The best "hole in the wall" I've found in a long time. It's a very small place and while the inside doesn't look like most restaurants, it's nice to eat good food in a place that feels like a living room sometimes. The woman working was very friendly and the Pastor and Chicharron tacos were amazing! Drinking a Jarritos with good tacos is one of the best eating experiences out there and I was very satisfied. The bathroom was very clean as well and the prices were definitely fair for Louisiana tacos. I will definitely go back whether to get quick tacos to-go or to dine-in again. Good salsa too! read more

Not friendly and they gave themselves a nice 20% tip without asking. Food is cold, the kitchen is filthy, and they will not serve you water. They will ring up your order on a calculator and charge your card without showing you an itemized ticket. The Barbacoa tacos were EXCELLENT! The salsa was puzzling when I first saw it, but it's really just more of a consommé. I used my refried beans to dips my chips in, and it was perfect. The orange and green salsas were both way too spicy, but I did not need them. I only ended up going here, because it was a 3 minute walk from my hotel. The girl that took my order didn't know much English but was VERY sweet and accommodating. It's just a small taco spot, nothing fancy, but very authentic & flavorful. There is even one right down the street from me inside one of the c-stores on Loyola Dr. This location is on the I-10 Service Rd in a converted trailer. While some people wouldn't give this location a thought because of it being in a trailer I look past it and just think about the food. The food here is downright yummy! Their meats are all tender and flavorful. Selections include tacos, enchiladas, burritos (huge burritos), carne asada plates, menudo, and football-sized tortas (a Mexican po-boy IMO). You can order your choice of meat for any of their dishes. The different meats include tongue, pork skin, shredded pork, grilled beef, bbq pork, or chicken. Service is quick and the prices are reasonable. Don't be scared of the Mexican food being served from this trailer. Your taste buds will thank you later. read more

Plus it's open 24 hours on friday and Saturday nights when you have those late night cravings! Unless you know Spanish you will have to point to what you want which is easy because the menu has pictures. I ordered a shredded beef and a pork taco on a soft flour tortilla with cheese, guacamole and sour cream inside! Man, it was good! Plus the green sauce has some kick so I gently dipped a little with each bite! I definitely want to try all their tacos now! Plus, while we were waiting there some bowls of food that looked delicious and were being served to the patrons inside the restaurant. My friends ordered the torta (huge football size sandwich), tacos, and chips and guacamole which everyone enjoyed their respective dishes. Keep in mind I take it as a good sign when I see Hispanic people eating at a Mexican joint. Plus if the people that work there are Hispanic and speak Spanish-even better! Taqueria Sanchez on the westbank is one of my favorite places to get authentic tacos. I recently moved to the eastbank and I'm so happy that they have a location in Metairie too! There's very limited parking but I've never had trouble finding a spot thus far. The restaurant is a little building off of the service road and you can even dine in! The food cooks fast too so I'm not being tortured by the delicious smells in there for too long hehe. read more

I have eyed this place so many times, and blown past it, but we finally stopped. small, quaint, friendly staff, and smells so good. What was brought to the table reminded me of being in Mexico on the beaches at Zihuatenejo. Excellent good home cooking and authentic. You should know what yo expect when you decide to go to this place, but my friends sold me the place like the "best tacos in town". Don't get me wrong, tacos were good, I don't think they are the best in town though. My favorites were the Al Pastor taco, they were very authentic, good authentic. The Barbacoa tacos were missing some flavor or consistency or something, not sure why, but they didn't make it for me. I thought soups would be awesome, but the beef soup was a big disapointment. The soup was obviously frozen and they just microwaved it. Meat was ice cold, while the broth was kind of warm. Also you could see the fat separated from the broth. We had a side of frijoles which were extremely salty. The horchata was on point, a little watery but I guess I like it like that. The green sauce complimented it so well but beware it's very spicy. Besides the food the employees were very nice and welcoming. Small little restaurant right off the service road in Metairie. I've had various tacos all over the city from NOLA to Houston and Dallas. Honestly, they are pretty average to most of the taco joints in the city. I'd say the one I liked the most was the Al pastor, which is usually my go-to. The others seemed to lack flavor which all tasted closely the same, just prepared as a different type of meat. Also, the prices for the tacos are quite expensive for $3 a pop, or a little less for corn tortilla. Most taco stands I've been to are about $2, or in Texas, under $2. The little lady at the counter was very nice and helpful and seemed to know all about customer service which usually gets me coming back. There are other items on the menu that they provide, but if the meats on the tacos were mediocre, I'm afraid to try other items. My only other concern is the limited space around the restaurant for parking. You kind of have to find a little spot to park and hope you don't get blocked in. But would I come back? Probably so, but only if I'm really craving for some street tacos and that's the only place that's near. read more

I WAS a regular customer and loved this place at one point now i stopped going there because of the bad experiences. .. 1. Was over charged couple times by the cashier ok we talked it out And moved on. 2.The cook didn't feel like making my 5$ order so he lied and said they didn't have it. 3. Every time i ordered tacos here i would tell them No onions or cilantro ONE time i forgot to tell him (the owner) so he gives me my tacos with onions when i told him i didn't want the onions he said " you didn't tell me to leave it out" i told him you know i always come here and order the same thing to which he replies " i don't know what you want and i can't remake tacos".
