Okay lets try this again. I originally did a review for heather and no idea what happened to it…read more So Heather originally did my maternity pictures. AWESOME job. I mean i was 8 months prego.. 50 lbs more than a prego suppose to weigh... my pictures turned out HOT. I think she got the magic touch! At first i was kind of uncomfortable taking photos of my big belly. Heather was so easy going... she eased any uncomfortable feelings i had. This was my first pregnancy. So naturally I want the pictures to be magical. They were perfect! I am so happy with them. Fast forward... 9 months after my maternity session. I now have a beautiful baby girl with a mean frown. Our first holidays together. So around halloween, i dressed her up as a little lady bug. We called heather again and heather made my girl smile and now i have memories of my little lady bug on her first halloween. Heather is amazing, she's great. Super easy to work with and creative! I have not only told all of my friends and family in Roseville to NEVER under ANY circumstance use her, but also in the surrounding areas to ensure that her business will be affected by it. We booked Heather to photograph our wedding 7 months out. About 20 days before my wedding we had called Heather to go over wedding details and firm up our plans, she did not answer her phone. 18 DAYS before my wedding Heather informed me VIA EMAIL (beyond unprofessional) that she decided she could not hack it and would not be photographing our wedding. Apparently she was to much of a coward to answer the phone and tell her clients that!!! We were then left with NO wedding photographer 18 days prior to our wedding, and it was a destination wedding none the less!! 18 days before a wedding you can imagine that a BRIDE has OTHER things to take care of rather than trying to find A NEW wedding photographer!!! Especially in the middle of wedding season! Heather said she would return our money UM YEAH YOU BETTER!!! You broke a contract and are not worth our money! It took several days to get it from her, I emailed her asking where it was she said that she had not had a chance to go to the post office to send it certified mail - UM HELLO YOU JUST BROKE A CONTRACT AND CAUSED AN EXORBITANT AMOUNT OF PROBLEMS - you better MAKE IT YOUR PRIORITY to get to a post office. We finally got the check 5 days later - you can imagine that we needed this money to go towards a new photographer! In the end it turned out better for us, we found a much more talented photographer who was not afraid to talk to her clients and our pictures turned out great. DO you selves a favor and hire a REAL photographer NOT HEATHER she is just an amateur with a camera that has NO professionalism !!

Whether you opt to hire Kyla as a midwife or doula, you will not regret it! She helped my husband and I so much in learning more about how our baby is growing, what the L&D process would look like, and providing tools and resources to help us in preparing and forming a birth plan fit for our family. We hired Kyla as our midwife and had a home-birth. Without writing out my whole birth story I will just say that both my husband and I felt beyond supported for the over 48 hours I was in early/active labor, pushing, and getting baby measured and the house tidied afterwards. We are one week postpartum now and love having someone to reach out to with questions as they come up has been so comforting. We love doing our postpartum check ups at home and value that Kyla can check on baby instead of dragging them out of the house so tiny. Do yourself a favor and consider midwifery care, hands down the best decision we made for our growing family!

We are now pregnant again, baby due in March 2019 and plan to use her with this baby as well. I have NEVER felt as if our appointments were rushed and she answered every single question we had and was compassionate with our concerns.. What I respect about Laurie the most is that she will tell you how it is (her professional opinion) but will respect your wishes without guilt. I love being able to use a midwife while also having the peace of mind of delivering in the hospital. On top of really liking her, we REALLY love her staff. Always friendly and excited to see us when we arrive. We also use Liberty Health Share for our payment option and they were more than willing to work with them, when others would not. Highly recommend.

During the birth of my son she wasn't educated on managing a posterior labor and was detrimental to my having a natural birth as she pushed pitocin and an epidural. She also broke my water and did a stretch and sweep right after I told her No. She told me it was inappropriate for me to bring my newborn to my six week postpartum checkup, and that I was a "naive first time mom." I would not recommend her to anyone, she was not supportive and very condescending towards first time moms. At one of my prenatal appointments she ranted about another first time mom for coming to the hospital in labor in the middle of the night a day how the woman "didn't know what real labor was." I was expecting better of her as a midwife, but all things considered I wouldn't go with her again.
