Went in on a Friday around 2pm. Nobody else in the restaurant. Seated promptly, chips and salsa just about as fast and ordered steak fajitas off the dinner menu. The food was served up promptly and hot. This was my first experience with the vegetarian fajitas but steak prices. To be fair, there was some beef in there. But it was mostly bellpepper, onions with a hint of tomato. And I guess some sirloin or something. With a tip, the dinner fajitas which looked like lunch fajitas without the beef came to about 25 bucks including the ice tea. Then, came the surcharge for using a credit card. Had I known that on the front end, I would have walked back out. Used to be a great restaurant. But there's competition. And I won't be back. Sad to see how things went and I do miss the old owner. read more

What a gem of a restaurant! We love to find little Mexican restaurants when we travel and this was definitely a find. The food was delicious, the beer was cold, and the service was great! The owner, Cesar, to our table to talk to us. He asked if we liked shrimp and then said he had something for us. It was delicious perfectly fried shrimp with a sauce that is made in house. My husband had ground beef enchiladas with mole sauce, which he said were wonderful. I had soft chicken tacos and they were equally delicious. It made us wish we were more hungry so we could eat more. If you are anywhere near Brownsville, Tennessee on I-40, take the time to drive a few miles off the interstate and enjoy a wonderful meal in a uniquely decorated restaurant. Love the shrimp tacos and the fish tacos. Fajitas are great too. I recently tried the el Diablo shrimp plate and it's a great flavor and interesting heat to the spice. Doesn't really burn your mouth or throat but had me sweating but I eat ghost pepper salsa and Carolina reaper salsa fairly often so it isn't too hot but had a great flavor read more

My boyfriend and I ordered here one Sunday afternoon. There wasn't many people in the restaurant but somehow we still managed to sit at a dirty table that was appointed to us. Passing through this area and stopped here for dinner. EXCELLENT experience. Wife had steak & chicken Nacho Fajitas, which were very good and, unlike most Mexican restaurants, they did NOT skimp on the cheese sauce. Many of my friends enjoy this place, but they all have separate dishes they enjoy. The one plate I enjoy the most, and order 95% of the time I go for lunch or to socialize, are the Fajita Nachos with guacamole. I can never choose between chicken or steak, so of course I order it mixed with both. The cheese they use for the nachos is very delicious and the quantity they serve is massive for the price of a large order. I can eat some for lunch and take the rest home for dinner whilst being able to share with my household. Of course, I've had Mexican food my whole life growing up in my household, so I can differentiate it's commercialized dishes for the general public, who are not used to the full blast of Hispanic seasonings and ingredients, with the ones that stay true to what they advertise with the "Mexican" part of the restaurant. As with all food, though, not every dish is for everyone since the variety is somewhat overwhelming to those who are not accustomed to this kind of food. All in all, it's a nice place to eat at times since it is in a nice locale and it has a dish for everyone's preference. You can also order custom plates with any assortment of anything found on the menu. The prices vary depending on what you order, but if you're searching for a very specific dish... well, here's your chance to make it so! If you like Gringo Mexican food, then this is the place for you. I say Gringo, because it is not typical true Mexican food. They do not offer tamales cooked in corn husks, and their corn tortillas are just a cut above the store bought kind. Now, that being said, it is still the best Mexican restaurant in Brownsville. The service is really good, and the food on average is excellent. If you go, make sure you try the Fajitas Nachos. They are excellent. read more

I felt the food was average and the prices were average to below except for the large melted cheese was pricey at 6.99. They were late taking our order, but once taken the service was fine throughout the experience.
