This is the only reason for 4 stars; I found the queseo a bit bland. I'm not sure that they would consider this a specialty, and after watching the fresh dishes come out I do understand why. This was minor, and the rest of our meal was outstanding. My husband got the prime rub sandwich with fries, which was awesome. The fries have seasoning on them that's particularly noteworthy, the entire prime rib combo with horseradish and au jus is just terrific. I got the tuna poke bowl, and it was so delicious. Super cute restaurant. A lot going on downtown the day we went so the wait was 45mins but since the weather was nice we were able to sit outside and get sat right away. Stout Street Social has a phenomenal location, caddy-corner to the Hyatt Regency and right next to the convention center, which made it an obvious choice while in town for a conference. I came in alone, sat at the bar, and was quickly brought ice water and a menu. The beers on tap (40+!) and wine list are substantial, and the taps were very clean (and were cleaned more while I was sitting there watching). I ordered the Left Hand nitro milk stout, which was poured well and an exceptionally smooth drink. The prices are definitely reasonable for what you get. I was underwhelmed by the chips and salsa--the chips, "house-fried," probably are house fried but came out cold and under-seasoned, and the salsa was way too garlicky. I say that as someone who triples the garlic in every recipe. The highlight of my meal was the Social Burger. I was skeptical at first. I mean, raspberry jalapeño jam AND truffle aioli? But to my complete surprise (and excitement), it worked! The house potato chips were a welcome replacement for the chips and salsa, and I'm sad I'm not in town longer to have another one of these burgers. If you're staying near the convention center, Social is definitely worth your time--it balances a fun, chatty atmosphere and sports on the TVs with a great draft beer list and well-made, fresh food. Went to Stout Street to give it a try. The waitress was super kind. They seemed pretty busy and short on staff. It took about 30 minutes to get drinks and over an hour to get food. Visited Denver for a wedding and while looking for a place open late with good salads on their menu we found Stout Street Social. What an amazing experience! We wanted a light dinner, but ended up filling up of great food! For appetizers, we ordered their melted goat cheese, buffalo cauliflower wings, and chips and dip trio. The crispy cauliflower wings were my favorite, but the goat cheese was a close second. We all ordered different salads and they all looked great. They are continuously taking away more and charging more for less in this city, as I think they've shortened the length since I've lived in Denver. They're prime rib beef sandwich can be quite good if whoever prepared it trimmed the fat off (yuck). They give au jus which is great, but often not enough for the sandwich, but they've been pretty cool with giving me more that I can remember. The meals are good, standard American bar fare for the most part. Several tap beers and in a prime location right downtown, by the convention center, and the plays/shows venues so this place will get PACKED for those events and often require a reservation (where they won't even let anyone walk in prior to some of the more popular shows). My wife and I had a long travel day and due to time zone changes our meal times were messed up. Thankfully this spot was a block or two away from our place and with a couple good sounding appetizers we figured have a quick last meal of the day here. Despite the outside looking overcrowded we were sat inside right away. The overall vibes are of a sports bar/pub atmosphere and their big appeal is their beers on tap. The big knock for me was the BBQ sauce while tasty kinda overpowered the duck so it could not shine through. Prices were kinda what you expect nowadays for apps. Overall a solid location that seems to have a good following based on how busy they were. My wife and I enjoyed what we tried and would return. Our waiter was Manny....nice guy. Apps we had chips and queso and clam chowder. We requested both to get heated up. To bring them from luke warm to hot. Asked for a refill on the water. And that's what I got one glass of room temperature water. So I went to the bar and got my own ice. Had barbacoa tacos. Although the meat was cooked well, it was basically just meat. A few droplets of salsa and a few kernels of cheese and underseasoned (as was the chowder). Got the lamb burger to go and it was awesome ONCE I SEASONED IT at home. Here's the deal. They know how to cook but for whatever reason they are really scared of salt. But this is what I actually think. We bought one of those Denver dining books. They say you have to present these on the front end...so we did. I honestly think that when the business sees these things (not just this business...industry wide ) they automatically judge you. Haha "these cheap assess aren't going to tip." (If they only knew) so then why make an effort on food and service...they are just here for a freebie. Hey I get it. I would probably do the same. I ate here twice while in town for a conference. I had lunch here with a colleague and they were packed but we were able to get two seats at the bar. I had the Mediterranean salmon salad and it was delicious! The salmon was cooked nicely and the vegetables were fresh and flavorful. I had a Social West Coast IPA which was also excellent. A group of us had dinner here the next night and I really enjoyed the trout with polenta triangles. I could eat this Colorado trout every day and they prepared it nicely.
