This place was GREAT under the previous ownership. The new owners however have managed this one great place into the ground. We were customers for 30 years, and never got any type of notice that they were GOING OUT OF BUSINESS. We have livestock that depended on their feed from them. Horrible way to end what was once a great family owned business. read more

Ordered 5 bales of Teff. Was told it would come in from paso on Thursday. I'd receive a call. No call came. I called Friday and was told my order was forgotten and would be picked up that day so I could get it on Saturday. Called Saturday and told them I was running behind I'd pick up on Monday. Called Monday to make sure it was there and it wasn't there and they weren't sure when or if it would be. I told them I was ordering 5 and if I liked it I'd be ordering 45 delivered. Ended up driving to premier ag in paso as I couldn't wait anymore. Very disappointing. I wanted to shop local but 3 times "forgetting " with no promise of completion. read more

I was looking for a mixed hay of alfalfa and grass to feed my horse. I headed over to Nipomo Feed as they advised they had an orchard/alfalfa mix. I bought one bale of that hay to try out on my (picky) horse. My horse absolutely loves this mix of hay. I phoned Leslie and ordered as many as fits in my tack room. The hay was delivered by two young men who were polite and pros at stacking hay. The quality of this hay and exceptional service made me a very happy customer. read more

Are you tired of paying pet food store prices for pet food? Then, have I got a place for YOU!! Nipomo Feed and Ranch Supply, in 'olde towne' Nipomo, has a very good selection of high-grade dog food, such as Taste of the Wild and Canidae at prices that beat any other that I've seen on the Central Coast. They even carry some specialty medications, such as the 300,000 IU sized bottles of Pen-G (penicillin) that I needed for my 'little old man', Scout, when he was ill. I am certainly no rancher, but this place seems to have it all, feeds, fencing, wood shavings, ranch equipment, etc.,and all at better prices that Farm Supply Co. or TSC. Not only that, but the service is friendly, helpful and personal, in a neighborly kind of way that makes me glad that we escaped from "The Crush" (Orange Co./L.A. Co.). This has definitely been my regular animal supply destination since I found it, quite by accident, a few months ago. This place is pretty easy to miss, as it is kinda tucked in between a couple of other businesses, set back off of Thompson Rd. a little. There is a little lot parking, and easy access street parking at the entry. read more

I buy bird seed from Nipomo feed- their prices are reasonable, quality is better than buying from retailers like Walmart. I've also bought the occasional dog toy, dog treats, and hats from them. I've always gotten friendly, prompt service, and they take your purchases to your car for you. Support local! read more

I like this store but watch out for the packaging on 20# bags of Cool Calories. Mine split open the first day I got it and spilled all over my tack room. I never even had the chance to open the bag. I wish it had come in the bucket I saw on the Internet. At least I vacuumed out my tack room again. They did replace the product. read more

Worst costumer service ever. Don't waste your time or money! This place sucks. The people are rude as can be. They don't care about anything but your money. Trust me. I've come here for weeks and weeks trying to make a connection and they are still continuously rude and snarky. DO NOT COME HERE. Especially the older woman running the desk. She is so rude I can't believe she even is allowed to be in the store. I'm so disappointed. This store SUCKS. go to farm supply, at least they are friendly! read more

This worse customer services have ever had ! I purchased something that broke the next day and they would not exchange or return it, he kept product too. Prices are triple tractor supply for crap food with bugs in bags. I will never go back and I will tell everyone at my horse club not to go in this place! Warning do not go to this place ! read more

I've been frequenting Nipomo Feed for the past 15+ years and I've never posted on YELP, sorry. This feed store has THE BEST customer service of ANY business! What business loads your vehicle with your feed/tack before you even walk out the door?!?! They are very knowledgeable about feeds & supplements and are connected to the livestock industry to know who to contact on the off chance you have a question they can't answer. My family has been coming here to get feed, show, supplies, and other supplements for well over 10 years. The quality of alfalfa I buy is always good. The employees here are extremely helpful and friendly. The owners are even more so. They really helped me and my family out while we were going through medical issues a few years back, and I had no way of getting hay to our ranch. Leslie sent her guys out with the hay, they even helped clear a spot and then stacked the hay. Now, they are the definition of a small town family business.
