We arrived on a Friday night around 7:25 and there was a 20 minute wait to be seated indoors, and no waiting to sit outdoors. I, of course, forgot my jacket so indoors it was. (It did look like they had heaters outside though - not too sure if they were turned on). We were seated around 7:40 and we had two waiters. We asked what the margarita flavors of the day were, and they had hibiscus, jicama cucumber, and a jalapeño pineapple. I opted for the jalapeño pineapple, while my partner got the Sabor. For appetizers we ordered the trio dip and taquitos. For entrees, we ordered the al pastor street tacos, and Enchiladas Sabor. For dessert we ordered the nutella filled churros. I believe our bill was around $135. Pros: everything came out so quickly! Drinks were LARGE. Timing of the food: Drinks were out in five minutes, appetizers in ten mins of ordering, and entrees in fifteen minutes of ordering. The service was also great. Our waiter came in and checked on us, but wasn't overbearing. The quality of the food was also great. I kept saying everything felt very elevated and a great place to go for a nice dinner. I did not do any research before coming here. This was a place that my partner chose, so the two comments that I made (which I later found out was also commonly noted on Yelp) was that the Chips & Salsa were not free, and that my enchiladas did not come with rice and beans. Typically, when I go out for Mexican food, there are certain things I look forward to, so I was a little thrown off that they weren't provided here. The trio dip was a great option because it did have a bean dip as well as salsa, but it was just a bummer that it was an extra charge. After being out in the sun the whole morning, a group of us stopped for lunch in this beautifully designed and well-ventilated restaurant. Upon first impressions, you'll notice brick walls combined with striking decor such as crosses, candles, and black-and-white paintings of women in traditional wear. The sunshine brought in some warmth to the main hall, though we were seated in a sectioned off area on the left which was more dimly lit. All the while, songs from Luis Miguel's catalogue were playing in the background. Everything that was ordered was presented with delicate precision. I was particularly interested in the Crepas Mexicana, and when it was served the folks around me give the dish the proper amount of oohs and ahhs. Layered poblano crepes filled with shredded chicken and avocado on top of a yellow bell pepper sauce base that was both velvety and hearty. We started with our drinks- 1 beer, 1 Pink Seniorita Margarita and 1 Pear Vodka Guava cocktail- all were delightful! The service was friendly and attentive bringing us chips and salsa and more salsa upon request. We ordered the shrimp tacos that were rich, but delicious! My daughter and I split the chicken burrito and the Pastor street tacos. The burrito had very good flavor and the pork tacos did as well. Sabor is one of our favorite Mexican restaurants. We'll drive from Pasadena all the way to Valencia when we're craving their amazing chicken tortilla soup. The broth is unique and unusual -- made with brown corn tortillas -- and they bring the bowl with the chicken and pour the broth tableside, which makes it even better. We also love their taquitos, and we always order the three-dipper with beans, salsa, and guacamole. The margaritas are off-the-charts delicious -- our favorites are the skinny margarita and the classic margarita. And their dessert is to die for -- the chocolate crème brûlée. It has subtle flecks of red pepper that give it the most incredible flavor. I'm absolutely craving it right now just thinking about it. Definitely worth the drive every time. read more

We visited Sabor Cocina Mexicana on Valentine's Day and had a great first experience. I had made a reservation about a month in advance just in case it was busy. A friend who visits often recommended the restaurant to us, so we were excited to try it. Parking was easy to find when we arrived. There's also a nice outdoor seating area in front of the restaurant. When we walked inside, we were greeted right away and promptly seated in a booth. The interior lighting is a bit dim, which gives the place a more upscale, relaxed feel. Everything was clean, and the noise level was comfortable--easy to have a conversation without it feeling loud. I ordered the Organic Cadillac Margarita made with Certified Organic Tequila, Grand Marnier, and fresh juices ($16) . It was perfectly balanced and very well made. We started with the Guacamole, Chips & Salsa ($15). The guacamole was fresh, and the chips were crispy and clearly freshly made. For my meal, I ordered the 3 Beef Tacos de Carne Asada ($25), which included 8 ounces of grilled ribeye steak, charred tomato salsa, caramelized onions, candied bacon, and guacamole. The flavor was incredible--super tasty and packed with flavor. We also ordered the Chile Relleno de Marisco ($30), which had roasted chile pasilla, white fish, wild Pacific shrimp, cheese, onions, and roasted red pepper sauce. It was absolutely delicious and a great seafood option. The staff was friendly, and our food came out in a timely manner. Overall, it was a really enjoyable dining experience. After 16 years of eating here I am so disappointed in the portion sizes and flavors. They for some time have been charging for chips and salsa but now the bowl of salsa is more like a shallow plate. Not enough for 1 person. They use to give 3-4 tortillas, now they give 2. The green salsa tasted like tomatillos and water. The salsa for the chips was not spicy and delicious like it used to be. I ordered chicken tenders for my grandson and there was nothing tender about them. They were so dry I thought they were dehydrated. I did ask for them to take that off the bill and they did. We also asked for a scoop of ice cream for my flan and it was a baby size scoop. Like I said the portions have gotten so much smaller and the price is still the same. Sadly I don't think I will be going back. I hate when restaurants have great food and service and then little by little they start cutting corners, get greedy and loose business. read more

