VEGAN. 100% I'm Back!!!!! I was feeling a little down today. Why I don't know. Probably just menopause hormones. Nothing like some good meatball soup to balance out your hormones ‍ The young lady who is the waitress here is so sweet. She always recommend something. She remembered me when I came with my sister. I tried something different today. I got the jackfruit tacos and soup. Don't judge soup went home. Very good There is soft music playing. The older gentleman that sits at the first table when you walk in the door. seems to be a little, not too friendly when I come in. He is always watching TV. It is on a Spanish speaking station. He did turn the volume down once I came in which he didn't have to do. I will always say Hello and Goodbye. Until next time La Charritta

Super cute mexican eatery that features a full on vegan page in their menu!! So happy !! I started with an agua fresca made fresh in house. It was fresh and delightful- I saved half for my dessert, very sweet. I ordered the vegan verde with jackfruit. It was really good but way too big! I took almost half home and ate it for lunch the next day (still delicious BTW). It did taste super salty to the point I think maybe there was a mishap especially because my companion's meal was not salty so the contrast was significant. My companion ordered sopes and that plate was good! Service was prompt and courteous. If I lived here I would likely be a regular:) So grateful for proprietors who consider plant based offerings!

You don't find places like this often. It really did feel like authentic Mexican food! Overall, From the vibes (calm, relaxing, the music), how you're greeted and feel welcomed, to the food. The food feels light and fresh! And that guacamole was top notch! Will definitely be returning! We got the sopes and camarones con carne! **Maybe a little more salt and taste to the beans is all!

AMAZING flavors and an EXCELLENT menu with so many options! This food instantly transported me back to abuelita's kitchen--extra special yet beautifully simple, traditional, and genuine. I love the boss woman running the front with perfect service and attention to every detail, and then from the kitchen emerges an angel with the most mouthwatering, authentic food you can imagine at a perfectly hot temperature. The service here is warm, attentive, and flawless. Their super vegan specialty menu blew me away--extensive, creative, and full of choices (which is rare and SO appreciated!). My husband had the loaded breakfast burrito packed with tater tots and bursting with homemade flavor, while I enjoyed the Enchiladas Suizas with the most incredible green enchilada sauce. Both plates were absolutely delicious, hearty, and so satisfying. The portions are generous, and everything tasted fresh and authentic. Bonus points: the bathroom was immaculate. All around, it's a 10/10 experience. We can't wait to come back and try EVERYTHING on the menu! Highly recommend for anyone who loves authentic Mexican food, excellent service, and a welcoming atmosphere!!

This place was a definitely a pleasant surprise! I'm never really fond of going to Mexican Restaurants as most can taste to Americanized. But this place captured the flavors perfectly! The restaurant is not too big. We had a big group and walked in and they were able to seat us right away during lunch time on a Saturday. Firstly, they have a good menu with plenty of choices. They even had a full vegan menu. I ended up choosing the Pollo en Mole Plate. The rice and beans were one of the best beans and rice I've had in a really long time. The mole's flavor had so much personality. The chicken was good, but my personal preference is too have it off the bone so if you are like me that is your heads up. The size of the plate is good for one. My friends did split a burrito so if you are looking to share I'd go for a burrito. Their guava drink was a also pretty good. The salsa was spicy and bomb! The service was good. To get the food it did take a little bit, but it was worth the wait. All my friends loved their plates too, so I don't think you can go wrong with anything here.

Omg the vegan meatball soup was so yummy! Full of fresh veggies and vegan meatball soup. The lemon is the perfect add on to bring all the flavor of the soup together . We been coming here for over two years and I have to say it's the little gem of Valencia! If you haven't been it's a must !

Very cute restaurant. Parking is a little small but you can find parking. The staff is very nice. Food was good. A lot of options. I had chicken sopes. Very tasty. They have a lot of vegan options which was awesome since we went with friends who are vegan.

I'm not vegan but I enjoy eating delicious vegan food with my vegan bestie and this place really hit the spot! The environment is very cozy and traditional, the service was great, and the food was absolutely OUTSTANDING!! Ordered the vegan sopes and the taco plate, both with adobo protein and I kid you not it was probably the best adobo I've tasted. All the flavors come together so well and make you wanting more. I envy Santa Clarita for having this gem in their city. Hoping they can open one in the OC area.

We have eaten take out from La Charrita and eaten inside the restaurant, and our experience was lovely both times. The food is very flavorful and the portions are very big. We've had the burrito, flautas, enchiladas, and pozole. The pozole was my absolute favorite, it was so incredibly delicious and I honestly will be ordering every time we return while it's cooler outside. The staff was helpful and food arrived quick. The restaurant is a standard place with plenty of seating. We will definitely be returning and this is top of our list for Hispanic food in the SCV area!

