Nocturnal - The latter was delicious

This place is very cool...very cool indeed…read more A rating of five stars, based on atmosphere alone, would be appropriate! Obviously the theme is richly macabre. The spirit of Edgar Allan Poe, and Wednesday Addams (Jenna Ortega version) would find themselves very much at home in Nocturnal! Fortunately, the appeal of this place goes well beyond its cool vibe. The coffee is great. It's potent. It more than satisfied my incessant desire for STRONG FLAVORS! The other drinks that I tried were excellent as well. I didn't try any pastries or other snacks, but I have to admit that they looked very tempting. At first I would have thought that this place seems a little out of place in downtown Monroe. But after coming here a few times, and checking out the very interesting crowd, I realize that I was mistaken. I'll definitely be back, and I'll bring the wife. She'll love it too. Five stars!!

This moody coffee shop is a vibe! It is usually only open during the evening. We caught it on…read moreupside down day which meant that they were actually open in the morning! Like I said.....a.....vibe......They were playing industrial rock music which is also a choice for 9 am. The building is neat. Exposed brick and the decorative touches give this place a New Orleans feel. I really enjoyed it. The coffee and service were both very good. I had a latte and it was quite smooth. I would definitely recommend it. You can add flavor for a small charge but I just had it plain. We also ordered a peanut butter explosion cookie. Wow was it rich and decadent. We couldn't finish it but I loved the peanut butter whip on top. So good! If I lived in the area I would be a regular. Highly recommended.

We had our wedding here, and I have nothing but incredible things to say about Adam, Adriana,…read moreRachel, and the entire RHF team! We were lucky enough to have our wedding on a gorgeous day in June at the prairie barn, and we were completely spoiled with the attentiveness of the bartending, groundskeeping, and planning team. Guests absolutely loved our venue -- from the air-conditioned barn, stunning tent and table rentals, cocktail hour patio, fire pits, and luscious lawn that we got married on in front of a big oak tree! We had the property completely to ourselves from Friday-Sunday to set up, party, and clean up, which was an added bonus and stress-saver. I would recommend this venue to anybody looking to get married in a modern barn or farm venue. Since then, RHF has opened up the Nest, their kitchen & bar, which we also have loved frequently this past season!

We went here for Sunday brunch on their second week of service. This restaurant is located on M-52…read morejust north of Chelsea. It is back off the road on the Robin Hills complex. We were seated at our table and given the cocktail menu. I ordered the rosemary greyhound. It was refreshing and had just the right amount of rosemary in it. They have a full bar and others at my table had mimosas or bourbon. The brunch menu had many choices, all looked amazing. At my table we had the short rib hash, the boursin cheese egg sandwich, the salmon egg scramble & the sausage, egg and pimento sandwich. Everything was excellent. The hash had amazing roasted potatoes, a nice amount of meat and two beautiful fried eggs on top. Actually, all the dishes came with a side of roasted potatoes that were wonderful. One of the things that I think would really elevate this restaurant is if their orange juice was fresh squeezed. However, it was quite good. We will be coming back soon to try the Italian grinder and the Nutella French toast. We are told that there is music on some nights and we did not review the dinner menu. However, if it's anything like the brunch menu, I can't wait to try it.
