What I respect about Laurie the most is that she will tell you how it is (her professional opinion) but will respect your wishes without guilt. I love being able to use a midwife while also having the peace of mind of delivering in the hospital. On top of really liking her, we REALLY love her staff. Always friendly and excited to see us when we arrive. We also use Liberty Health Share for our payment option and they were more than willing to work with them, when others would not. During the birth of my son she wasn't educated on managing a posterior labor and was detrimental to my having a natural birth as she pushed pitocin and an epidural. She also broke my water and did a stretch and sweep right after I told her No. She told me it was inappropriate for me to bring my newborn to my six week postpartum checkup, and that I was a "naive first time mom." I would not recommend her to anyone, she was not supportive and very condescending towards first time moms. At one of my prenatal appointments she ranted about another first time mom for coming to the hospital in labor in the middle of the night a day how the woman "didn't know what real labor was." I was expecting better of her as a midwife, but all things considered I wouldn't go with her again.

We were called about 30 minutes after arrival to go back to a room where they could look at you. Doctor came in and checked out my husband and son (separate occasions) and gave their medical advice and we were on our way. Super easy, doctors and MP seem really knowledgeable and helpful. Also, really appreciate the cleanliness of this hospital. I didn't see one speck of trash anywhere. Hopefully I don't have to come back, but I would choose this hospital over and over again!

It became necessary in my 40s and while he was pretty up front about how difficult it could be, all went as well as could be expected. It was much harder on him than me. I was comfortably asleep in the chair. His staff was super efficient and friendly and he is kind and confident. He followed up by calling me the night of surgery and asked that I text and update him on my numbness the next day. I appreciated the great communication and care. We are lucky to have such a good oral surgeon caring for Cedar City patients. They got me in the day after my referral was written and the tooth was pulled within a week!
