Final chapter: Larkspur finally finished the work, but it took filing a criminal complaint for theft and civil action through an attorney to make it happen. The minute the building passed county inspection, Larkspur called to get the rest of its money. I missed the first couple of calls, which ended in threatening voicemails. He said he called many times (2) and left many messages (2) and if I didn't pay the balance of $5,708.68 immediately he would get a mechanic's lien against the property. That number was way off the mark, so I asked for an itemized invoice. When the invoice arrived, it was for $4,173.67, which was also inflated because he never did the electrical work that was in the contract. In the end, $5,708.68 became $1,797.26. As I said, believe nothing this company tells you. I still have all the receipts, emails and voicemails to document my interaction with this awful company. read more

Avoid this company and it's owner, Guillermo, at all costs. He will convince you to work with him, then blame you when your partnership goes bad. He will not return your phone calls or texts for a very long time and, when he does finally respond, he will refuse to pay what is owed to you, stating his business is going very badly and he doesn't have the money. I was even willing to take payment in materials, which he agreed to. But, when I reached out for a specific date for delivery... same story. Business is bad and there's nothing he can do. I love the barn that was built for me. However I am not in love with the fact I spent 20k, 11k alone on materials to be told they take all the extra materials when they leave. Also they never cleaned up and I have been walking around picking up screws all day. Also the owner has an attitude. They were scheduled to start October 5th. The day of the 5th comes and I'm sitting here waiting for them to show up. At 9:30am my husband calls to tell them nobody is here and the owner, very rudely states that b.c of covid blah blah blah. Waited until friday the 10th, called and asked when they would start and we finally got a date. Had to nag them all week to get things done. Beware! Paid for everything up front for a great discount. This was a big mistake. Major trouble getting our pole barn supplies delivered - delivery was repeatedly promised and then another no-show. We waited at least 3 months for our metal to be delivered. Heard every excuse in the book, usually it was about 'a broken truck'. When we finally received our metal, it was missing pieces. When I met Guillermo I was thrilled! He listened to what my wife and I wanted for our barn and made some great suggestions. We were sold, so gave him 10% down and he put us on the schedule. Said it would take about 3 weeks to complete. Fast forward and over 5 months later we still don't have a completed barn. Different crews, various firings and people quitting on the job. With constant complaining and calling about it almost daily all we got were excuses. It's been a slow and painful process and while waiting patiently we had to put one of our horses down that was being boarded while waiting for this to be completed. Guillermo, the owner, makes every excuse there is and says things to me that are very unprofessional. He states we could've had the horses in the barn a month ago, but the barn doors were only hung last week and they don't close properly because it gets stuck and I can't even close them. There's no latch on one of the stall doors, the stalls are all different sizes, and he states that he doesn't remember stating that the tack room would have a ceiling and walls, but he would put them in as a favor. Other things are not finished which he says will get done. The thing that gets me is as each phase was completed he immediately asks to get paid, but when I try to call and ask him or email him about the delays, he doesn't get back to me and when he finally does it's just one excuse after another. I really wished I never met this man, it's been stressful, frustrating and I would be remiss in not letting people know to stay away from this place! I supplied trusses to this company for some pole barns Guillermo ordered. He paid late and not in full for the 1st pole barn. I sent a bill for the what he did not pay for and finally did get a check for the remainder of the 1st barn. The second barn that was delivered in August of 2019 still has not been paid for completely. I have called numerous times, sent emails of the invoice and customer statement. Guillermo said he would pay and a few weeks later I received a check for less than half of what is owed. I have been calling and emailing for the last month and they will not pick up the phone or answer my emails. I guess my next move is collections. read more

This company uses second hand wood, every piece came from someone else's jobsite that that wood wouldn't pass inspection on any other job so the wood gets sent back and sold to Guillermo almost for free. Everything they use is made of the cheapest quality. He makes his employees pay for the nails used in your building, so keep in mind his employer is losing money by nailing the buildings off correctly so they don't use the correct nailing patterns it's horrible. These buildings could never pass inspection, he is being sued for his complete incompetence and lack of respect for customers, ( don't believe me look at the case of Travis strong a great man and a veteran that lost both His legs fighting overseas) he was told by other builders as well as inspectors the only way to fix his barn would be to demo the entire building and start over) that's not the only case either...his incompetent employees after completely building the horse barn wrong put 3 of the 4 Dutch doors on upside down. This is the type of quality you will get from larkspur buildings, it doesn't matter how bad the material is he always says it's gonna get covered up by metal and they will never know, truly is a sad situation, I've seen so many unsatisfied customers because they don't Know what they are getting until the building is already built, I'd highly recommend not ever using this company, if you are looking for true quality call either, hi-point construction, steel structures, Morton or cleary that's the best metal building companies in the state but in my opinion I'd go with hi-point construction, read more

