    Aguachiles rojos
    Jose C.

It looked packed from outside when we arrived, but there was still plenty of tables available. Service was great. Quick and efficient. I started out with a michelada w/ Pacifico beer. These are the best Micheladas for the price I've ever had. They are huge and and very tasty. I've had better ones, but they were more expensive and came with shrimp. This is truly the best way to get the night going when eating mariscos. We also ordered 1/2 oysters to enjoy before our food came out. These tasted fresh and taste amazing with salt, lime and tapatio sauce. My wife ordered their Arroz con Mariscos. Pretty much similar to seafood Paella, except a little spicier. The rice was cooked to perfection and it came with a lot of mixed seafood. I ordered their Aguachiles rojos. I have yet to try aguachiles in Chicago that taste amazing, but these weren't bad. Definitely spicy, busy still very edible. The portioning seemed small at first but you will definitely feel full after finishing the plate. Not the best mariscos in town, but not a bad place to check out.

I ordered by phone for pickup and ordered octopus, one Ranchero and the other al mojo de ajo, and they told me it would be about twenty minutes. I go there and it easy to find and they have plenty of parking. There is a sign that says one person when picking up, that makes sense. there were a few people eating inside and walked up to the cashier and got my food, paid with credit card and left a tip in cash, it was fast. As for the food, the Ranchero Style octopus was great, the garlic one was a bit salty but good. I only got two and a half tostadas, I hoped it was at least two for each plate so next time I'll make sure it is more. Overall it was a good experience and tasty food. will come back. I hope they clean their parking lot and around the building.

I am shocked to see this place with such a low rating, I had the absolute BEST experience! The portion sizes are unreal, everything is bursting with flavor. I will be returning with friends and family!

Been going to this place for years, and to the lateral of some past reviews, the service is amazing. I've tried so many different mariscos places over the years but this one has the best prices and most flavor. There's private parking, the ambiance is relaxed, and there are two different sections to sit. Lots of sitting area. Typically busy on Saturdays dinner time, and sundays all day. Will probably be coming back here until the day I die lol

My friend has been talking about this place forever so my expectations were already pretty high. They didn't disappoint! We came in on a Sunday afternoon and the place was packed. We didn't bother waiting for a table and grabbed a seat at the bar. The pretty blonde waitress with glasses took care of us and she was fast and friendly. Sunday is the only day they have their Mariachi band playing. There's 7 guys playing and it's super loud, but I didn't mind. We ordered Ceviche (one of the best I had). Friend had a Michelada Con Comarones (spicy beer cocktail with shrimp) and loved it .We got some fresh water prawn cooked in their spicy house sauce and fish tacos to go, we split it later and I loved the prawns, but the fish was so salty in the tacos that we couldn't eat it. Great atmosphere, authentic Mexican food and fair prices considering how big the portions are.

Wellllll... it's a good place for some seafood grub. A little on the loud side if you go during the weekend but if your into that sorta thing then this maybe the place for you. We ordered the Rockafeller oysters and Langostinos... the oysters were a little bland, reasonably priced and presentations was nice. The Langostinos were also warm and lacked that special spice that makes them a great dish. Compared to other seafood places this is a good place for decent food but no WOW factor. For that see my review of Bob Chin. Staff was friendly and attentative but that's as far as it goes. The drinks were pre made, nothing fancy, however I felt that they were just poured out of a bottle of Margarita mix that you can get at a local store, just add ice. I will give it another go soon with another dish and will give you guys the scoop! Until then... Cheers!

It was more like soup cocktail will not go back I will rather go to 3119 n central you won't regret la costa..

I was lucky to find a park right in front of the place. I walked inside and was amaze by the decor and ambience. Nice music, seating area and bar to order your drinks. The service was good. Now here is where this review lost stars. The Food. Very pricey and mediocre. I ordered the supposedly Super Nacho Platter for $18.00 which I paid more with the tax. My food arrived in a black syform container with lack of meat, cold and tasteless. A lady sitting across from me order the chicken wing platter for $32.00 which she ended up paying around $40.00. Very disappointing to pay this much for a few wings and fries. I don't mind supporting neighborhood businesses. Now we are paying more for the ambience than the food and drinks.

She never once checked in to see if I needed anything or if everything was okay, and every interaction felt snappy and unwelcoming. I ordered from the happy hour menu and paid $10 for two tiny sliders, which felt very overpriced for the portion size. On top of that, gratuity was automatically included, which may explain why there seemed to be little concern about providing decent customer service.

I had no idea that DJ Khalid had opened a spot on the Chicago landscape, as The Licking is one of his restaurants. Not bad and a nice addition to Austin since it's not the usual fish hut, rib joint, or chicken shack. I arrived early enough to have the restaurant to myself. For an appetizer, I ordered the chicken roll that came with a sweet chili sauce. High marks. They didn't try to go gourmet or spectacular, just sent rolls to the table that tasted delicious. For my main meal, I ordered fried red snapper with collards and sweet potatoes. I appreciate the red snapper being meaty and having only a light crust. I used some more of the sweet chili sauce or dipping, which was a good option. The greens were flavorful and without any salt meat, ham hock, or smoked turkey. Often restaurants serve bland greens if they don't use hock or turkey. That was not the case here. The sweet potatoes were a nice add-on that they didn't mess up. Having eaten too much, I had a slice of caramel cake for takeaway. It was from someone who baked the desserts of premises. I can't ding the restaurant for the cake needing to be warmed up to moisten it, but I will pass on it next time around. The woman working the front of the house was cool. Made good recommendations and also spoke at length about some other good restaurants in the Austin area. Like many restaurants I've gone to lately, I will have to go back later to try a few other items on the menu.

The bread service was fantastic. The tomato focaccia and the baguette were both excellent and I had to remind myself not to fill up on it before the main meal! LOL! We started with the calamari which was very well seasoned and clearly not the typical frozen version you often see from foodservice distributors. It tasted fresh, was crispy, and well prepared. For dinner I ordered the margherita pizza which was simple and delicious. I ended up ordering a second one to-go for my partner who couldn't make it to dinner. He also loved it - even after it sat for ~30 min or so while we chatted more, then drove home to the Maywood area. I would imagine their delivery is pretty good based on that! My mom had the rigatoni vodka with added crumbled Italian sausage which she loved, and my dad ordered the Marcelino. He loved the generous amount of seafood and how well seasoned it was. My parents are big wine drinkers and my dad was especially impressed with the wine list and the selection available. Oscar was an incredible server!! He struck the perfect balance of being attentive while still letting us enjoy a relaxed, unhurried evening. The support staff and food runners were also fantastic and very friendly, making the entire service experience feel polished!
