Las Delicias Del Mar is hands down one of my favorite spots in Canyon Country. I've been eating here for over 5 years, and I don't play when it comes to their food... I always get the taco plate and the red enchiladas. The tacos though? Out of this world. Honestly, I probably hype them up too much, but they're just that good. I eat here no less than three times a month because nothing else hits the same. The staff is always cool and the service is A1 whether I dine in or take it to go. I've been here so much that when I call, they already know who I am and what I'm ordering. Either they know my voice by now, or maybe they just have caller ID who knows . Food is ok but the Staff here seem like they could care less that you are a customer. They don't say "hello" or "can I help you" so I'm not sure when they are ready to take my order. When the order is ready the just leave it on the counter and yell "your order is ready". It is almost insulting as a costumer. I can't believe this is my first time to review Las Delicias. I come for alot off reasons. No frills, just thrills! Almost looks condemned from the outside. Good! All the work goes into a clean, will run restaurant with incredible food and service. NOT fancy! We love everything we get here. Chile rellenos are perfect and hand made tortillas, being made when you walk in, and my absolute favorite creamy jalapeno salsa. It's a salsa bar and you'll celebrate it with anticipation among with other regulars because you all know it's so good. We typically chat with others at the bar, putting the creamy green jalapeno all over everything, and ready for that salsa high. It's fun to ask for the recipe. We all do. They smile and almost wink and say they don't know, even though they make it!!! It's a running joke for those of us, happy peppy people, who love this salsa. Sometimes I stop in for just a pint of that salsa with chips and hot handmade tortillas to go, and when I bring it home, the family goes nuts! They're also so welcoming every time we come in. It had been almost a year, and they greeted us warmly. I love the Carnitas tacos more than anywhere else, packed with authentic fresh Mex seasoning and prepared perfectly on tortillas made the moment I order and can I say it again?... that jalapeno salsa!!! Hubby always gets the Milanesa, his favorite dish, and he loves it here. The coating is light and crispy over a very good cut of tender flank steak, fried to perfection. The people are super friendly here! This is not necessarily fine Mexican cuisine but it's still wonderful for what you get. Fast food Mexican done right! I ordered their famous Cali burrito which has fries, Asada, Guac, pico de gallo, sour cream and some beans and rice as substitute. Amazing!! One of my favorite burritos I have ever had.. The chorizo is excellent as well. It was $8.72 for the burrito which for the size was so worth it. I'm a big believer that burritos should be as big as possible, I love size. So this was so exciting for me. This place is well worth the visit, the other 2 Las Delicias in SCV are not great but this does it right! read more

Oh my gosh! My first time and placed an order for pick by phone. It was 11 am and the salsa bar was dirty. The salsa looked like they were left over from the day before and the lemons and limes were dried up. Worst of all this is when I came to the counter to pick up my phone order, the guy was slicing/cutting up raw chicken with his bare hands. When he was me, he grabbed a napkin to clean his hands. This place is super casual and gets crazy tons of traffic. If there's a line, it moves fast so don't let it deter you. The food is quite delicious and authentic. And they always have specials on the board. So make sure you check them out. They are pretty good at making adjustments to any item you want if they can. For example I found their Kearny Asada fries quite delicious. But my son prefer shrimp. So they make shrimp fries for him. And they don't even flinch when we ask for the swap. There is A small up charge. But I don't mind because seafood is always a little more expensive. Are usually get the steak and shrimp fajitas with cheese sprinkled on top. Always nicely grilled and sizzling when it arrives at the table. They have a special on Tuesdays for taco Tuesdays I think tacos are $1.25. And there's a beer deal too. I am especially obsessed with their jalapeño salsa. It's creamy and a little bit zesty. It's not usually overly spicy. Every once in a while you can tell they had a rather vibrant jalapeño jump into the mix. But it's tolerable and one of my favorite things to come here and enjoy. So, if you see a long haired girl filling her nacho boat with the jalapeño salsa, it's probably me. Don't hate, if you are waiting in line behind me to get some of this salsa, you already know I love it. So be prepared for me to take a pretty heavy dose. Last tip, if you're with two or three people and you are very hungry. Try the Molcajete. Amazing! It's a multitude of proteins served in a sizzling bowl with beans and rice and tortillas. I can't describe it well enough I'm sure. So just go and try it and you'll be surprised at what a lovely treat. Don't forget, I said you need to have at least two or three people!! read more

