Enchiladas are always amazing. Rice and beans always excellent. The charo beans are some of the best I've ever had. The Mexican style corn is weird and tastes like lime and tajin. The seasoned ground beef enchiladas are always always excellent. The chips however are always cold and stale by the time they arrive. Lime chipotle sauce is super awesome. But for some reason my order is always missing something. Either salsa, extra toppings I ordered, something. Food is really good. I will try something besides enchiladas next time but for now they are doing a good job. Just missing a few points for chips and missing items. They usually pump the food out really fast and DoorDash gets here really quickly. Just hopeful they can tighten up their delivery system and consistency in orders. If I had reviewed this restaurant after my first visit, I would have given them a 3. But they had just opened for the day and they had just opened period a few days before. The main dish was ok but the beans and soup were both cold. Turns out they had forgotten to turn on the element that morning. Ok. I can deal with that. Since that first visit, we have been back 3 times. The second and third time was because the Girly is a Mexican food junky and we have had a hard time finding a place we can both stomach. The fourth time, it was me asking to go. I was jonesing for their fried chimichanga. It's really good. Well balanced and not too salty. Served with avocado salad and 2 sides and it's a big meal. The girly usually orders beef tacos, simple and easy and not very flashy. But that's what she liked. This last time, she ordered the chicken quesadilla (Knock it off, Napoleon! Make yourself a dang Case a dilla!) It was fantastic, GOSH!. No seriously. Just like my chimichanga, it was perfectly seasoned. The customer service is usually spot-on (Might want to avoid the kid with the faux-hawk though. He's not too attentive) and the place is always sparkling clean. Oh. And if you don't want the booze but want something different, they make a great Horchata. I'm so happy it made it past the third time rule. I hate that damned rule. read more

We're regulars at Las Cazuelas. The food is not amazing, but it's cheap, solid, Mexican-American food. I recommend requesting the tomatillo salsa if you are a heat freak (small charge), as the regular salsa won't cut it (we like to mix them, 50/50). The service is always good, and sometimes they have live music. We've heard a great mariachi band there, and it's also a good place to catch sports, especially if you're a soccer fan. read more

It's the little things that go a long way. This is the first time I had a water at a restaurant and the waitress asked if I wanted a to go cup at the end of my meal. As soon as I came back from the bathroom and saw the the ample amount of salsa and chips on the table I knew I was in for a treat. Since I'm trying to eat somewhat healthy I had the salmon which was recommended by my wonderful waitress and it did not disappoint. Some of the best if ever had actually. The guacamole salad, Mexican rice and soup as sides where equally as awesome. This is the best Mexican in the GNO area for sure. And the place has a awesome bar I will definitely try out next time here. People in New Orleans need to come to the Wank for some genuine Mexican food bc this place is the bomb. read more

The first thing I noticed about Las Cazuelas Grill was that most of the tables were configured for groups of six or more. This is noteworthy to me because I often dine out with large groups and it's rare to find a restaurant that is happy to accommodate. (Most do it grudgingly.) I started off with a small banana Margarita, priced at $5.25. When I got the bill at the end of the meal, it was listed as $7.50. I didn't want to make a bill deal about it, but will be sure to check next time in case the extra charge is because it was a flavored Margarita. The chips and salsa were absolutely excellent. Chips were freshly fried and not stale. Salsa was chunky and spicy. I ordered a combo plate with a chicken flauta, chile relleno, taco, beef enchilada and beef burrito. It came with a side of guacamole and pico de gallo and the side item of my choice. I chose rice, which was very bland. The chicken flauta and taco were good. The chile relleno was soggy. Beef enchilada and beef burrito were indistinguishable, both had the same red sauce on top. They were okay. I believe this combo plate was the most expensive thing on the menu at $12.99, so it was a good deal. The portion size was very large. I ate the entire flauta and taco, which satisfied me since I had already eaten my weight in chips and salsa. I ended up taking the rest of the rice, enchilada, burrito and chili relleno home. It is enough for another meal but since it wasn't that great I probably won't bother eating it. My friends and I split some flan, it was scrumptious. Everyone else's dishes looked good, especially my friend's chicken soup, which was offered as a side item when ordering a combo plate. The waitress was nice and made a good effort. She was kind to offer to split the checks after we dined, in spite of the fact that we had not requested it before we ordered. There was a credit card mix-up but easily resolved with no grumbling. It's conveniently located directly across the street from the movie theater, so we will probably go back. read more

