Five stars across the board! I was in town on a business trip, my SUV overheated as I pulled into the parking lot of my hotel. Larry came highly recommended from a friend. So I had my Durango towed to his shop, and I called him explaining my situation. I was scheduled to go home back to Virginia the next day. He got the issue diagnosed, ordered parts, and fixed it inside one day, all for a very reasonable price. He mentioned how it's no fun to be stranded so he made my job a priority. As if that level of service wasn't outstanding enough, he then even took time out to show me his cool vintage mustang collection! I had mentioned that I was a huge fan of the old mustangs. When you have an honest mechanic, who treats his customers like this, and is a 'died in the wool' car guy like Larry is, he's more than just a reliable mechanic and an honest man...he's an asset to your community. Murphy's Law strikes again! We have lived here almost 12 years and did not know about Larry's because it is on the old Route 4 which is now 765 and only used by residents who live close by. We had a slow leak in our left front tire and could not find anyone who could fix it right away. a guy at Valvoline recommended Larry's. I called and got a recorded message. I didn't think I would hear back but less than 5 minutes later Larry's returned the call and said I could come right over. No wait! He plugged the tire right away. Didn't even have to remove it. Only charged 10 bucks. now I am kicking myself for living here almost 12 years and not knowing about Larry's Auto Service which is literally a "hidden gem"!! it's off Rt.2/4 South on Pardoe Rd. now I feel bad that I'm moving! read more

Larry Murphy is a very competent, trustworthy and decent mechanic. Those who think they should get a free lunch when they take their old clonkers for repair would perhaps be better off using a bicycle or walk. Changing priorities may also help. We live in Washington DC and recently traveled to see friends in Lusby. On the way there around 8 pm on a country road our car suddenly lost all electrics. We towed it to the nearest garage which was Larry's Auto Service. I was really upset anticipating a huge expense and being long time without the car. Larry spent the whole morning investigating the cause of the issue, and was able to fix it! And he did not even charge that much. I was so impressed with his work, I am tempted to drive down to Lusby for regular car service from now on! :-) read more

Read a lot of good reviews about this place. Mine is different. Was quoted $1930.00 to put a used transfer case on a half ton GMC . Priced a used one $750.00 at the most. So $1200. Labor for 2-3hours work? Must be my Maine Yankee plates. This should be a hate crime. read more

After getting a quote from Larry to replace my Transmission of 3500, I decided to take my Ford back to the dealer and see if they found that my vehicle really did need a new transmission! Some repairs were needed, but NOT ON THE TRANSMISSION !!!!!!!
