We've been on a Mexican kick lately. The intense flavors and fresh fruit salsa are extremely appealing in this beautiful spring season. Today it is all about the tacos. The taco gringo is basically steak and all the toppings wrapped up in a softshell taco. So delicious. I would definitely order it again. Service is great. We've loved Las Brasas for years. The food is always great, service is always friendly, and the ambiance is as expected for a quick-serve mexican restaurant. We always visit when we're in the mood for something tasty and fast. Our faves here are; Enchiladas (mexicanas or supremas), Burritos (del fogon, bamba, or deluxe), Pollo Cancun or Chori-Pollo, Any of the Camarones - they're all delicious! We haven't yet tried any of the combos - but I'm sure they're as good as everything else. read more

The Scarlet Vetter says....so....where to go on a Friday night at 6 pm with no reservations when you are seeking great ethnic spicy food? Think no more, Las Brasas in East Aurora fits the bill. We had no wait, our drink orders were taken promptly and delicious tortilla chips and homemade slightly spicy salsa put right on the table. I ordered a giant fresh jalapeño margarita! Yum and HUGE. The food was authentic, came out quickly (20 minutes) and was still hot despite a busy kitchen. The parking needs a special note. For those from East Aurora it will come as no surprise, but the parking is behind the restaurant and you actually need to pass the restaurant on your left and turn down the next street then turn left into the second parking lot entrance (Tim Horton's driveway is first). The best entrance to the restaurant is in back right off this parking lot. The menu is very expansive .....something for everyone!!! The decor and ambiance is quite nice too. Very clean with nice booths and beautiful tables. The booths are very private as there are dividers that go almost to the cieling so you are definately getting a "private table" vibe in a booth. He also provided tomatoes to my friend's Taco salad when asked. He willing brought our table more salsa for our remaining chips. If you come here to eat, prepare to be here for a long time. Order the pitcher of margs. In fact, if you are doing this experience right, you order the pitcher, because you're probably going to be finishing it before your food comes. My boyfriend and I came here on a Saturday right before 6pm. We had to wait around 10 minutes at the door, and there was a line. We were seated, ordered our drinks, got our chips and salsa, which is my favorite part. My boyfriend got salsa on his shirt and we didn't have napkins or anything to clean it up. He used his mask. That meant we couldn't go out for a nightcap. I ordered a jalapeno margarita and a water. I got my water mid-food. So the marg was delightful, but I would have liked the water to accompany my drink. Earlier that day, we had watched a show on Michelada's and my boyfriend wanted one. Unfortunately, they don't serve them here, so he had Mexican beer. I ordered the shrimp tacos, which I really liked. They have corn tortillas, you just have to ask. My boyfriend had a chicken dish, and he enjoyed it as well. The service was fine. It was just very slow paced. So if you are half way through a beer, order another one, so hopefully you get one for your meal. Not my favorite Mexican place, but it is fine for East Aurora. Overall I would rate this a 3.5, in lieu of that being an option I rated them a 4 as to not overly ding them. I've never had bad food here, but I've also never had food I'm in a rush to have other people try. Some meals have been better than others, and I think consistency may be an area for them to work on. The food is served in gracious portions and I often find myself bringing home a heavy left over container of food I couldn't finish. I will also mention that I found my margaritas the last few times to be on the plainer side. Note- I'm not one of those people who needs to taste the alcohol and get punched in the face by it, but there does seem to be a heavy amount of ice lately leaving the remaining space for liquid limited. read more

