    Birria tacos
    Alex L.

Are you kidding me?! This place is as good as it gets. You need to drive, fly, hike, hitchhike to Dunkirk to check out this delightful taqueria. The food was off the wall. My only regret is that they were out of tamales and I so wish I could try some of it with the mole sauce. I ordered the nachos, a burrito and the birria tacos. Everything was ON POINT. The nachos were perfect with the chorizo sausage, jalapenos over harder tortillas that did not get too soggy over time. The birria tacos were BOMB! Loved being able to dip these babies. What a treat! The burrito, I only tried a bite off, but the steak burrito was so amazing that writing about it now is giving me hunger pains. The price is right, the customer service is authentic and real & the food is worth driving 60 miles for. Definitely don't skip by if you're passing through and love some good Mexican.

Chicken enchiladas! Somehow I forgot a picture of the tamales.

Short walk from the Dunkirk Pier and Clarion Hotel on Central Ave. We've been getting the tacos for a few years now and just tried the enchiladas and tamales. Everything is delicious, including the rice and beans! A favorite stop for us when in Dunkirk.

    Tacos... Yummy

Great little place to eat quality authentic Mexican food in Dunkirk. I ate at one of the two tables they have. You never know who you may run into while eating. I met and was sitting next to Mayor Wildord Rosa's (Dunkirks Mayor). I will definitely eat here again next time in in the area.

We come down from Buffalo to eat at Taqueria Mexicana every other weekend. The place is clean and bright, the people friendly, and the food is out of this world. Seriously. Today we had the amazing spicy pork burrito and the even more amazing tacos birria. The tacos birria is made with meltingly tender brisket, cheese, and a slightly spicy sauce - I don't know how it's prepared but it's very juicy and just ridiculously delicious. Every single bite is that good. Everything we've tried here has been excellent, including the tres leches cake and the flan. Even as we're driving back to Buffalo, my husband is still exclaiming, My taste buds are so happy! We will be back ....

While headed home to Buffalo from Chautauqua, we decided to stop for lunch and checked Yelp for any Mexican restaurants along our route. I was happily surprised to find a five-star option in Dunkirk--and even happier to find that the rave reviews were totally correct! The food is more authentically Mexican (not Tex-Mex or Mexican-American) than most of our options in this area. The friendly woman at the counter was happy to make me a veggie burrito, even though it wasn't listed on the menu (and it was delicious!). My husband had a chicken burrito and was practically licking his plate clean at the end. TIP: This is a tiny shop--just one or two tables in front of the counter. The signage is also a little hard to miss from the car. Keep your eyes open or it's easy to drive right past it!

Steak enchiladas in a Verde sauce

I'll echo everyone else in vouching it's definitely some of the best, most authentic, Mexican food in WNY. We got steak enchiladas In Verde sauce with rice and beans, chips that came with a little cup of green salsa/sauce (this was different than the Verde sauce that came with the enchiladas), birria tacos, and a beef empanada. They have an awesome selection of different tropical pops to pick from along with typical pop and water (they had Goya and some other tropical brands). We got one of our favorites ,Guava Goya. The beef empanada were the only disappointing part of the meal, it was dry and lacked that juicy flavor of a really good empanada. On the reverse the birria tacos were so juicy and flavorful and the juice to dip them in was wonderful, it was all heavenly. I definitely think their tacos are the standout. The cups of the red and green sauces that come with the tacos/ nacho chips are pretty small though so my advice is to ask if you can pay for a couple extra cups of the red and green sauces so you can add as much extra flavor to your food as you want. The steak enchiladas were very tasty too but I think next time I got my eye on the spicy pork tacos. The beans were very very flavorful and rice was good but pretty standard. We will definitely be back!

Authentic dishes. Many choices. Enchiladas on point. Sauces are flavorful--both mild and hotter.

My wife had the keto bowl with the sweet potatoes and queso which was also super good! Finished it all off with a churro. If you leave without the churro there's something wrong with you! I got marinated shrimp nachos which were very delicious . The picture was take out so obviously it doesn't do the taste justice. I would personally like the medium salsa to have a bit more kick to it but next time I know to get the hot . The chips themselves were very good . I also got a pulled pork burrito bowl. (Not pictured because it was devoured too quickly) Again very flavorful. The corn was great. The rice was a little hard, but the pulled pork and other toppings stole the show. I look forward to trying the tacos/burritos and various other proteins available and updating my review as I do. The only thing I'd recommend is giving some kind of utensils to eat with and napkins with the Togo orders. I wanted to get out of the house and eat somewhere but I had to go home for a fork.

What an Ordeal! We arrived at Mariacho de Oro at 8 pm…read moreon a Saturday night in Medina. We've been here 2 other times and the food was good. I was told it was under new owners now. 6 of us arrived via 2 vehicles . They would not seat anyone until we all arrived. Even though the inside restaurant was empty. Many people , full parking lot were seated on the patio. We were told immediately before being seated that for a party of 6 that we needed to pay a gratuity of 18% and NO separate bills. NO PROBLEM, this is not unusual. The inside is nice and colorful. The waitress informed us that we needed to order fast since the kitchen would not accept orders after 8:20 pm and they were closing at 9 pm. I ordered a small bowl of Sopa de pollo and Sopes with pork. It was good but pork tasted a little off for me. Hubby ordered Rib eye dinner. He didn't like the rice. 2 people had Pollo Don Gollo and really liked it. ( chicken with pineapple) Another had Tia Lola's chicken & shrimp. She liked it. Everyone was satisfied with their dinners. Plates had ample food. Then, while we were eating, they came out of the kitchen with a bucket and mop and proceeded to mop the tile floor. The odor of pine sol was so strong, you could taste it while eating. We asked them to stop. The waitress kept apologizing for rushing us. When the bill came, I was charged $1.50 more for the soup than was stated on the menu. The waitress disappeared, never to be seen to correct it. The cashier was gone so we left the money on the table. The staff at this place was very serious about getting out of here by 9 pm.
