Before we even arrived, I reached out because I had some questions about food allergies and concerns prior to making reservations, and the customer service and immediate detailed response from Mrs Anabel Távara were so helpful and reassuring. After her responsiveness, I was excited to set up our reservations, which she was also able to assist with. We were staying about 45 mins away, and I was hoping the ride was worth it, and it definitely was. Each item had something special about it and it was like just when you thought you've tasted something that couldn't be beat, you would receive your next serving which fired up your taste buds all over again. IF we had any complaints, it was the fact that the menu is a tasting menu, and we wanted MORE!! Lol The family were all involved and welcoming, and it was so nice to meet them all. Each dish was made with warmth and heart. The food was fresh, and several of the ingredients were from their family garden. The presentation of each dish was beautiful. Everything is local, prepared to order and de-licious!! I ate the Iberian roasted pork for dinner while my husband ate the suckling pig. I have to say that while my food was fantastic, his was better. We also had appetizers, desserts, and drank local wine. I'm also pretty sure that we were he only newbies to the restaurant. It seemed like everyone else who was seated had been there plenty of times before. For the two of us to have all courses and a bottle of wine and bottle of water it only ran us about €120-ish. Duck appetizer from the Chinese menu was pretty good too. As a Chinese person, I'm usually pretty critical about Chinese food. The pancake they used to wrap the duck is pretty authentic and vegetables are quite fresh.

We think it is a hidden gem…read more It is often full and it is advisable to book in advance otherwise you might be disappointed, It is a very authentic Spanish restaurant and not at all touristy.The decor is basic but definitely has a local feel about it It does attract a lot of British who are resident in this resort and customers on holiday who return every year which speaks volumes for the food. Repeat customers is always a good sign. It is hidden and not easy to find but the easiest way to describe getting there is from the roundabout in the town centre turn left away from the pedestrianised precinct and by the Pharmacy take the first turning on the left. The food is top notch and the service is friendly. The only criticism is the food delivery is a little slow so do not eat here if you are in a rush but you are on holiday so what is the hurry just relax. The atmosphere is very nice and fairly sedate. In the main it attracts couples or groups of 4 but if required and booked in advanced they can accommodate larger parties by joining tables together. In our experience it is not really a place for families and we haver not seen any children eating here. We can recommend the Lamb Cutlets which we believe is their best seller and their home made beef stew a house speciality. There are other house specialities on the menu including some fish dishes. The meat/fish portions are generous but the vegetable portions are poor.You get the choice of Canary Potatoes or Chips with each meal. Try the Flambee Bananas for dessert they are delicious. Depending on where you are sitting the tables can be close together. It is not a large restaurant and probably been in existence in the resort since the 1980's. If visiting Playa Blanca in our option a meal at this restaurant is a must. You will enjoy the experience and food. The cost is about average for the resort. We would suggest if ordering wine you avoid the house wine which is a bit rough and served in a jug and pay a shade more for a bottle of wine. I skipped having a starter and went for a chicken dish. The flavour of the chicken was pretty awful and I could only manage half of it. The chips that came with were excellent though. So all was not lost. My husband didn't fair as well as me. His cod dish was awful by the sounds of it. It read quite good on the menu and the waiter / manager said it was a very popular dish and a speciality of theirs. I know cod as a flaky fishy, but my husband said it was very chewy. Chewy cod is a new one on me. It was not a good dining experience.

Served with local potatoes and some simple but fresh non-seasoned shredded salad with tomatoe and onion.
