I am extremely disappointed with the communication at Larkin Veterinary Center -- specifically with Bridget. I clearly explained that I am the primary contact for two of my cats, and that any decisions or charges regarding them needed to go through me directly. Instead of respecting that, Bridget contacted my partner and gave him incorrect information, which resulted in him being charged for a cat that is not even under his account. On top of that, I was told one thing about my cat's paw plan, while my partner was told something completely different. That is not just poor communication -- that is misinformation. When you are dealing with people's pets, their money, and their trust, there is zero room for careless mistakes or conflicting stories. This whole situation could have been avoided if Bridget had simply listened and followed clear instructions. Pet owners deserve transparency, accuracy, and basic respect. Unfortunately, that was not my experience here. read more

I've been taking my pets here for a few years and have been happy with the care they provide. This was confirmed when over the past 2 months when our two dogs became very sick and needed to be put to sleep. This team has been amazing through such a difficult time. I move to Wyomissing from New Jersey 5 years ago. I was using Larkin Vet for about 4 years for my cats. They were older cats that had some issues, and one younger one that was there for her wellness visit and check up. I recently adopted a 2 yr old cat from ARL- recently he came down with a URI- I called them to see if he could be seen and was told that they won't see a cat until they have a wellness visit first. Then I was told by the receptionist they are booking out until January. Well, my cat may not have been a client but I AM A CLIENT. I couldn't believe they would do that to someone who has brought all their cats to them since moving here. I was a client that made and kept appointments, and always paid my bills. Last September, I needed to get a "second opinion" for what was wrong with my rottweiler (my regular vet said she was fine). Was able to get an appointment the same day I called. The staff LOVED on my rottie and the vet found what was ailing her. A few months later, my cat needed attention. When I was able to get yet another same day appointment, I called my old vet and moved all of the records to Larkin. On Friday January 13 our bird was not responding as normal(not climbing, not talking, slow breathing ect) so we called in for an appointment and they denied us evan though we told them what was happening. To let you know, there are no bird vets within 1-2 hour travel. Two days later we wake up and he is not evan walking. later that day BooBoo died, thanks for the "help". FYI not taking new clients is the death of a small business, good luck. read more

I will never go back to this Vet again... they should have never given my dog his booster shots when he wasn't feeling well (i didn't realized that until 2 weeks later)... my poor baby's body tried to fight 4 different issues instead of 1... and he just couldn't, he was barely 4 years old. I've spoken to several vets/pet experts that have said Larkin should have never given him those 3 booster shots at that time. read more

Unfortunately we had to put our precious Labrador retriever Dakota down a few days before Christmas this year. Larkins were so very good to all of us especially Dakota. Everything was handled wonderfully the way they treated all of us from the moment we arrived to the very end of our dogs life. It was so very heart wrenching and devastating to all of us watching our precious dog die in front of us but it was also a wonderful service that we got from Larkin veterinarians. They are so very kind and sweet and they sent us a beautiful flower afterwards with their condolences for our beloved pet who had passed. read more

My dog was a patient at this office for 7 years. He recently became very sick. When I called the office they refused to see him stating "we are just too busy" despite the fact that he required emergency care and needed emergency surgery which thankfully was done by a practice that cared. When my dog needed them most they failed him. read more

I've been taking my dogs to Larkin since 2015. My beagle has had many problems ranging from allergies and ear infections to eating something that made him sick, and the doctors and staff and Larkin have helped us through all of them. He tends to be nervous and very vocal when he sees the doctor, but the staff is always very gentle and patient with him. We used to see Dr. Worrel, but she has moved to another vet. Dr. Worrel was with us when our border collie passed away. She gave us a lot of time in a quiet room to spend with him, and the office staff was very kind and compassionate when he passed away. While we miss Dr. Worrel, we now see Dr. Donahoe and she is just as wonderful. There have very few times that we've had to wait past our schedule appointment time to be seen, and when it happened we were told that it was because there was an emergency with another pet. Otherwise the doctor has always been on time. We are on a paw plan which helps with office visits and vaccines. While certain procedures are expensive (as they are at most vets) the office is very accommodating and willing to work with you. I will continue to bring my beagle to Larkin, and I recommend this vet to anyone who wants great care for their pets. read more

After our recent cross country move, we started asking around for recommendations on veterinarians for our allergy challenged dog. After receiving numerous recommendations for only Larkin, we called and made an appointment. The reception staff was very friendly and patient as she collected the somewhat lengthy history and was able to see us the same week. We really appreciated the Saturday hours! The appointment was very smooth and was quite thorough. They reviewed her history, made several vaccination recommendations and addressed our concerns regarding new environmental allergies. We were particularly impressed with the care plans offered to help spread out the cost of pet care. With the extensive medical history of our pet, we are used to being ineligible for any insurance or care plans. It was not so here! After returning home, I was able to sign on to the website and access details of our visit, including alerts and reminders for upcoming visits. I am particularly impressed with the ease of use and access through both the website and Larkin app! All in all a great experience! read more

Bad location with limited parking. Remodeled office and created a fear free environment which increased my costs and my dogs are still scared. You might be surprised with charges at check out that you weren't advised of. Unfortunately will be Finding a new vet after today. read more

I had an emergency with my pup this evening and called Larkin. I recently ended services with my old vet and haven't gotten a new one. I spoke with Brenda who was incredible. She was absolutely amazing and was able to get me in immediately as a new patient with my pup. The front desk staff were great and the place place was very clean. We recently became pet owners (a kitten and a puppy). Larkin has been amazing with both animals, treating them like family. Making appts, answering our endless questions- we are really happy with all our experiences at this vet! Also, during these covid times, its great to have curb side service for the many appts young animals need (like shots and neutering/spaying). We have been bringing our pets to Larkin for the past 18 years. We understand the difficulties everyone is facing at this time dealing with covid 19. However when we had our last two appointments here we were on time, we still had to sit in our vehicle outside with our cat who doesn't travel well at all for a half hour the first time and about the same this last time. Besides the pets illness this additional stress added to her condition. We feel they need to address this situation somehow. read more

I'm a brand new cat owner, I've never owned a cat before, and I just got a kitten a month ago. He is only 15 weeks and today he got sick. I started noticing he wasn't eating and he was lathergic. Being a new pet owner I didn't know what to do and was scared for his health. I called and they took me within the hour! They provided all of the help my kitten needed, ran exams, and explained everything very clearly. He ended up having a fever. All the staff was very kind and helpful. I knew they were professionals and my kitten was in good hands. They were even kind enough to stay after doors closed just to make sure my kitten got the best care. As soon as I got home my kitten instantly started eating again and being more like himself! I am highly impressed with their expertise, kindness, and overall help! The price is very reasonable! I went with a Pawplan that they offer. I would highly recommend! I have been taking my pet here for a year now, Because I have the paw plan. The staff is friendly, but the last few times it has been a problem. I work long hours 6 days per week. I make an appointment because I have little time to do all I need to do in my ONE day off per week. I had to wait over an hour to get my pet seen with an appointment, is not like I just walked in. I understand if there is an emergency, but the last 3 times? Maybe 20 minutes wait is ok, but not an hour. Time is valuable and it should be respected read more
