am very glad we did contact them to represent us. This law firm was very active and I felt like they really cared about my case while we were fighting for a higher settlement. I cannot say anything bad about the lawyer in terms of his professionalism. However, I was not happy with the end result which really was after the lawyer exited and the settlement was paid. My problem started after I was refused the 6000.00 education retraining compensation by the insurance adjuster named Keenan and their attorney. I was awarded the voucher for my second leg that was deemed, a result of the first injury by the State Medical Examiner. The lawyer referred me to a company to get help getting this money for school, I was entitled to by Workman's compensation. My case manager worked diligently for at least eight months trying to collect this money for my tuition. She was from a company called SJBD Advocates. She put up with verbal abuse from the Keenan adjusters several times and said she thought they were the rudest adjusters she ever met. Other medical suppliers shared the same opinion about Keenan being difficult. They always had a cocky attitude when I spoke to them as well and that is why I got a lawyer. Fast Forward to today and I still have not gotten the 6000.00 and probably will not. I am writing this review for others to be aware that your lawyer does not work with these people at SJBD or other agencies of this type. In my opinion, these vouchers are not for real. DO NOT settle for a WC voucher. The woman that worked so hard on my case does not get paid now either after all her hard work. It was financially tough when I did not get the voucher. Since I thought I was getting the voucher I canceled my financial aid loans for my last few classes. I filed a w/c claim with the state and they were very accommodating until the Drs reports started filing in with inconsistencies and then it got ugly. All my friends said get an attorney but unfortunately none of them really cared for the ones they used, so Yelp here I come. This office had a five star rating and they actually deserved ten. My case was a very difficult one to say the least, especially since I started without one, but I was not in a rush to settle because of the injuries I actually sustained. My friends main complaints with their attorneys was the lack of communication and being able to talk to someone when questions arose. At our initial meeting, they informed me that they are busy and to have patience when contacting them but someone from the office would contact me usually via email and or by phone and that's exactly what happened. I personally want to thank Tim and his team for helping me out with such a difficult case.
