JOIN-UP is the gentle, non-violent training of horses. Pat Roberts, Monty's wife; is an internationally recognized sculptor. Her superior equine statues grace homes around the world. Had a wonderful evening watching horses with very limited contact to human beings, learn to accept rider and tack, though non-fear based methods of learning. Many federal and private industries could learn a lot from Monty Robert's methods of teaching. Learning a different style of communicating is what the Night of Inspiration is all about. His training courses geared towards LEOs, Veterans, Fire Fighters, and First Responders have changed lives and given hope to many PTSI individuals. I thoroughly enjoyed the entire evening and look forward to attending again. Book early, as it took me a year to get a reservation. Come prepared to be inspired, learn new methods, be around horses, feast on the cowboy grub, and eat the best chili and beans since Chasen's Restaurant closed in 1995.

Monty and Pat Roberts opened the gates then to Flag Is Up Farms and have trained some of the most talented and pedigreed Thoroughbreds in the industry. Monty Roberts changed the way people thought of traditional horse training enough to revolutionize the industry across disciplines, eventually gaining support for his concepts by Queen Elizabeth II in 1989. The pandemic took him off the road after 30 years of demonstrating his horsemanship in 41 countries with tens of thousands of horses. In 2021, daughter Debbie Roberts Loucks and her husband Tom purchased the farm and the main residence to assure two important goals were achieved. The first was to confirm a promise to Monty and Pat that they could live out their lives on the farm they built five decades earlier. The second promise was to assure that the legacy that Monty, Pat and Debbie had built over the past twenty years would be carried forth into the generations. The Monty Roberts International Learning Center welcomes students come from around the world to learn Monty’s concepts of Join-Up®.

Are you tired of paying pet food store prices for pet food? Then, have I got a place for YOU!!…read more Nipomo Feed and Ranch Supply, in 'olde towne' Nipomo, has a very good selection of high-grade dog food, such as Taste of the Wild and Canidae at prices that beat any other that I've seen on the Central Coast. They even carry some specialty medications, such as the 300,000 IU sized bottles of Pen-G (penicillin) that I needed for my 'little old man', Scout, when he was ill. I am certainly no rancher, but this place seems to have it all, feeds, fencing, wood shavings, ranch equipment, etc.,and all at better prices that Farm Supply Co. or TSC. Not only that, but the service is friendly, helpful and personal, in a neighborly kind of way that makes me glad that we escaped from "The Crush" (Orange Co./L.A. Co.). This has definitely been my regular animal supply destination since I found it, quite by accident, a few months ago. This place is pretty easy to miss, as it is kinda tucked in between a couple of other businesses, set back off of Thompson Rd. a little. There is a little lot parking, and easy access street parking at the entry.

We were customers for 30 years, and never got any type of notice that they were GOING OUT OF BUSINESS. We have livestock that depended on their feed from them. Horrible way to end what was once a great family owned business.