We ordered a 24x36 barn back in April of 2019. We paid to have them place the poles which had to be dug up and redone because they configured it incorrectly. This took over 3 months because of several no shows and unanswered calls when I called to find out what was going on. Since then, calls frequently went unanswered and deliveries didn't include all the materials. At one point, they delivered some of the wood without the hardware so the wood set outside for about 2 months before they finally delivered the hardware. It was winter so the boards warped by no fault of ours. They did replace these boards in an untimely manner. By this time, winter had set in so we got the replaced boards up and the rest had to wait. We are not able to work on the barn again, but we are missing half of the roofing materials, the doors (3 dutch doors and a larger main door), and the 2x10 door header. I have been calling for over 3 months about the doors not being received and have yet to hear back from them. I would highly recommend that you find someone else to do the job. Guillermo has every excuse in the book as to why things aren't going correctly and blames the customer for his mistakes. He likes to put himself on a pedestal by saying that he took extra time to come correct his own mistakes. I ordered a 16x24 shed kit from Larkspur outlet last year. This was a larger shed than they had done before so they had to completely start from scratch on plans. I had special requirements for the floor because of what I wanted to do with the barn and Guillermo worked with us to make sure it would do what we wanted. The kit was delivered free of charge all the way to Ft. Collins which was great and we began construction. The first load did have some things missing but when I called Guillermo about it he rushed the necessary supplies out as soon as he could. If I were gonna do anything different I would have paid the extra money to have them deliver everything framed just for ease of assembly but with the plans that were provided and a few 30 packs of beer and some good friends I now have a sweet barn to store all my toys in and tinker when I want. Since I am not able to review larkspur buildings I will just do it here. I am a resident in one of Guillermos trailers. I have lived here since 2018. Winter is always a pain since my trailer is so small, the pipes tend to freeze. Now, if Guillermo cared for any of his residents or the condition of their trailers, I wouldn't be having the problem of pipes freezing. Unfortunately I have been without water since early YESTERDAY morning. I called him this morning around 8 am and there still isn't anyone here to try and help me. Not to mention about 2 weeks ago, I was locked out of my trailer and Guillermo could've cared less. He never sent anyone that might've had a key on them to help me get inside. Thank goodness I had $75 to spare for a freaking locksmith because if I hadn't I would've had to sleep in my car. To make a long story short, if you rent at Shangri La Mobile Home Park do not rent a trailer that Guillermo (Larkspur Buildings) owns. He is not a compassionate landlord nor does he have proper costumer service skills. He will leave you locked outside of your house or worse, without water for more than 24 hours at a time. read more

I am a volunteer fundraiser for a horse rescue in Centennial. Our fundraising group researched several companies that produced good quality, long lasting loafing sheds for rescue horses and Larkspur Buildings fit the criteria perfectly. We ordered five 12' x 36' equine sheds. Each shed was delivered when promised. The crews worked in below zero conditions, worked through the weekend never hesitating to get them built on time. The crews were professional and worked diligently. The sites where Larkspur Buildings placed the sheds were less than perfect, having to deal with drainage and sloping issues, still the sheds turned out better than imagined. Do not use this company. They are awful! They take your money and never finish the job. They promise you the moon and give you a small ugly dull rock. No seriously! We ordered 5 buildings from this company, 2 lean-tos, a 24x36 hay barn, a 24x36 quarantine barn and a small indoor riding arena. They started and finished the lean-to's without issues, then they had a deadline of May 12th 2016 to finish the quarantine barn, they started it in April, took all our money, and even today, September 14th our quarantine barn doesn't have doors, or stalls... It's literally a shell!! They have been fully paid! They also started the hay barn and that was in May and that doesn't have doors either! Every time you call they give you a bs excuse saying the other materials needed are in production... They've said this over and over yet whenever they have come to our home, they have built it here. There is nothing in production! They have stolen our money and are refusing to return it! We canceled the riding arena back in June, due to them not meeting their contract time lines, and they are saying they are keeping the extra money that supposedly was for the riding arena! That's over $15,000 folks! All other buildings have been paid in full as well, yet we have unfinished buildings and no one comes to finish them. We called Tom Martino and they too tried to resolve this and it ended with them telling us to contact a lawyer and sue them, they are also adding them to their list of sleazy businesses!