The quality, the service, the chill vibe of the place, combined with access to dishes that are vegan friendly or gluten-free supportive, means everyone in my family can find something they can enjoy. Because we had a child with us, the manager approached us and gave us a little table game to play while we waited, nice tough. We tried the juice flight. Was worth it because now moving forward each of us know what cold pressed fresh juice we prefer if we want to grab a bottle to go. I thought the coffee was interesting and they have no sugar added milk substitutes too by the way. I'd order it again. I had the savory (ham and cream cheese) crepe, it was the best crepe I've ever had. The texture and flavor, just great. My wife had the breakfast pizza. She asked for it Gluten Free and the server warned her about specific differences and I told her to select another entree' that she was interested in. She stuck with the pizza, then later on admitted she server's advice was good, this was not something that translated as well Gluten Free. She still enjoyed it. We all noticed that their spicy breakfast potatoes were addicting. My grandson had the standard country breakfast, he said it was the best he has had. He is picky. We all shared the gluten free pancakes, churro style. Despite that not being a thing I typically like, I really enjoyed theirs, so getting me to eat something I normally would not = it was extra good. You pay a price for the quality of the food, ingredients and service, but as I started this with, I'd rather skip a typical place 3X and save it up just to go to Daily Harvest once. It's the best breakfast place in Santa Clarita, in my opinion.

You can tell the food here is truly made with love. The women working were so warm and hospitable, especially with our little ones. They had coloring books and drawing supplies, baby forks, and high chairs ready to go. Even the bathroom was thoughtfully set up with a changing station and a toddler potty. It's clear that every detail has been carefully considered to make families feel welcome. The food was equally impressive. The cottage cheese pancakes were a huge hit with the kids, and we loved that they were packed with protein. My wife's steak sandwich was delicious, and the Russian dumplings were devoured by both the kids and the adults. I had the veggie protein bowl, which was absolutely fantastic, and the smoothies were incredibly fresh and light. Overall, this is a wonderful family-friendly spot with excellent, wholesome food and genuinely thoughtful hospitality. We're so glad we found it!

You're drawn in by the familiar, comfortable design featuring mirrored signs with writing in Victorian style fonts that continue onto the menus. They have marble tables and counters, with comfortable chairs, and lots of light coming in through the windows. The staff is all smiles and very welcoming, happy to help you navigate the very interesting bill of fare, and making sure your cocktail is made exactly as you like. I was dining solo, so I sat at the bar, and James took excellent care of me from start to finish. I asked for a Bombay Sapphire Martini with Olives; James immediately offered regular or blue cheese-stuffed olives, and asked if I preferred the martini shaken or stirred. The drink that emerged was well-balanced, cold and very tasty. The menu is filled with all sorts of interesting choices. Some are familiar items like salads and fishes and hamburgers or cheesesteak sandwiches done in their way -- but my eye immediately went to a very unique starter: Duck Fat Potato Confit. Say what? As James explained, it is a whole potato that has been slow cooked in duck fat (confit, as we know) and served as the main attraction in the dish as one might similarly feature a duck leg or short rib. I had to order this, and it turned out to be one of the most rewarding dishes I've eaten in a long time. The aforementioned, slow-cooked potato initially appears a bit like a whole boiled potato, but looks are deceiving. Because of the cooking method, the potato holds it's consistency and shape much more than a boiled or baked potato, cutting almost like a protein. It's solid but tender, and as it has absorbed quite a bit of flavor during the cooking, this potato is far tastier on its own than those other iterations. But you are NOT eating this potato unadorned. Oh no, this potato is dressed with caramelized onions, smoky bacon lardons, wild mushrooms and a rich, very flavorful demi-glace. All together, you've layers upon layers of flavor that make you ignore all distractions and really concentrate on the pleasure you're getting from your food. But that's not all... Perhaps the cleverest element of a dish composed entirely of clever elements is the Mornay Sauce. Snow white, and with enough of just the right cheese to add texture to the Bechemel without becoming too powerful, the sauce is plated on the bottom, with the potato resting atop it. Visually, this looks like mashed potatoes served underneath a protein, and it plays the same role texturally -- but because you wouldn't serve potatoes with a potato, the sauce is a lighter accompaniment, whose flavor marries perfectly with the more complex sauce coming from above, and you cannot help but marvel at this stroke of culinary magic. Just wow. I finished with a dessert of Key Lime Budino, which was rich and creamy with a serious hit of sour from the Key Lime. A nice and refreshing shift after the savory richness of my entree. How lucky are the people of Newhall and Santa Clarita that they have a restaurant making such interesting and excellent food? I come up at least once a month for a music event, and how lucky am I to have discovered this place to eat beforehand? And by the way: if you live in the San Fernando Valley, this place is really less than 30 minutes away (without traffic), so the next time you're thinking of going over the hill to a place in Beverly Hills or Santa Monica, you may want to head North instead. I promise you, The Old Town Junction will become your new favorite.
