I've been a patient of Dr. Canton for many years--since probably 1996--and I can honestly say he has one of the best bedside manners of any doctor I've ever had. He is always kind, sincere, and takes the time to truly listen. He explains everything clearly and never makes you feel rushed. Like many practices, they've had some staffing challenges, but honestly--who hasn't? I'm a business professional myself, and I know firsthand how difficult it is to find and retain good people these days. That said, my visit today was seamless. I arrived at 12:50 for a 1:00 appointment and was out by 1:30. The entire staff was extremely friendly, welcoming, and professional. I should have written this review a long time ago. After reading some of the negative reviews, I feel compelled to say this: people need to be patient. You don't know what another patient may be dealing with, and personally, I don't want a doctor who rushes through appointments. My review is solely based on the office staff. Dr. Canton is a wonderful doctor, if you are able to get in to see him. My husband had an appointment today. Deana the office manager called because when she ran the insurance in their system it was showing our insurance was in a grace period. She flat out said I have to cancel your appointment. My husband said could you please let me call the insurance company to verify. She was insistent that their system shows that we are in a grace period and she had to cancel. He offered to pay out of pocket. She said no because you have insurance. Well in their system we don't, so what's the difference who pays?! Dr. Canton, Deana is condescending and extremely rude to your patients. She is not putting your patients wellbeing in mind. We will not be returning after being so treated so badly. read more

Came in for a first time physical, waited over an hour to be seen by the doctor, asked a question about my blood work result, got a generic answer and a basic physical assessment with no more information or comments, doc left the room saying he will try to get my blood work faxed over to him and office staff came in and told me I can go home now. Didn't get to ask any of my actual questions or get any in depth information, waited over an hour for a 10 min appointment, no follow up call either. read more

I have been going to Dr canton for 12 years and he is the most kind and caring Doc. He is a great listeners and he won't over medicate you he works with me to solve issues with out meds. I am 69 and heathy and still going strong Thanks to my doc and his staff . read more

While Dr. Canton was a decent enough provider, his office staff is less than desirable. The main receptionist is rude and callous. she seems to hate her job and really should find a new profession. be prepared to wait at least 30 minutes before you're brought into the room and at least another hour before he comes to see you. his staff does not follow through on appointments that they are supposed to schedule. they do not accept credit cards and I have to wonder if this is because he pled guilty to insurance fraud. To pay your bill you need to pay them cash or check - even if you have a HSA or FSA account. Something I've never heard of an office doing. Need a monthly prescription refill? You'll need to set aside a day every month to spend at least an hour there to see the dr even though it's a medication you've been on for years and have already discussed your medication with the dr - because he won't do a prescription without seeing you. Basically, Dr. Canton needs to join a bigger practice or actually hire more staff to accommodate his patient level and he needs to become more up to date with billing practices and he really should fire the receptionist. She really ruins your day when you have to talk to her. read more

I've had several appointments now with this office. Dr. Canton himself is great and very thorough, I'd give him a 5 however the office staff is terrible. First off they don't take a credit card and neglect to tell you that when making the appointment. I made an appointment for my lunch hour since this is close to my office only to get there and have to run somewhere to get cash. This is is completely unreasonable, hardly anyone carries cash anymore and for the staff to not tell you that is even more ridiculous. Some people don't have cash let alone carry it. I also called the office & left a message, I wasn't able to find something Dr. Canton recommended, I received no return call at least twice. Bottom line Dr.Canton - hire someone else for the front & get a credit card machine. In the meantime I'll be finding another doctors office that's slightly more accommodating. read more

I have had 4 appointments at this Doctors office. The experience has been consistent without change. I will say I was going to rate 1 star but I have to say that Dr. Canton himself is an AWESOME Doctor. He is very thorough, very nice and understanding and this earned another star. Most of my complaint is with the office and how the business is ran. All 4 times I've been to this office with a scheduled appointment my wait to see the doc has always been at least 1 hour and 20 minutes. No joke. The last 3 times I actually went up front and told them I would have to reschedule and just leave if I wasn't seen in a timely manner. I waited. That didn't help. The other complaint is that this office does not accept any other payment method except cash. It's 2017. CASH ONLY IS UNACCEPTABLE. This makes using my Health Care Spending Account very difficult. read more

Dr Canton is the most thorough Dr I've ever seen. Every visit, he takes his time with me and does a full assessment. Makes me feel like I really matter to him ( he is genuinely a kind man). Always happy, smiling and does everything he can to treat or help me with my health! You may wait 30 min, but I go to the room, lay on table and take a nap until he comes in! I don't mind bc he is worth the wait ! Front desk girls are amazing and Sam is fantastic with insurance and all the policies that the office follows. Very professional! read more

Dr C has been my dr for 14 years now. I wouldn't dream of going to anyone else. While yes, you may wait a little longer than usual in the exam room waiting for him, it is only because of the thorough attention and care he is giving the other patient in the next room. He truly cares for how I am doing, and it shows. I feel comfortable bringing new meds to his attention to discuss, and he is always open to my concerns. read more

Inconsistent information provided by gruff office staff. Wanted to go here since this Dr is nearby but they are not sure of what my medicare coverage is until I visit and they will want cash. But they don't know how much. I related that info could be offered in advance. No, not good enough. They have issues with one controlled Rx I've been prescribed for over 25 yrs. Listen, I refuse to wait for 1 hour. Doesn't look very promising and may use someone else. Bad for this Dr since the plan was to have all previous records in his ofc and being a permanent patient. I'm reasonable but am the patient, client and payment endorser and refuse to be abused by the so called "health care" offered by many of these providers. read more
