Having been to one other location for laser hair removal I had a certain idea of what to expect when I came to Sunny. I was prepared for a quick pass with the technician and the treatment to be uncomfortable and sit around for an hour while my skin returned to a normal shade (my skin is hypersenstive and would be horrifically red for about an hour after treatment). What I found when I arrived was a very knowledeable technician who sat down and talked with me about the procedure, the type of laser she was doing, how permanent hair removal works and why you need more than a couple of sessions (even if after the first one it seems like it had already done the job). Yes, she was very clear on her cancellation policy and what the fee would be and how it affects her job when people cancel late or just don't show up. And I totally understood and agreed and appreciated her honesty and forthrightness on her feelings about this. Then she got down to work. I was braced for the bit of pain...and was flat out shocked at how painless the procedure was. It was a breeze (literally and figuratively) and although my skin was red after treatment, it was evened out after about 30 min. Huge improvement. The second time I came back, took only 10 min. I highly recommend Laserworks and Sunni personally. Who cares about getting a "spa" experience, spend the $ on the best laser you can buy and zap those suckers to oblivion :D Her prices are more reasonable than what I have seen elsewhere, her laser machine is top of the line and she is a gem of a gal. Laserworks is THE place to go if you are serious about getting rid of your hair. The technician, Sunny, is amazing and put me immediately at ease. I originally came because I purchased a coupon on Bloomspot, but after seeing the amazing results, I bought additional packages. Sunny uses a top of the line laser that is safe for darker skin, like mine. In the past, I'd been conned by spas offering "laser hair removal," who really used an IPL which is not an actual laser. I have brown skin and the IPL left what looked like cigarette burns on my skin. Laser hair removal requires repeat visits and you want to go to someone you feel comfortable with. Sunny makes me actually look forward to hair removal sessions, because she is so warm and friendly. Obviously, laser hair removal is an investment, so do your research in advance to make sure you are getting what you want. If a pretentious spa environment is really important to you, then Laserworks is not going to be the place to go, since it is solely a laser hair removal center. However, if you really want to get rid of your hair, look no further. Sunny knows her service is effective and doesn't need to attract clients with fluffy robes and free coffee. I wish I had known that IPLs were not real lasers before I bought a package at a spa and endured several painful, ineffective sessions. Sunny's treatments are safer, less painful, and MUCH more effective. At the end of the day, I'm a lot happier knowing that I'm actually getting rid of my hair. Laserworks is an efficiently operated one-woman shop (hence the cancellation policy which every place has so I don't understand the gripe and btw, the penalty is not an exorbitant amount and certainly not more than the treatment itself - let's keep our reviews honest). If you want a faux fancy salon and faux pleasant people to make you feel special and try to sell you bling for your VJJ while they charge you significantly more, it's not the place for you. If you want excellent results at an affordable price from an honest and pleasant aesthetician (and still walk out feeling special!) then go to Sunny. I could not be happier with the service and the results. Yes, it's true, this is maybe only the third review I've posted and no, I have not been "planted" Some people do not feel compelled to post a review on every experience they've had (who has the time?). I will post a review when I feel strongly about an experience either good or bad. I originally bought a package through Groupon which introduced me to Sunny's services. I have been so happy with the results, that I am now going on for treatment in another area. Sunny is very pleasant to deal with and her personality shines on through. Yes, there is a cancellation policy and she reminds you of it, BUT it seems fair to me (48 hour notice) and it has yet to come up as an issue as I have kept ALL of my appointments so far. The treatments themselves are pain free, quick and pretty easy on the patent end of things. There is not much we need to do other than be clean, stay out of the sun and no plucking! Now when I visit, I'm in and out of the office so quick, it takes me longer to get there and back than actually to get stuff taken care of. I have never had to wait to be seen for my appointments, my initial appointment was made for the day after I called to inquire about her services (so no long waiting periods to get things started!) and she is able to schedule follow ups with GREAT flexibility. Sunni is wonderful. I am very pleased with the progress I have made to date and highly recommend Laserworks to anyone. I received a few treatments from different places in the past and was never satisfied with the services or end results. After discovering Laserworks and meeting Sunni, I learned why I never reached my desired results prior. I can't stress enough how important it is to educate yourself about this procedure and find a licensed technician who really wants to help you get the results you want - Sunni provides both. I finally found a place with a laser that works! Sunny, the owner, is great and makes the experience very pleasant. I have tried other laser places through groupon and they were extremely painful and made you put on a sloppy gel. Laserworks uses an extremely