Recently we noticed that the cushions on two chairs that they restored decades ago were not holding up. We took them in and, a week later had cushions stuffed with new feathers that exactly match the colors of the rest of the chairs. Also one of the chairs had a bolt sticking out more than an inch. As part of the deal, Mike, the owner, visited our house and snipped the metal part off. When we need something done to our furniture, we don't have to make tough choices.

The stain were only on table and 1 leaf, the other 4 leaves were new & just needed to be lacquered. Also needed this table done by specific date because I needed it for a big party. He confirmed it will be done. Or I said don't start project before the party but after because I need the table for this party. He has his finisher sand entire table including all the leaves, changes the finisher half way through the project, they can't get my table to it's original color and texts me 1 hr before my party that he will not be delivering it because it's not dry. We had to drive around LI looking for tables to buy/rent as the guests were gathering at my house! This man has no respect for others or decency to tell us a day before or at least the morning of. Once we presented our frustration, he told us that he will not be delivering the table to us and we have to come pick it up. Once finally delivered, the table is 3x darker than original color and 2 leaves not matching the rest. DEMANDED TO PAID IN CASH ONLY. My husband brought the 2 leaves back to fix it and he refused, ignored call, avoided him and then once we walked in the shop and seen him in person he said he will have to charge us to fix it! Stay away!!!

I was looking for a business/someone to reupholster dining room chairs and started asking around for recommendations. A friend recommended a place, and I contacted them as well as doing some additional research. I ended up getting a lot of estimates that varied largely. I was going to go with the place that my friend recommended but they were a little far and I decided to call Karantonis Fabrics and Home because they had great reviews. I called and was thoroughly impressed when speaking with Tony whose knowledge and patience was exceptional. Tony spent a significant amount of time on the phone with me and was incredibly informative, professional and kind. I find that good customer service is currently very rare, and customers/consumers are often not respected or valued. Tony provided with me with an estimate that was higher than the one from the place my friend recommended and when I informed him of that he agreed to match it, which was very generous, kind and greatly appreciated. The day that I went to drop off the chair seats, I met John - Tony's brother, who assisted me, and I was equally impressed. John already knew what I wanted, as he informed me that he had heard the conversation that I had with Tony. John proceeded to show me around and show me options based on what I had asked for and assisted and helped with all decisions. The work was completed way ahead of schedule and all the seats were perfect and gorgeous. I would also like to add that I am extremely picky and have eyes that see imperfections immediately; there were none and I was delighted. I brought the seats home and attempted to attach them to the chairs, but I am not all that handy, had an injury to my hand and felt uncomfortable as I did not want to damage the beautiful workmanship. I spoke with Tony, and he told me not to worry, that he would come by and reattach all the seats, once again a perfect job. We also discussed additional work - window options. Shortly after, I contacted them again to further discuss window options and we are now in the process of creating beautiful windows. I highly recommend Karantonis Fabrics and Home for their exceptional knowledge and excellence in workmanship and customer service.
