After waiting patiently at the bar for 10+ minutes and being ignored several times, I finally flagged down the bartender and asked if we could order drinks. After ordering, the bartender slid our drinks and cards across the bar in a very hostile manner and sneered "thanks for your patience, bitch". Honestly, so unacceptable to treat patrons that way in any restaurant setting. I understand it was busy, but that is absolutely no excuse. Please re-evaluate how bartenders are told to speak to paying customers. My friends and I are still shaken up about this experience. read more

Sketchy Crowd & Typical Narcissistic Mindless Bouncers From NY - went here 2 nights in a row - it was my bachelorette party, so we were there for hours on end both nights. The second night the door guy named Chris recognized we were back, and we said our friendly "hello." I was wearing a white sparkly dress, so I stuck out like a sore thumb. At the end of the night, closing, 2AM we were still there and the bouncers start just literally pushing everyone out - fine - they want to go home too, they're grumpy, fine. We go to get our jackets and low and behold two of the girls in our group our jackets are just... gone, including mine. So we go up to the bouncers - they tell us to "get the fuck out" and they "don't care, not their problem." Clearly they don't come into contact with NY girls much, we get shit done. We solve problems. I go over to the bartenders who are obviously no longer facing the bar serving people, I yell "hey" for them, they don't answer. I don't know them by name, so I go to the end of the bar waving, and walk in and am talking to the girl (the bartender was nice and professional).. She is like "sorry, I haven't seen anything no one turned anything in"....so turning back and stumped.....you then see Chris, friendly door man, come RAGING OVER "GET THE FUCK OUT FROM BEHIND MY BAR." I'm like "oh hey friend, remember me... well my jacket and another in my group are missing, have you guys found anything? And...he continues to curse and trash talk to me, like an animal. Nonetheless, I am someone who he saw 2 nights in a row was mild mannered and probably spent around $2000+ between myself as 11 other girls. I don't agree with the statement "the customer is always right," by any means, however I treated them with respect and honestly just wanted my coat before going out into the cold and then back to NY the following day. Their aggressive and unprofessional handling of this situation was unprecedented. Yes, we understand they deal with drunk patrons 24/7, however that doesn't give them the right of passage to be disrespectful, rude and completely not helpful. Will the change, no, do they care, no, but are they lessor of people for being disrespectful when in an authoritative (adult babysitting) position - yes. Low and behold if they actually did their job (used ear pieces, told the door guy CHRIS to look for a white and green distinct jacket as people left at the door), they would have seen the two girls who left wearing them that we found outside. I guess "useless" is really the word. Sad that they're so poorly trained to deal with a. someone who had something stolen b. blatantly rude and c. no game plan to solve problems except curse, waive their hands and act like children. So, for those of you who have made it to the end of my saga, avoid this place at all costs. No one expects to be in a weird situation, as such (who steals jackets?!), but when you do, you want to be treated with respect. read more

Not sure how the food is at the Larimer Beer Hall, because we stopped in tonight at 5:20pm on our way to the Rockies game and no one waited on us, so we left. The bar was not busy, but we sat down and waited for about 10 minutes and no one made eye contact or acknowledged our presence.Boo! read more

This is my favorite place to go in LoDo. The staff have always been so awesome and welcoming. I enjoy the music and upstairs dancefloor on the weekends (majority hip-hop) and the drink specials during the week. They have an awesome selection of beers (light to dark) on tap at all times and delicious food. (Fried pickles and the burger are my favorite!) I have been coming to this spot since I moved back to Denver and I have yet to have a bad experience. Cheers! read more

After the Rockies game we were searching for something to eat and within walking distance so we stumbled upon Larimer Beer Hall. This unique place has a variety of drinks and delicious burgers! The prices are reasonable and the atmosphere is very friendly. Also, this bar has a photo booth, which comes in handy for travelers like us. Bad service. There are 6 people behind the bar, four are talking amongst each other while one person is actually serving drinks. Two girls behind the bar are drinking beers. I have been to beer hall multiple times and have never had an issue. Tonight my friends and I walked in to have a good time and we walked straight to bathroom. We were all very well behaved and a guy who worked there said my friend was too drunk and kicked us out. We were honestly not too drunk. We weren't doing anything at all. This was a bullshit situation and we will never be giving beer hall any money again. This was totally uncalled for and was incredibly rude. We were treated terribly and it was wrong. 3.5 stars is generous as a rating. So is the 1 star I'm giving it. We had a group go in at 8pm and no one was there. None of the bartenders served anyone in the group, and the owner seemed to have a bit of a napoleon complex. As a group we've enjoyed this place in the past but probably won't be back. read more