high tech laser with cold air coming out which makes it so painless. Other places used a laser that was extremely uncomfortable and I would have to take painkillers before but with Laserworks this is not necessary. I bought a package with Sunny for laser hair removal on full legs. After the first session I saw amazing results - permanent hair removal. I have been recommending this place to all my friends and coworkers. Sunny is always ready at the time of the appointment and never cancels which I experienced at other salons. A friend recommended me to go to Laserworks and I am extremely satisfied and happy to have listened to my friend's advise! I bought two packages, one for underarms and one for bikini. I was a bit scared & nervous the first time i went there but Sunny is very friendly and professional on the same time. She explained in detail about the laser treatments and was available to respond to all my questions. She put me at ease, I felt very comfortable with her since the first beginning. The laser machine is a great one, it's a cold air laser so it's less painful than others. I always go after work, but my friend who works close to her, goes even at lunch break cause there is no wait. She is quick and punctual with the appointments time. I bought a Groupon and am so glad Laserworks was my first experience. I've never done laser before and I was not sure what to expect but I went to get my chin done with my wedding coming up. Sunny is quick and professional; and like everyone says on the reviews, the machine is relatively painless (it stings just a little but Sunny is patient and careful). This is the last of my 6 sessions and I see results. Yes, it does take a few more sessions for it completely go away (as far as I can tell) but I am happy with the results I've been getting. I wish I had done this sooner. The best thing about Laserworks is that it's meant to be a quick in and out visit, not an over the top, pretentious spa. One last thing-Sunny works super hard so you can pretty much get an appointment morning, lunch, evening, and weekends. I first went to Laserworks when I purchased a special offer from Groupon. I was so impressed with my first 3 mini treatments that I purchases several packages and have never been more happy. The results begin to show immediately after your first few successive visits. Sunni, the technician, is amazing, warm and friendly. She wants to make sure you are comfortable, well informed about each package and appropriately prepped before your treatments. This is a very reputable and effective service which I highly recommend to anyone with unwanted hair growth. Its not a spa but hey - we have the rest of our lives to be pampered WITHOUT EVER stepping into another waxing room! I am ecstatic .. no more shaving and 5 minute showers! This has to be the best laser hair removal place in Manhattan! I feel so lucky Sunny and Laserworks came into my life through Bloomspot. I can't imagine spending another dollar on crazy spas and other places that I've tried in the past and just don't work. After starting a few sessions I see major improvement and it's truly amazing how confident I feel. I can't wait to have no hair on my face and I know I can trust this place for results. Quick painless treatments with cold laser, I purchased initially through groupon and then bought package to continue treatment and also for another area since I was happy with results. Never tried laser treatment before but was glad I chose this place since Sonny, who performs the procedure is very down to earth and helpful, prompt, and gets you in and out in no time to get back to work etc. I also appreiciate that the office is not a fancy spa atmosphere but that is fine with me because I come for the treatment I don't need to pay for setting and mood, I just want results! I am almost done with my treatments and it is such a relief to not have to worry about shaving all the time and razor burn! I've bought some Groupons laser hair removal at different locations over the last year, and Laserworks is the best that I've experienced. Sunni is great- she's straight forward and professional. And she's very sweet too. I saw immediate results from her laser. I've been to other places and it's taken a few procedures in order to see any improvement. But at Laserworks, my hair stopped growing after the first treatment. I had bought a Groupon for 3 treatments of a small area, and I plan on continuing my treatments for the total of 6 needed for the area to be free of hair permanently. Today I completed my 3rd session. I bought a package through Relish to try out the laser just for my chin. For the past 8+ years, on and off, I have been getting my lip and chin "lasered", but I did not know the difference between an actual laser and an IPL. I always ended up getting enough regrowth that I would need to eventually spend money on waxing also. I'm extremely happy with the results of a real laser. Sunni is patient and takes the time to explain what will happen. The procedure is painless, it feels like a cold compress. Sunny is amazing and her laser is an actual cold air MEDICAL GRADE laser not IPL (Intense Pulse Light) machine. I have been to some of the fancier spas and have to say that this place is so much better - the quality of the laser is the best in town, and Sunni makes the experience as enjoyable as possible. She is honest and clearly cares about her clients and the services she is providing. The office was a little off-putting at first, but it's spotless and clearly keeps the costs of the services down - I would rather pay $50 less for a superior service and quality and forgo the candles! The laser has cold air flow which helps numb the treatment spot and it works just fine on sensitive skin. Sunni is so friendly and outgoing.