Stay away from tacos mi casita up the street. I tried them tonight because they were open and I ordered tacos that had nothing in them but a potatoes. Basically a potato spread and tortilla. As far as the food goes it was delicious! I loved the salsa bar. The thing is the place can have great food but if the customer service is not good it makes me not want to come in again. We asked the waitress what the difference was between 2 of the menu items. She was annoyed and asked what exactly it was we wanted. Then she replied that she didn't work there, she had been sent over from one of the other restaurants and the food is different. I can understand if you're not familiar with the menu on your first day but I think she could've answered in a different manner. We stayed and ate, again the food was good and the 2 menu items turned out to be the exact same thing by the way. Alambre and parrillada de carne i believe it was called. Michelle C is absolutely incorrect. I use my credit card there all the time, and you can use your debit card too. Please tell me what taco stand/cart (literally on wheels) has a credit card machine.....Dah!!! The taco cart is outside the restaurant door, so you can have the $1 tacos outside (cash) or go inside for the restaurant effect (Credit/debit). Just like any other Mexican establishment you have to see if they make their food the way you like. Their taco tortillas are made fresh there and there are a lot of items to choose from. I think the Al Pastor is the best out here in SCV. What's also nice is that they will make your plate exactly the way you specify. They also have free pool tables to go along with televised soccer games and Mexican music videos. This place is usually crowded but not by the type of people that would be Yelping.... read more

Coming home from a softball game, i realized i didn't really have anything to eat at home. I got off the freeway and Las Delicias is at the end of the off ramp so i thought i'd give it a try. I ordered 2 tacos al pastor and 2 tacos carnitas to go. They guy said "that'll be $5.71" for 4 tacos?? A bit pricey. I paid and i waited. Perused the salsa bar and got a green sauce i thought was guacamole based, but it was terribly bitter so i tossed it. The red sauce was good and spicy. The also have radishes and jalepenos and the like. After 10 minutes my tacos came out and i ran home to eat them. My 1st impression is "man, that's a small bag". Made even smaller by the fact that there were chips on the bottom. Then i opened up my little foil package and the 4 tacos were inside. There was no sauce on them eventhough i ordered them w/everything, so luckily i had grabbed some from the bar. Maybe it's just 'cuz i'm a gringo, but there was only one tortilla per taco. The tortilla was good, but they rupture easily...that's why you get two. The carnitas tacos were abundantly stuffed and juicy, but the meat was very tasteless. The salsa made it ok. The al pastor tacos weren't as generous and the meat was dry and very little flavor. Even w/salsa, it was difficult to eat them. There are entirely too many Mexican places out here to ever go back. One thing I can't stand is coming home ready to eat and having something missing. You figure they do this all day, everyday and they still can't get it in graved in their heads. I ordered a kids meal and they forgot to give me the juice box for my son. Believe it or not I still pay for the juice box and not receive it with my order really ruins my dinner, then you call them about 3 different times and they do not answer the phone then that gets me more heated up. I've passed by here twice a day for several years, and have never actually eaten here. I decided to change that and went in for dinner. The first thing I noticed was that the place was huge! Based upon the location, I thought it was going to be a tiny little hole in the wall. It was a huge hole in the wall. There were two dining room areas, both very spacious and open. I looked at the menu board and after some debating, settled upon a chicken burrito and a medium beverage. I ordered at the register, got my cup and went to find a place to sit down. En route to a table, I filled my cup with soda, as they didn't have regular brewed iced tea. Just that nestea raspberry sweetened stuff that I don't like. Oh well. I found a table and glanced around the place. The rest of the clientele in the place were all watching the television with great interest. I looked up and saw what appeared to be the Mexican equivalent of American Idol. A girl was riding on a horse, and she was singing a song about Tequila (I think) while a mariachi band played along. Judges were commenting on her performance, although I had no idea what they were saying because it was all in Spanish. A cute waitress came over and put a bowl of what looked like chili and a basket of tortilla chips. A few moments later she brought out my chicken burrito. It looked great, the tortilla looked freshly made, and it was fairly good sized. I picked it up and took a bite. It was indeed great. The rice & beans & chicken & cilantro that filled the burrito were well prepared. After I finished the burrito I tried some of the "chili" with a tortilla chip. It was interesting, but it was not my favorite part of the meal. I'm glad I finally made it here. The food is great, the staff is polite and helpful, and it's not all that pricey.