Me and my teammates (Broncos) have had record breaking times here. We love coming to this bar, hiding in the corner and just spending time with each other while laying low and staying to ourselves. This place has great music and in my opinion they have the best Dj in Denver! What ruins this place isn't the staff they keep inside, the bartenders are super friendly and always have a smile on their faces, but the security team are absolutely TERRIBLE. I never thought I'd be the person to leave a bad review on this place but i have never had a good experience with them. This place has no cover but once we left the bar to get one of my friends in an Uber because he had a little too much to drink we tried reentering but security said and i quote "I know who you are, you aren't coming back in unless you put something in my hand." And then proceeded to threaten to "86 me" which i assume means knock me out. Occurrences like these have happened multiple times and on multiple nights and until it changes we will not be back. read more

I have never taken the time to write a bad review for an establishment, but this was unacceptable. I was there on a crowded Saturday night. A man I didn't know walked up to me and said I was ugly and yanked my hair (hard enough that I woke up Sunday with a headache and a sore neck). I was confused and really upset, so I walked up to the closest staff member I could find, who was the one of the door bouncers to tell him what had happened. The bouncer did absolutely nothing and just said "what do you want me to do princess? go chase him down and beat him up for you? go away." I know a bar can't control its clientele, but when someone is assaulted out of the blue in your bar, something needs to be done. I have never been treated so disrespectfully in my life. I talked to a manager, who was very kind, but it should have never had to come to that. read more

I was excited to hear this place was opening near my neighborhood. They did a nice job with the space, which is the most positive thing about Larmier Beer Hall. A few other things...I did not love. I am a huge beer fan, and I found the beer selection to be fairly disappointing. One thing that was a real turn-off is that they don't use proper glassware for some of their beers. For example, a beer that should be poured into a tulip glass came in a half-pint instead. Many people might not notice, but if you're going to have "beer hall" in your name (and especially here in such a craft beer loving place) you should probably put a little thought into these things. The other thing that really bothered me is that, while I was sitting in the center of the bar, I was inundated with cigarette smoke the entire time, as the front door was open and people were smoking right outside of it. This issue may be able to be fixed with some sort of fans or other ventilation (?). The last thing is there were 2 female bartenders at the time of my visit: one was very nice and atttentive (yay!), while the other couldn't be bothered to serve me and had a ton of unnecessary attitude. It isn't a terrible place, but it's definitely not for me. read more

great place! went to a penn state game here and the crowd was a good size. there was a special that if you bought a penn state cup for $10 you get (i think domestic) beer refills for $2. after a couple hours we got the munchies and ordered the tots, pretzels and fries covered in cheese, bacon and jalapenos. all were yumm. there's an upstairs with an outdoor patio, another bar and more tables and chairs. also the music was great in between plays! will be back. read more

I stopped in to wet my whistle after a long night and holy cow, friendly alert! Golly I was surprised. They have food!!! They make meat patties and put it on top of breads and cheeses. James is a bar backer there and he made me a funnel cake waffle and he is my friend. They have blueberries too! The Opie guy from the motorcycle shows who got fired from the Ginn Mill works there now. He made me a nifty pre exercise drink and it gave me a lot of excitement and spunk. There is a manager there, his name is Chuck and he is nice and laughs a lot, like a pirate. He said we are friends now and now I can call him Sexual Chuckolate. There are a lot of whistle wetting beverages that I drink there but the bar tender ma'am made me a raspberry drank, and I drank it. It tasted like a chocolate treat and she said it makes panties fall off. I said "Well look out below" haha. Sounds like some funky cold medina to me. The music is nice and makes me feel alive! Upstairs there is a bitchin dance floor and it has pretty lights and is cool to hang out in and to dance in. Oh ok also, they cook potato tots there and they are pleasantly tasty. I drank a bunch. And it was fun. And the staff there are my friends now. It's not crowded and everyone there is friendly and gives you 3 feet of bubble space. Honestly we only came here because it was so close to where we were staying in LoDo. We arrived in Denver so hungry that convenience played a large role in our decision. I'm really glad we did. It was quiet on Sunday afternoon which allowed us to chat with the bartender. She took the time to write out a list of things to do and places to visit in Denver. Great service. I got the Juicy Lucy with tots. It was delicious. Quite possibly the best meal I had on my entire trip to Colorado.
