We went to the restaurant for a pre show dinner. We arrived in what we assumed would be plenty of time. We were told there would be a 30 minute wait for a table which was confusing as when we entered the restaurant we could see an abundance of empty tables. So we got drinks from the bar (the first member of bar staff didn't bother to inform us about happy hour) and waited at one of the tables (there are not enough tables for the amount of people sitting at the bar waiting to eat). We waited... and waited... and waited, meanwhile all the empty tables we had seen on arrival were still empty. When people who had arrived after us started to be taken to tables to eat we finally asked when we would get a table and discovered that our name had been scribbled off the list and our table had been claimed by someone else.
When we did finally get seated, low and behold we were surrounded by no less than 9 empty tables (which remained empty the entire time we were seated) but people were still being told it was a 30 minute wait at the bar. Our food was extremely slow coming out of the kitchen and it took over 15 minutes for our drinks to be brought over, and even then the wrong drinks were given to us. When I finally got the correct drinks we barely had time to drink them as we were in a rush to leave for the show. The food seemed quite nice, but sadly we had no time to enjoy it as we literally had to shovel it in our mouths.
We were baffled as to why we had to wait so long for a table when there were so many empty ones. At first we thought there was a staff shortage but as we were waiting for our food there were constantly 2 or 3 staff members hanging about chatting to each other with seemingly not much to do.
So I can only assume its a ploy to get people to spend money at the bar?
In short the service was disgraceful and I was very disappointed that I was not left with enough time to enjoy my food despite being on the premises for over 90 minutes. read more