Take Out order went smoothly: 1 Small Cheese Dip L7 Chili Con Carne L18 Fajitas, Shrimp with black beans and Mexican style corn (no tomato/pico/guac) Order was perfect, except in my enthusiasm to be precise I confused the person who took the order and they put down that I wanted corn tortillas instead of flour ones. When I arrived, I reviewed the order and noticed the mistake on the receipt and the hostess immediately addressed it with the kitchen. Food was exactly as ordered. Cheese dip was fabulous, chips were fresh, there were 16(!!!!!) shrimp with my fajita order, and the only complaint was from my guy who said he probably wouldn't order the L7 again because he didn't realize it came with a burrito and thought the burrito was strange. Idk how long my food has been sitting before coming to me. The beans have a crispy outer crust on top of them my chile rellenos have a dryness to them that I know is from sitting for a while. I ate at the new location on Belle Chasse Hwy. It was a very, very hot day and I wanted something cool and lite. Had the crazy salad with shrimp, it was very good. I asked the waitress to have the cook cut up my lettuce and spinach, as I was being lazy and did not want to cut it up myself. They did it without hesitation. This is a great place to eat. Hmmm, Mexican food. So delectable, so tasty. And not just for Mexicans anymore gabacho. So we found ourselves driving to Target on the W. Bank, some would call the best bank, and suddenly a case of the Hangries beset the parties of the Prius.. We had initially thought to head to Chick Fill-a, however made a split second decision to pull into this little establishment. First, no wait.. this was a plus. Attentive staff, also a plus. Clean restaurant, to be expected but I'll give them a plus for this. We were seated quickly and ordered fod for the wee ones. As I have said before, if you are a server and a family with toddlers happens upon your Restaurant, ALWAYS offer to take the kids order FIRST, this is essential because when toddlers are seated at a table, NOT eating, they tend to grab for every thing on said table. When they get food quickly, they are happier, happy toddlers = Happy Parents, Happy Parents = Larger Tips, and Larger Tips = Happy Wallet.. Chips and salsa, good, not awesome, but good. Food, tasty, y only complaint was my Spanish style rice, while tasty, was a little dry as though it had sat in a warmer for a little too long. Prices were very reasonable. The place is very large. We arrived during an off time so it was relatively empty and we were given a choice of seating. We chose a booth and were given their huge menu. The menu is a book with six pages and over 100 different platters, sides, a la carte items, and plates. We made selections and ordered the Chorizo and cheese dip. The chorizo was spicy and there was a lot of it. The portion of cheese was not sufficient to cover the amount of chorizo, but it was fine. I ordered a platter with a beef and bean burrito which was ok and the best thing I got. the platter also included a chicken quesadilla, a cheese stuffed chile. The sided I chose were the refried beans and Mexican corn. All of it was just ok, nothing spectacular. I do have to say the portion sizes are large, so that's a plus. read more

