We went here yesterday to experience their Taco Tuesday special. The parking lot was full when we arrive so we parked on the side street. There was a line and signs that direct you inside to pay for your tacos then you join the line with your receipt. The line didn't take as long as I expected. The tacos are really small so I'm glad I changed my mind and got 14. We got 9 Chicken (5/5) and 2 El Pastor (4/5), 2 Carne Asada (4/5), and 1 Barbacoa (3/5). So delicious. This place is making fresh from scratch tacos and other dishes. I came for the birria tacos and they did not disappoint. Came out hot and fresh with plenty of meat and cheese inside. The tacos were also very good. You can see them making the shells in the back from scratch. This is in a supermarket so they have other grocery items inside. It's fun to look around and explore while you wait on your food. The people working there were also very nice and friendly. It was pretty busy but for good reason. $.50 tacos??? count me in! Or at least thats what I was thinking when I drove down to Rock Hill after seeing 50 cent tacos on tiktok. I'm not saying they were bad.. not at all. They were tacos which right off the bat makes them delicious, but I've eaten tacos in every corner of the country and these aren't my fav. I tried the asada, carnitas, al pastor, chorizo, etc.. and can say they were definitely worth every bit of the 50 cents. This was a fun spontaneous late lunch in Rock hill. I was hungry after my optometrist appointment and felt like trying this spot I had seen on instagram. I love some authentic Mexican and South American cuisine. This spot was not far from the Dr office so it was quick and convenient location on cherry road. The outside definitely looks like grocery store more than anything else. Once you walk in they are very friendly and welcoming. The store has tons of items stacked floor to ceiling with tons of exotic authentic looking items. Fresh pastries, cookies, large produce area with fruit I have never seen before in traditional American grocery stores. As I made my way back to the hot foods/deli area in the back of the room the smells of hot fresh food filled the air. The menu is a mix of Spanish and English but you can figure out what everything is or easily use google to look them up. I ordered two chicken tacos and two Pupusas de frijol with queso. I had a slight language barrier with the lady taking the orders due to me knowing zero Spanish ( I should really learn enough to order food) but we got it all sorted with me pointing, haha. They made it fresh so I had time to browse the store and look at all the unique and interesting food they offered. Tons of options and loads of people streaming in and out of the store with bags of groceries. They didn't have silverware other than a spork so that made eating a bit of a challenge but I made it work and man it was worth it. This is advertised as a Supermarket but it's more than that. It's also a 'cocina' or kitchen as they have a take-out service in the rear of the store. It's more a blend of South/Central America than Mexican. They have Pupsas which are like tortilla's for tacos but they are made with a flour and are considered a flatbread. They are nothing like corn/maze tortillas. They have a 'Carniceria' with chicken, beef and pork selections all fresh everyday. For their tacos, they have a n extensive selections of meat. and all for $2.75 each and on Tuesday's they are .50 cents each however they are much smaller like 'street tacos'. The food quality is exceptional and they come with onions, cilantro and lime only, no substitutions. They have a cooler case with different types of salsas and a couple of different types of guacamole. The guacamole is outstanding so fresh and flavorful. They leave the seed pod in so it remains fresh! A nice variety of freshly prepared food to take out. I would highly recommend 'calling ahead' for you food order. Especially on Taco Tuesday's. They get very busy and the line get's long. All the regulars are calling their orders in. They have many varieties of hispanic branded dry goods and beverages as well as fresh vegetables. Stopped by for Taco Tuesday on the recommendation of a neighbor, and I was not disappointed. We have been coming here for almost 2 years now. First of BIRRIA TACOS the best there is. No one has better. I have tried them everywhere and this place hands down wins. They have gone up in price. Originally they were 4 for $12. Now, they are $16. They have recently remodeled the building and it's beautiful. The market is completely stocked very organized. They now have a antojitos truck outside. Such a cools idea. The food there is always fresh, and very flavorful. The service is great as well. Incredibly disappointed. We've been dying to try the tacos here based on the rave reviews, not only online but from word of mouth as well. As we pulled up, ready to eat, we noticed cases and cases of meat sitting outside. Full boxes. It was 50° outside and meat is supposed to be kept at at least 34° per health department guidelines. My husband still went inside and we then noticed the C rating. Knowing this and seeing meat just sitting out on the concrete made us wary and we ultimately decided we could not eat here and risk getting sick.