The service wasn't that great. No real check-backs and she seemed to be in a hurry to go somewhere else, even though there was only 1-2 other tables occupied. The food did arrive quickly though. As with most Mexican restaurants, each table receives chips and salsa. The lunch menu was very extensive and the prices were reasonable. I found the kids menu to be the same way. The kids taco salad was a smaller version of an adult taco salad in a deep fried shell. It came with your choice of shredded chicken or ground beef, guacamole, sour cream, shredded cheese, and lettuce and tomato of course. We also ordered both the kids enchiladas and burritos; however, there seemed to be no real difference. Both were just meat rolled up in a shell and covered in a cheese sauce. I wanted to ask what the difference between the two was supposed to be, but our server wasn't around. All the kids dishes were good portion sizes. Hello, reporting from my bathroom, I'm Mark. Tonight 12/4, was our fourth time ordering out from Las Brasas and possibly our last. My chorizo chicken burrito was more chicken covered in old chorizo trimming thick in oil. It was unpleasantly salty and a grease hazard on the inside. The aftertaste was that of a badly burned chorizo chicken but those don't exist. My wife's platter was a pool of sour cream, refried beans and rice that had so much water that it became a soup. A gross americano mexican soup. See, this is NOT how Mexicano food is supposed to look or taste. This was rushed preparation by untrained line cooks. When I walked in for the pickup I noticed 5-6 bags of food on a table. None of the receipts had names and everyone's Covid hands were fumbling around the food as we all tried to read the receipts to determine whose food was whose. That's a bad sign, fellas. This often means a Bar Rescue is desperately needed. But John Taffard would kick someone's ass at this American Mess Up. Call the troops. I'm still in the bathroom. Oh, and our toddler saw the orange rice and cried. "I want Chipotle" she screamed. "I'm not driving out to Chipotle, honey, so what do you want?" "Cheese pizza," our cute little ballerina said after being exposed to orange rice and a soggy, stretchy tortilla with some orange processed cheese. Enjoyed dinner here last weekend while eating outside on the patio. I was glad they had an outdoor option because I'm not comfortable enough being inside yet because of covid. It was a bonus that the jumbo daiquiri was the same price as the regular and probably eased my nerves a bit too! The portions here are huge and prices are good but I did not love the seasoning of the meat (I had 1 chicken burrito and 1 beef burrito). The rice though was the best I've ever had and the queso was delicious. Oh and the loaded fries were amazing because they came with queso on them. Another thing that could've been better was that our appetizers came out as the same time as our dinner so it was a lot (too much) of food at once. We have come here on a couple occasions and the food has been good each time. We both ordered the flautas deluxe that is served with both chicken and steak. The chips and salsa are great and we also ordered queso for the chips which is very tasty. I've dropped a star on the review because in the past two visits we have made I have ordered the same beverage, a Sol Mexican bottled beer, and each time the date on the bottle it's past its expiration by about 2 months. Decided to try this place for dinner with two friends. We were greeted right away, but the hostess did try to sit us at a clearly dirty booth, so she had us wait while she wiped it all down. Our server stopped over right away with chips and salsa and took our drink orders, margarita, Modelo draft and Modelo bottle of beer. For our meals we ordered the Burrito Bamba, El Fogon Burrito and the the Burrito Deluxe with a side of beans. We did need to flag down our server for another round of drinks and more chips and salsa and the food seemed to take a little longer than I thought it should even though it wasn't overly busy. The food was hot on hot plates though once it did come out. One of us had asked for rice instead of beans, and another double beans, no rice, but because our server didn't write anything down, the person who ordered double beans did not get that. The burritos were all very tasty and two were huge, enough for a second meal! The sour cream "salad" that came with them was a little strange, but made for more of an addition to the burritos than an actual salad. Our server never came to check on us after the food was delivered by someone else. It wasn't until we were done that she finally came over to ask if we needed boxes or anything else. The food is Awesome stuff. The service is pretty mediocre. The food is really authentic Mexican food. Not crappy American Mexican food that we're buried with weekly and call ourselves multi cultural. This is the real deal, mole sauce - corn tortilla, food. Yes the service is usually mediocre but worth dealing with because of the food. Not one time was the food less than awesome. It's hard to find authentic now-a-days, but even worse it's hard to find just plain old consistency; but after three visits here, it's been simply really good each time. Service is a little too laid back/slow, but as long as we have unlimited chips and salsa, conversations come easy, right?! If you truly want a bang for your buck meal, come here! We decided to try Las Brasas on a whim for dinner while driving through East Aurora. It was a Friday night and the place was already pretty busy. We managed to get one of the last open tables. We noticed right away that the staff seemed harried; they probably could have used at least 1-2 more people helping with the tables. Vegetarian options were extremely limited- as in only 2 options (vegetarian enchiladas or fajitas). My boyfriend and I both decided to get the vegetarian fajitas with guacamole to start. Our entrees came out one plate at a time over the course of 5-10 minutes. Our fajita veggies came out on the sizzling platter and actually stopped sizzling before anything else came out. Then we got the plate of lettuce/pico/beans/rice. A few minutes after that, we finally got the fajita tortillas. And we had to remind our server that we had ordered guacamole a few times before it actually arrived. The veggies themselves were OK. It was a nice assortment of broccoli, carrot, onion, pepper, zucchini, and cauliflower. We did notice that they were extremely oily though which was off-putting. The guacamole was a tad on the bland and boring side, yet not the worst I've been served at a WNY Mexican restaurant. The complimentary salsa was delicious and we really enjoyed the chips. My favorite local Mexican restaurant is Fiesta Bomba in Springville that's a an hour drive and not a place we would go unless we are in the area. As soon as I looked at the menu I saw many similar menu items here that I order at Fiesta Bamba.. I asked the server and yes it's the same family here and at Fiesta Bomba! Wow, Lucky me! Service was really quick, two different ladies waited on us and both were really friendly. Great prices! I went with the California burrito, I have had it before at the other location. It is fabulous, great flavor I highly recommend giving it a try. Very clean facility. To one of the previous posts that said this was and still looks like a Burger King, I had no indication of that at all besides in the men's bathroom the walls had red and yellow tile. If you have not been give it a try I know you'll love it. My option the prices are a lot more in love to what they should be compared to the other Mexican in town. read more