My husband and I have been here a few times, and have really enjoyed our experience every time. The servers are friendly and attentive, and the food always tastes very fresh and delicious. Being from Texas, I've been let down by every other "Mexican" and "Tex Mex" restaurant we've been to in this area (Cheddar cheese ain't Tex Mex!), and was hesitant when we tried this place out, but was plesantly surprised on our first visit. This place is spot on with both their Tex Mex and authentic Mexican dishes. On our first visit, I had the pork carnitas, which were amazing, flavorful, tender, and juicy. I had it with their chicken soup (surprisingly cheesy, but tasty) and guacamole salad. The next time, I had the huevos chorizo. The eggs were a little dry, but the chorizo is so rich in flavor and fatty, it made up for it, and was especially delicious with some of their shockingly green habanero sauce. I had guacamole salad (I have it every time, I'm a fit girl, I need my non starchy veg!) and borracho beans, which was quite tasty. My last meal before today was their chicken ranchero with a double portion of salad. That's the only meal I wasn't fond of, because, while the meat was well seasoned, it was drowning in cheese, which was too much for me. This evening, I had the chicken fajita taco salad (minus cheese and sour cream, and I left the taco bowl behind). The meat and veggies were perfectly sautéed and seasoned, the guacamole added the right amount of richness, and the salsa from the table (Judging by the irregular cut onion, I think it's homemade! ) added some needed brightness. Overall, it was an excellent salad! My husband has gotten various combination plates, and has thuroughly enjoyed them all. The portions of all of their meals are generous, they don't skimp on meat, and everyhing is well seasoned! The dessert portions are excellent, as well! My husband and son have split an order of sopapillas (6), with a couple leftovers, and the man ordered churros on an afternoon date while our son was at school, and brought home 2 out of the three large churros that came in the order! This is my favorite place to go for taco Tuesday but today might change that. Their tacos are no longer $1 they are $2 each. The waitress informed me that when we sat down and she said the tacos are suppose to be a little bigger though. When we got the tacos they weren't that big at all, they seemed even smaller to me actually then what they used to be. Some of my tacos did not have much meat in them either. I'm rating 4 stars because I love how polite and respectful the workers are there but I hope they bring back the $1 tacos and not be so greedy with the meat. Probably won't return back. read more

The bf and I have eaten here several times. The menu is large, mostly because they're suggesting a variety of combinations of their staples rather than offering a la carte. Salsa is good; chips generally aren't greasy. Refried beans aren't anything to write home about, but provide good texture when combined with the queso dip. My bf likes the enchiladas; I like the shredded chicken in the quesadillas and taco salad. This isn't a WOW place for me, but it's good enough to be on the rotation of places that we hit up on lazy don't-feel-like-cooking nights. read more

Not a fan. Ordered frozen Top shelf margarita and I don't know about you but if I pay $12.00 for a drink I want to taste at least a little bit of liquor. The chorizo cheese dip was pretty good. Recommend you skip on the salsa that comes with the chips. It has a kick to it but it's pretty much just tomato juice. I ordered the Tacos Mexicanos. I only ate 2 of the 4. I've been there twice, had the Mahi dinner the first time and a Cazuelas Fajitas the second. The fish steak was fresh, seasoned and grilled just right and topped with a generous serving of grilled mushrooms, spinach, onion, peppers and a hint of tomatoes. The Fajitas are delicious as well, but those you can get just about everywhere. This guys have a nice variety of seafood dishes with their own touch. I'm sold!! read more

I would have actually rated this place a two star for the food but raised it an extra star only because our server was really on point. I had the shrimp chimichanga and my boyfriend Alex had the flautas. The chimi was bland and not on point at all. I enjoyed the queso on it to make there some sort of flavor. Alex said the flautas were also bland and just didn't do it for him. If I am on this side of the river I would not return here. We tried this place because it is close to AMC theater and was looking for good Mexican food close by. This is sadly not it. read more

I had a good experience. The waiter was really nice and efficient. I ordered one of the combination dishes to get a taste of what they had to offer: the enchilada, tamal, and taco. It was good. Nothing big, your typical Mexican restaurant. However the selection is huge, even vegetarian dishes, and their ingredients seem quite fresh. However the salsa tasted like ketchup with cilantro, the guacamole was store or package bought and the mole lacked its characteristic zing. All in all there are better places cropping up on the Westbank, like blissful delicious weeds, all over the place. But then again its better than Zea's or Friday's across the street! read more

I LOVE this place. The food is amazing and the prices are great. I live in Chicago for a while and they had amazing mexican food, this is one of those places that taste like what I ate in Chicago. And the best part(for me) is the horchata! Not many mexican restaurants have it and they do. The only bad thing is the parking lot isn't very big so it may be hard to find a spot close by on a really busy night. My husband is mexican and knows his stuff and he loves this place, says it reminds him of home. We very rarely try other mexican restaurants in the area because we always wind up coming back. They even have a live band playing weekends. read more
