The food was very good and you're full as a tick when you leave. The service was good. There were seven of us in the group and the waitress kelp the glasses full and the chips coming. The restroom was small but everything seemed to be clean. The tip is figured in the check when there are more than four in the party and I'm not sure if I like that. read more

This place used to be great. Now, not so much. Ordered the cheese dip with taco meat appetizer. One would think you would drain the grease off of the taco meat before pouring it into the cheese. But, nope. So, if you like lots of ground beef grease in your cheese dip you will LOVE it. My wife ordered the chicken quesadilla and I ordered the steak burrito. The steak in the burrito was I'd say 70% gristle. Rice and beans were fine. The chicken quesadilla looked as if ingredients were being rationed for an upcoming zombie apocalypse. My wife got through half before she too had a big old bite of fatty gristle. We asked for the check. No discounts were offered. We'll stick to Los Portales from no own. read more

Ad online says they are open until 9:30, on here it says 10:00. Neither are correct! We walked in at 8:40 and they would not seat us. He gave us some lame excuse about it's every place in town. I wasn't at any other place in town. I was at this Mexican restaurant at 8:40 when the earliest every ad says you close is 50 mins away! Not the first time I've had issues with this restaurant. They also charge you different prices every time you order the same thing. It's different every time. I don't recommend them. There is another el gallero at the Walmart shopping center that is much better. Only reason we stopped because it was in the way thru town after a HS soccer game. read more

It was the exact same ground meat wrapped in a different shell The taco was in a taco shell, the burrito was in a flour shell and the enchilada was wrapped in a corn tortilla shell. I'll preface by saying I've served in restaurants for years and have a great deal of patience and understanding with restaurants, so I rarely complain about restaurants. This one is different. We have lived in the area for a year now. Due to our love of Mexican food and the lack of variety here, we have ate here about 10 times. I wish I was exaggerating, but I have never once had a good or smooth experience. If they don't mess up the order or overcharge you, you will absolutely have to wait a while for your food. For instance, they will tell you about 15 minutes for a to-go order, which is fine. I usually give them anywhere from 20-30 minutes before I arrive, because restaurants can get busy and behind a bit. Never once has it been ready or close to being ready when I arrived. Every single time, it seems they don't even start making it until I arrive. So I am standing there for an additional 10-20 minutes waiting for them to make our order. It's ridiculous to happen every, single time. Then there's a solid chance they will overcharge you or mess the order up after you've waited that whole time. I've never been to a restaurant that is all around bad. We're not going back and we strongly advise nobody to visit here either. read more
