I had Tacos Carnitas. I enjoy carnitas, I'd give them a 5, the refried beans were a 5, I don't usually eat them in most restaurants because they have no flavor. I could have had just a bowl of those beans and been happy. I like a lighter chip, these were heavier, and I'd prefer more salt. The salsa was nothing special, but I did put some of it on my tacos. We got guacamole, and it was disappointing. It appeared as though they possibly ran short on avocados, something creamy had been added which showed up in the consistency and diluted the avocado taste, my guess is sour cream. So they lost a star because of the chips and salsa and the guacamole, your mileage may vary if those types appeal to you. Our service experience was great, we were seated quickly, waiter was on top of it, we got our drinks and our order taken quickly, and the food was there immediately. Both my meal and my wife's meal were very hot. My first time in norton KS, surprised to see a Mexican restaurant in these parts. I was pleasantly surprised at how authentic the food and ambiance was. We ordered parillada. All the food with steaks, chicken, beef fajitas, shrimp and fish. It was so much more food for two people than as advertised. In all Very good. The pictures told me to go and try it ! We arrived and ordered the skillet for two ! Wow it was delicious. It had steak chicken fish shrimp fajita meat fajita chicken and chorizo !! Highly recommend. We love our Mexican food and almost always get a big order of fajitas to share. It taste really good. Had tons of flavor to them. Margaritas were fire! Most places are stingy with the tequila but not them! You could taste it over everything. They were busy as heck when we was there and only two waitresses, one running around trying to check on everyone and one was to busy talking and hanging around one table with people they obviously knew. My mother-in-law knows the owner, Carols, but was still treated with disrespect so good luck. Another female owner was very rude to us for numerous times during our $115 plus tab. We ate heavy appetizers/shared plates and numerous drinks but this female owner made a point to come out and yell at us for not ordering enough food. She came around and took our utensils back off our table and said we did not order enough. We had 6 adults and 3 kids and she would only allow us to have 6 sets of sliver-ware due to food sharing. Chips do work for utensils but we also were rationed on those. The female owner was the main reason for the 2-star review. Our waiter and food were fine just difficult to eat with our hands. I recommend driving 30 minutes to another town or just pick up some chips and margaritas at the local Jamboree. read more
