I've been coming to this place for many years and cannot recommended them enough. The staff here is extremely courteous and helpful. I've had many different technicians over the years, some better than others but all of them are professional when doing the treatments. The front desk staff in particular provides great customer service and are very easy to contact when I need to schedule or reschedule an appointment. I've had laser on most of my body and now I only need to go every couple of months for maintenance since some areas do grow back due to hormones. They use Cynosure laser and this has been very effictive for my skin. Getting laser was the best investment since I really don't ever have to worry about shaving anymore. They always have different promotions available so the prices are reasonable. I highly recommend this place if you're interested in laser hair removal. read more

Waited weeks for a consult that could've been a phone call. I listed the medications I take at the time I booked my consult, however they waited until I came in to check if any were photosensitive. One is, so I can't even book until I provide a doctor's note. I could've done that weeks ago, and I would've just bought a 50% off package with the holiday deals and booked my first session if I didn't need to first come in for a 3 minute consult. The front desk staff was nice (though I have no clue what their names were because no one introduced themselves) and I was seen on time, so two stars for that, but three stars off for wasting my time. I've been preparing for weeks to begin laser treatments - no waxing, no sun, only shaving, etc., and now I'm unsure whether I should bother going back or find a different provider. UPDATE: Following my consultation, I received an email soliciting my feedback. I provided it and expressed that I had a poor experience during my consultation but remained interested in purchasing a package and working with a different specialist. No one acknowledged or responded. It now seems I'll be purchasing services elsewhere since Laser Spa doesn't care enough to earn my business with a simple response to an email. I had a full body laser hair removal appointment today at 3:45 PM. When I arrived, the technician told me she couldn't do the full body. I asked her why, but she didn't answer. I told her that I have always done full body sessions, and she said she would try and that she had done the whole body. However, she worked very quickly and didn't seem focused. Like I said before, I've been coming to this laser hair removal salon for 3 years. Today I unfortunately had a rude technician who completed a full body session in 23 minutes. She definitely just did the motion, didn't apply gel, and was quite rude. Didn't change the settings of the laser nor looked at my chart and was trying to finish as fast as possible. Didn't care for my pain (would get annoyed if I asked for a break) nor actually evaluate my results. She also just handed me some oil to clean myself and ran out. Kevin at the front desk and Rachel the manager were incredible and sweet. They responded immediately to my concerns and addressed them. The service at this salon is phenomenal and Kevin is truly the best person they could hire to manage the front desk. Let me preface this with: I waited til I didn't work there anymore to write this review so that I could be entirely honest. Laser hair removal was not a thing I was ever interested in as an au natural kind of lady but I was curious to see what as a receptionist I was scheduling people for and selling to them, and quickly became hooked. The results are unbeatable. If you want to know why, here's the secret- the techs are trained to know exactly how to maximize the settings for each individual person instead of applying a one size fits all to the clients. The owners? Sofia and Garrett are a NY local wife and husband team w 3 kids that care more about their employees than anyone I've ever worked for. They got us heating pads for our period cramps, get us coffee on tough days and are amazingly flexible when you need to take time off. The technicians? They hire girls that have a passion in them for what they do and learning new techniques. These girls work insanely hard and care a lot, please tip them well. 20% is a normal tip. Not on the groupon price- on the regular price. Check the chart on check out if you want to take care of them properly. They notice and greatly appreciate it when you do. If you have less than desirable results, honestly, ask yourself if you were in the sun and tried to lie about it. If you tried to down play the medicinal creams or different prescriptions you are on. If your tech dropped your settings down she did it to protect you so you didn't have burns for several years. I saw this play out a handful of times and it was always in the clients best interest. It's always best to reschedule if you are unsure! The one problem here is that it can be hard to get on the schedule but everybody at the front desk is amazing and working their butts off to accommodate the clients as much as possible. The prices are insanely low the service is amazing and you're not the only person that knows about this place so cut them a break if you can't get in on the exact day you want next week for a full body. Everyone else in NYC wants the same time. There are literally people coming in from California and Maine and Pennsylvania and Florida etc etc so if you are 30m late to your 15m appointment, you missed your appointment. Be kind to the front desk they will do everything they can to accommodate rescheduling you but expecting them to bump someone else is entitled and insane. Be reasonable. My appointment started on time but I noticed another woman was complaining that she's been waiting too long. It felt pretty chaotic at 5pm. My lower leg hair removal was 20 minutes long. My girl explained things pretty fast. Told me the dos and donts. And boy was it painful. She assured me that it's normal because its my first time. She was pretty patient. She let me stop when I asked but also hurried it along. I don't know if she was rushing but I rather she did it fast. It's been a week since I shaved and I barely have any hair coming out. When I shave, the hair is back by day 2. It's been 7 days and it's pretty smooth. So I say it's working. I can feel some hair getting ready to push out but I assume that's why a couple sessions are needed. Excited to finish the whole thing. I also have light skin and dark hair for reference. I truly believe everyone should get laser hair removal. Over time, I've been to 4 different laser spas in NYC. While I like Laser Bar & Spa and think they do a good job, it's not my favorite. The customer service is great. The scheduling is easy, there's automated texts to remind you about your appointment, pricing is fair, there's very minimal wait time every time, and all the estheticians are really nice. I don't think the quality of the lasers here is the best, and while most of the estheticians are thorough, sometimes they miss a spot or two. read more

Bought Groupon deal in late 2018 for package of multiple sessions based on the strength of prior reviews. Arrived for consult - office a bit hard to find, building felt a bit rundown, furniture seemed a bit tired. Consult went well, decided to proceed. Arrived for first session, was told it would not go as planned (claimed issue with preexisting medical issue that was declared in initial consult and was told no issue plus doctors confirmed no issue). I was sincerely dumbfounded and shocked. Given I was already there, proceeded to complete the first session. Front desk said don't worry. Made booking for second session. Was then called and asked why I made a second session booking given they would not be offering what I thought we had agreed to. After a few phone calls, it was agreed that they would not budge on coverage but would agree to compensate with free sessions to make up for it. I then went to another place for the ineligible area. Dayna was my provider and she has been exceptional. Having now gone to multiple places (or needing to go to the other place), I came to appreciate her and her ability. I got my bikini area lasered here back in 2016 and it was a pleasant experience. I purchased a 6-session deal on Groupon so I thought it was good for the value. The reason why I waited so long to write a review is because I wanted to wait and see what the long-term results are. Here's my thought: 1. This was my first laser hair removal experience ever 2 The customer service was excellent and everyone was super sweet and friendly 3. Laser is more painful than a Brazilian wax in my opinion 4. After completing the full 6 sessions, I was virtually hairless for months. But about a year later, my bikini area started growing back again. The technician did advised me to still get "touch-ups" every couple months after I completed all my 6 sessions but I disregarded that because in my mind, that defeats the whole purpose of laser hair removal. Isn't the whole point of laser is to permanently remove your hair after XYZ sessions so that after, you don't ever have to deal with it again? I guess my 3-star rating isn't really towards this establishment but more towards the process of Brazilian laser hair removal in general. Ladies- even after you get 6 sessions, your pubic hair is still going to grow back eventually if you don't get "touch-ups". I wish someone would've told me that prior to purchasing the Groupon because I was under the assumption that laser hair removal is a permanent solution that ensures no hair will ever grow back ever again. Unfortunately, that's not true.
