I've tried a few random girls and didn't love the outcome.. they've done some remodeling since the last time I was there.. a hair salon in a lash studio? Perm fumes and color fumes in my eyeballs messing up my eye glue. I've had horrible experiences with retention only at lash my world.. my lashes fall out day 3. I've realized it's only when I get my lashes done here. The lash ladies all have cubicles.. you can hear everyone and everything on top of smelling a salon. I love Lash My World.. Zandria has been my master esthetician for the past 3 years. Her lashes stay on my lashes and there is not gobs of glue on my lashes or skin. Zandria is careful with my eyes, no toxic fumes, nor lower lashes sticking to my top lashes. And there are not any funky, twisted lashes that go rogue. My lashes are full volume lashes that people can't tell if they are extensions or not. Recently, she had surgeon and I couldn't wait for her to return. I was looking for a new place for lashes and tried this place. When I got there nobody acknowledged me for about 5 minutes. The girl that was scheduled to do my lashes kept going on and on about how she didn't have enough time to do what I wanted which was a simple classic fill because I didn't remove my eye makeup. I don't wear eye makeup except a little eyeliner under my eyes. The whole time she kept sniffing and sniffing like she had a bad cold. Then she preceded to tell me that she would have to finish me in a week and she could make it look fuller if I wanted to schedule an appointment. She then charged me full price which included a tip for herself where there was no option to decline and told me she would see me in 5 days. My lashes looked uneven and unprofessional. Went in not knowing what to expect for a first timer; Was introduced to Jessica who took time to talk with me and figure out exactly what look I was going for and discuss how functional I needed my lashes to be. I chose the "Diva" plan and I am now a believer. I will never go back to mascara again. My lashes are beautiful, full, long, natural looking. I moved out of state over a year and a half ago now and when I was in town I needed a fill and wanted to look my best before a family vacation! I use to go here before they switched owners and LOVED the atmosphere all the girls on the staff were working there and the owner even was in consistently but not renting booths out like they do now. I must say this place has gone down hill. Where there use to be 5 chairs there is now 3 and when I went in (although it was an early sunday) my lash artist and I were the only ones there. When I use to go in the place always had a receptionist, a couple extra girls for unexpected walkins and at least 1-3 girls getting lashes done or they were full! It was odd, there wasn't any music (which I was told wasn't provided to them by there new owner). I liked my lash artist, I can't remember her name but she was very sweet, took off my lashes that weren't the same as hers for free! Then took extra time to make sure I had a full set! She was amazing, they felt and looked great but within less then a week a lash fell off ( not the extension and my natural lash just the extension) which meant she was using some older glue. My lashes normally stay on for a good 3-4 weeks but I had to get a fill when I was back in CA about 2 1/2 weeks later because they were falling out so quickly and looked sparse! When I did go back to my lash artist in CA she noticed some of the lashes had been glued to my eyelid.. and not the actual lash. She was suprised I didn't notice it poking me. ALSO since they rent booths nowwwww they have to (obviously) get all their own supplies, wouldn't it be smarter for the owner to buy all the supplies for the girls at wholesale price (saving money for the girls and the owner could also profit) and sell them to them at a better price because of the bulk ordering? Plus you then would know the product like the glue or lashes is good and hasn't been sitting around for awhile, you would also know if you had to schedule an appointment with another girl they would be using the SAME lashes. I gave them 3 stars because the service was still great (easy online appointment and lovely artist), My lashes looked good for my vacation, and my artist took extra time to make sure she got all my lashes done. 2 stars docked because the awesome atmosphere is gone and now that they rent booths and require the girls to buy there own product seems to be more of a bad business strategy then a smart one... I got my very first set of eyelash extensions today, done by Lo Jensen. They are beautiful! I was really nervous to get them (we've all heard horror stories), but I'm really glad I did. I wish I hadn't had so much coffee right before my appointment though because my eyelids had a hard time being still--lesson learned! Lo's studio is very nice and clean. I have been a customer for about 2 years now. Up until recently, I have had nothing but positive experiences. Cathy is a fantastic stylist who is fair, professional, and does an excellent job in keeping my lashes looking beautiful while maintaining the health of my natural lashes. I've referred several clients to LMW because my experience with Cathy has been so consistently great. Just last week, I referred my Aunt to LMW and her stylist was Tonya who she raved positive things about! 5 stars for Cathy and Tonya! I also referred my sister-in-law to LMW. Unfortunately, we both had a negative experience with Hannah. However, it is only fair for me to speak to my personal experience in this review. Hannah sold me a gift certificate to the salon without communicating that the certificate is only good to use with her, not any stylist. That was disappointing as I truly wanted the receiver to choose any stylist. The receiver of the gift certificate did not obtain the service from Hannah within the expiration date. As a result, Hannah only honored a portion of the certificate. This was disappointing to hear because Hannah had been paid in full for the service in advance and I felt the service should be honored in full. I was hoping to gain an understanding as to why, in a service oriented business with the hope of a return customer, would Hannah only honor a portion of the value. In an attempt to discuss it with Hannah, initially she refused to speak with me over the phone or in person even though I offered to speak with her between clients or when she was available. She said "I won't be able to talk on the phone." She suggested I speak to another stylist about it or I could speak with her via text. After a text chain that lasted about 30 minutes (we could have had a phone call by then!), we finally spoke about it. I was apprehensive to try eyelash extensions but when I stumbled upon hannahblashes on Instagram, I decided to give lashes a shot. I got Hannah's number and made an appointment. She is great at responding and answered all my pricing/inquiry questions before I went it. Her room in Lash My World was an adorable, clean space! She had beautiful art and the comfiest chair. I was worried that the lash glue fumes would hurt my eyes. Thankfully, she has an awesome hand-held dryer that blows cool air. I was nervous to open my eyes once they were done. Hannah was so patient and sweet to me. She told me to take my time and to use the dryer for as long as I needed. I LOVE my lashes because they are light-weight. I've seen a lot of lash extensions that are heavy and droopy. My eyelashes are naturally straight so I was nervous I would have droopy extensions. This was not the case. They are perfectly curled and do not look fake. I got my nails done right after my lashes and a lady asked me if my eyelashes were real because they look like real hairs! Hannah made me feel so comfortable and I can tell she knows what she's doing. She is constantly booked (which is a great sign) so be responsible when making an appointment and schedule ahead!