The atmosphere was very pleasant and colorful. The servers were polite and friendly. I went on a Wed around one pm and there was a few tables of people, but was not to crowded. The tacos I ordered where not authentic as I was hoping for. You can choose between the crunchy shell or the flour tortillas. I asked for the more authentic corn tortillas. The corn tortillas were provided after I asked for them, but they were not doubled and they were soggy and fell apart easily. Neither the shredded chicken or the ground beef was as expected. The ground beef was especially greasy and the chicken lacked flavor. They also serve chips and salsa without any additional fee, but neither was especially good. It will be interesting to see if the food quality improves at this restaurant. The location is great & the service is good. read more

Food here was surprisingly excellent. Some of the best Mexican i have had in Buffalo. The sauces are super flavorful. Food was hot and fresh. Margarita special was only $6. They even had a mango margarita. Chips and salsa were average/nothing special. I can't wait to try the other dishes.... Some unusual Mexican dishes on the menu too!! My only complaint ..... the server acted like she didn't want to be there. She seemed miserable. I would still highly recommend trying the food here. Oh! Plus they have an outdoor patio! read more

I went last night for a late dinner at about 8pm. We stood awkwardly for about 5-10 minutes waiting for a server to greet and seat us. When we did get seated, the server forgot the drink menu. Which is not a big deal at all, but it took about another 10 minutes for someone to approach us and ask what we wanted to drink. I asked for a drink menu, once we got that we waiting another 10 minutes for the sever to come back. The server was a young kid, and He was very nice but seemed to be oblivious to the people he was serving. I got the Texas margarita which was delicious. We ordered the Guadalajara special and the floutas. They were both absolutely OUTSTANDING dishes. I cannot say enough how impressed I was with the food. When it was delivered, we didn't have any silverware, and our server took about 5 minutes to bring our silverware. Sat on the patio, it was very nice atmosphere. Honestly I really liked this place and I will be coming back! I think that if the service can be improved a little this place will do fantastic! The pricing was also very reasonable. Well what can I say here its just I the overall experience has been going down. I use to and still kinda say I absolutely love the food. The flavor and portion size is worth the money but dont think of asking for another basket of chips. You will either be served a very small refill or be told that you will have to pay for them unless you order a dip. I find this ridiculous with a party of 5/6 to share one basket along with the bill usually over 100$ not including a tip. Ok, so now drinks, they have gone from wow to I won't order a margarita again. In the past two times that I have ordered one both have been watered down and have no mix in them. Not looking for a loaded drink but just a good old margarita. Next the service, this honestly depends on who is waiting on you. I really wish they would go back to the ways they ran things before and even during the beginning of Covid days. I will try one more time to give them the benefit of the doubt. read more

I found strands of plastic in the rice, and small pieces of clear plastic in the peppers and onions after showing the waitress 15 min goes by and I finally call another girl she takes the plastic and supposedly shows a manager and another 10 min goes by. Then this kid comes over and tell me where these items came from and say you ate almost half so the owner say you have to pay half. Our server was sweet, and attentive. The salsa was good, pureed enough to stay on the chips! Dinner was prompt. The rice was incredibly bland, pinkish-red with no sign of onions, peppers or veggies. The black beans I requested when my dish was only accompanied by rice, were hot and had more texture than refried, but had no seasoning, they seemed to be heated, canned beans. The main course, a beef burrito and a chicken fajita, were hot! The burrito was a good size, it stayed wrapped, had good flavor and was enjoyable. The fajita was better! The chicken was tasty! I just wish the chicken hadn't been so wet when the fajita was folded, it made the shell very slimy and it had to be eaten with a fork and knife because picking it up was not an option, it was very drippy. My dates meal is a mystery! He consumed it so quickly, he was very pleased with the taste, texture and flavor of the shrimp enchiladas! They smelled divine! The salad was small but nice, and again, pink rice. We'll go again, it was overall okay. I think lingering over chips and margaritas for a bit first, may be the best idea yet! read more

Chips and salsa were good, but our meals were average at best I had ordered chile rellenos....it came filled with ground beef.....i don't eat meat... I ordered the burrito de luxe which had both a chicken and beef smothered burrito. They were both very good! My husband ordered the JUMBO burrito. It was huge! He had pork carnitas inside and it was also very good. He ordered a Chile poblano and you can pick what you would like inside. He ordered the steak tips- it was so delicious! Stopped in with my wife for a meal while we were on a motorcycle ride. Seated quickly and staff was friendly. As with many Mexican restaurants the food came out fast and was hot. The very first impression was the food looked nothing like the pictures in the menu. This however was a very good thing the food looked amazing and was much larger portions then the pictures implied. my husband and I were on our way to actually another Yelp event and we wanted to grab Mexican at this new restaurant East Aurora before hand so we stopped in for a quick dinner. To our surprise we found out it's the same owners as the Fiesta Bamba restaurant in Springville which is our favorite Mexican restaurant in Western New York!! The extensive menu is the same I ordered the chicken flautas and they were delicious! The chips and salsa were just as good too!
