We had a photo shoot this morning with April for our 11-day old baby, and I honestly haven't been…read moreable to stop smiling all afternoon. Our baby was a bit fussy when she got here but she was patient and tried to get as many shots in between his cries, and then while I fed him she worked on setting up shots in the house and patio so we were good to go as soon as he calmed down. Once the baby was milk-drunk, we were able to really go to town and she got some incredible shots in! April was super sweet (she clearly loves babies!) but also really sharp. There was never an awkward moment (like, hmm what should we do next?). She was in charge and we all felt very relaxed as she guided us through each shot. She sent me 5 pictures as a sneak peek a few hours after the shoot and I've been flipping through them over and over all afternoon. Each one deserves to be in a magazine, I swear! I could not recommend April enough. Can't wait to have her capture our little one's big milestones in the future!

Reba shot my wedding summer of 2006 and provided TONS AND TONS of great photos to choose from, she offered to crop and retouch if I needed it, but I didn't need it! I had my best photos that will commemorate my special day shot by Reba. She was a joy to have around, was inconspicuous during the ceremony and still got great shots! My wedding was outdoors but it was raining and Reba managed to make it look romantic... instead of muggy and rainy with everyone crammed into a tent! I think that first review must have the wrong person cause I've also seen Reba's other wedding and photo work and it's all crystal clear and inspired.

We had planned outdoor photos and it was threatening rain, but a very light drizzle didn't force us inside and Mira got some fantastic shots of three generations of family, including some normally photo-shy kids and some extremely silly ones. For some reason, I felt like I needed to get the head shot done IMMEDIATELY.. and so, even though it was winter... I arranged with Mira to have a session done at 7a on a cold Saturday morning. It was 11 degrees out. She showed up at a cool (and cold) outdoor location. She was super sweet, and tried to assuage my concerns. I don't know how her fingers didn't fall off as she worked the camera... I was reaching my limit as far as cold, and I don't get cold so easily. But, I didn't feel rushed at all. Even when I was walking like an nonagenarian on the icy ground, she was patient and encouraging. Very approachable and real, and talented, she is. I'm almost wondering if I should hire her again to take shots post haircut and highlights.....