I had lunch here today with my girlfriend and unfortunately left disappointed. We both ordered tacos, she had the carne asada and I had the fish tacos, along with two diet cokes. The carne asada tacos were tasty and well-prepared, but the fish tacos were bland and lacked flavor. What really surprised me was the price, our bill came out to around $70 for just tacos and sodas. For that price, we could have enjoyed AYCE Korean BBQ elsewhere, which feels like a much better value. Overall, while the carne asada was solid, the fish tacos were underwhelming and the cost was simply unreasonable for what we received. I don't see myself coming back given the lack of value compared to other options in the area. read more

The aesthetic of the restaurant is cute but the AC was not working or it wasn't on cold at all, because that place was so hot that it was uncomfortable to sit there. The house margarita was not good at all. It was watered down, tasted like cheap alcohol. The enchiladas were decent. I definitely will not come back here again. The decorations are quite nice but a bit of a darkish interior. pollo en mole - great mole sauce but the chicken is kind of dry Short ribs - delicious and breaks apart easily Ribeye tacos - absolutely amazing with such tender and juicy cubes of ribeye Crepe mexicana - great for chicken option and I love the sauce. Torta de elote - this is a side dish to Polle en mole but I love it so much that I order it separately if I'm getting some other dish. It's a corn soufflé that is slightly sweet but is kind of fluffy. My family loves coming to Sabor, it's our favorite spot for date night and special dinners. The food is absolutely delicious authentic Mexican flavors with an upscale twist. I usually get the filet mignon tacos, cochinita pibil, or carnitas, each dish is packed with flavor and beautifully presented. The panuchos yucatecos are a must-have appetizer! Even the kids' quesadillas are next-level simple but so tasty my son eats every bite. Their cocktails are strong, flavorful, and pair perfectly with the food. I ordered the carne asada tacos but really wanted to try the different kind of meats they had. Sadly, you are unable to mix and match. I decided to try this place because everybody on yelp was saying that they're going to sell the was amazing. Which it was pretty good but I feel like the meat itself could have more flavor. Santa Clarita is in need of more eating establishments like this. They consistently have excellent food, service, and the atmosphere is always great. This summer we spent many evenings on the patio having dinner. We discovered a new desert here recently that I highly recommend; a spicy chocolate crème brûlée. Also, the taquitos are delicious. One of our hidden gems tucked away in the Bridgeport Marketplace on Newhall Ranch Road in Valencia. Yes it's a little jaunt away from the I-5. But well worth the 10 minute drive. We really did love this place but man things have changed. Service is still solid and the employees are all really friendly and attentive. We enjoy the environment and the decor but those things can't be the highlight of a restaurant. First off, how does a Mexican restaurant charge for chips and salsa? That's a staple of the cuisine. What use to be free and then $2.50 has turned in to $4 plus an additional $1.50 per salsa extra. The chips and salsa are good but by the time you finish your $10 in. How about free chips and salsa when you purchase an entree? There has to be a better way. The final straw was when our entree came out and there were no rice or beans. They have good rice but now it's a separate purchase. $24 for three taco, rice and beans was steep but now the plate is just three tacos. Needless to say our last visit was probably our last visit until they make some changes. It's to bad too because we really loved this place. read more

The owner is a complete jerk. He was rude about me having my certified epileptic service dog even outside. I told him I could provide paperwork, and he said he doesn't care. This incident could have caused me to have a seized from stress. This is completely illegal and unacceptable. Although this happened some time ago, I just passed this place again and thought about how he treated me. It's a shame that happened and now I hate this place. I hope people avoid this place because he is an undeserving owner and hope he shuts down. read more
