Do not judge the restaurant by the exterior. This place is a hidden jewel. I was really impressed by the quality of the food, really tasty fare. I put this place in the real Mexican food catigory, such a nice change from the millions of repetive, carbon copy Tex/Mex spots. Of all the Mexican restaurants in Fort Smith, this is hands down the best quality and service.

Mostly great, just one down side. I tried this place because I was passing through town on business and saw the great reviews. I ordered something to go so just know I didn't eat in house, but the staff was welcoming and accommodating while I waited. I couldn't leave a tip paying with a credit card so bring a few dollars if ordering like I did. I ordered a pork and cheese pupusa and the Fisherman's Wharf combo (seafood burrito and chicken flauta with rice and beans). They even included chips, salsa, and the slaw that typically accompanied pupusas. Everything was really good except the seafood burrito sad to say. The best way I can describe is that there was a canned or otherwise not so fresh taste to it and I'm a lover of imitation crab and store bought shrimp cocktails. I'd like to note that it didn't make me sick or anything, I just didn't like the taste. All in all, the meal cost about $12, and I'd definitely come back, I'll just try something without seafood on my next go around. read more

Although I've heard about and lived near this place for years, I didn't make it in until I moved far away from FSM. The rumors were true. They serve wonderful and authentic Latin American cuisine. The surprises of the experience were the good seafood options, and the wonderful and charming wait staff who served us. I don't like margaritas, but theirs were delicious. Their mango margarita was perfect...not too sweet. We had the Fisherman's combo (wonderful!), Mercedes favorite (great authentic food), and the seafood fajitas (good shrimp for an Arkansas establishment with good seasoning). My litmus test of all Mexican places are the beans and salsa. Both were very good. The salsa (& other dishes) had lots of fresh cilantro which is a good sign. Only complaint, salsa was a little runny for my liking. On my second visit, I was impressed by the well priced high end bourbon (Mmm!) and the red and green burrito. Love this place! read more

Food was ok. Had the three color burrito. Not a very big butrito. Small side of rice and beans. Place got great reviews so we tried it. Was a little let down. If the portions were bigger and I had an actual burrito rather than just steak rolled in a tortilla, then I would give it a higher rating. If you're good and hungry, move along. read more

We took my mom out to dinner for her 90th Birthday this past Monday and we searched YELP for a good Mexican place as this is her FAV! We found that Las Americas Too had 5 stars, I read the yelp reviews and found that everyone had consistently said their food and service were outstanding. We decided to check it out for ourselves. They prepared a nice table for all of us in the corner, the chips are prepared fresh there, they come out warm and they are not stingy to replenish them. The salsa was quite good too! Everyone had something different from the stuffed poblano chile, burritos, flautas, enchiladas, taco's, all were really, really good! They offer two sauces, maybe more, I had half green and half red and they were both very tasty, everyone cleaned their plates, it was that good! Mom was very happy with them singing to her happy birthday, I don't think that she had ever in her life had a sombrero on her head ;) It was a very nice evening with very good food, we would definitely go here again if in the area! read more

There isn't much to say that hasn't already been said. There is literally nothing bad on the menu. If you are anywhere near the Fort Smith area, Las Americas is a must. The three color burrito is my personal favorite. Grilled steak, and plenty of it, inside a flour tortilla topped with white queso, red enchilada sauce, and a spicy verde sauce. My family loves the papusas and the plantains. The homemade hot chocolate is like no other you've had. The flavor needs to be experienced. Cheap and delicious, very clean, great service. Try anything on the menu, it will be good. The pupusas are a great choice for a snack. The corn tamales are light and slightly sweet. Serving sizes are just right, you will be full but not stuffed. Unless you order those pupusas before dinner...they are addictive.This place is popular with all types of people, everyone gets a warm welcome. Get the mole sauce on a California burrito. It's fantastic. Skip the papusas though. The California burrito is HUGE.

Bright, clean dining; open kitchen. Friendly and helpful wait staff. Can't tell you about the "Mexican" food because I went straight for the Salvadoran items. I called in an order and was told that it would be 15 minutes. I waited at home for 10 minutes, then made the 15 minute drive across town to pick up my food. I arrive at the drive through window and wait for 15 minutes. A women opens the window and asks me what I have ordered. I tell her and she replies that it will be just a minute. She closes the window and I see no one for over 15 more minutes. I end up just leaving. An absolute waste of my time. They have decent food and are usually pretty friendly, but this is just unacceptable. The owner is very nice from prior experience, but a couple of her employees are just straight up incompetent. read more

The pictures looked wonderful so we drove a long way to try the food here. The chips were superb; probably some of the very best I've had anywhere! The salsa, equally delicious!! Reviews said the plantains were fantastic and I do agree. I loved the plantains but if I were to return for them I would have the beans and creamy dip that comes on the plate with them ordered on the side for personal tastes instead. All tasted good but I didn't want them altogether. The other items I ordered from the Salvadoran portion of their menu was flavorful and what we had seen in the photos and made the drive to have. I noticed they had a great price on a lunch special option when I was there. We didn't try that. Instead ordered the seafood enchilada with rice. Picture looked fabulous but food items on that plate were so so. The inside of the building is clean and looks nice. No complaints on customer service. The outside of the building isn't much to look at but don't let that stop you from giving this place a try. Best chips and salsa you will get anywhere!! read more

I bit into raw fish. My fish fillet and scallops were raw; they were undercooked. The only reason the shrimp was cooked because I am guessing it came cooked and they just had to heat it up. There was no lemon in the lemon cream sauce. The pico de gallo was in the cream sauce, what was of it......and the guacamole was a sliver of avocado. Instead I received watered down salsa that had a funky smell and taste to it. Too bad, the place looked clean and it was cute. read more

me and my fiance heard the food was really good here so we decided to try it and really liked it alot,we were told the papusas were great as appetizers but you can have several as a meal and we loved them,i have been craving more of them since we went ,i had their fajitas and they were good as well,alittle different in flavor then other places i have had fajitas because of added flavoring , their menu has alot to choose from!!!had a peach margarita and it was sooo fresh tasting!!!can't wait to go back and check out the other dishes!! read more

My family has been enjoying the food from Las Americas for over 12 years, since they were first located on Midland Blvd. Besides the amazing food, I am always impressed with the owners, their service, culinary talent and how they genuinely care for their clientele. They are especially gifted with their seafood dishes. Their spicy shrimp cocktail is not like any other, it is in a tall glass of a bloody Mary type of tomato juice and chocked full of huge tender chunks of shrimp, onion, pepper and avocado. My husband always drinks the juice after we've eaten the rest. Our favorite dishes are the ones we can't get at any other typical tex-mex restaurant, such as pastilitos, flautas, papusas with vinegar slaw. Most mexican restaurants the meat is al the same, it is just what it is wrapped in that changes, but not at Las Americas, where every individual dish has its own unique flavor. If you're too afraid to try something different than your usual mexican fare then order the Zacatecas combination plate, then next time (because you WILL go back!) branch out and try the seafood enchiladas:chunks of shrimp, crab and scallops in a creamy white sauce wrapped in a tortilla with a creamy lobster sauce poured over it....AHH-MAZING! read more
