Although their price list is a bit more expensive than I'm used to, I booked an appointment anyway because new customers get 30% off. Street parking is hilariously easy compared to the Bayside/Flushing salons I'm used to frequenting. My technician determined that an oval lash map would suit my eye shape best. I decided on a C14 mink set, and was guided into a private area closed off from other customers by actual walls rather than thin curtains. The bed was so comfortable, I fell asleep within a few minutes of starting! Halfway through both eyes, she removed the tapes and gave me a mirror to confirm that I liked how it looked so far. The rest of the appointment went by quickly, it only took about an hour total to apply 110 pieces per eye. As a testament to their work's longevity, ZERO pieces fell out during the first week and they still looked good (slightly thinner, minimal gapping) 3 weeks later when I came back for my fill. Definitely choose mink over silk, it's longer lasting due to how lightweight and soft they are!

She was great at answering my questions and going over all of the various options. I went for C-Curl, length 12. And can I say again how awesome she was? She is by far the most meticulous and experienced lash tech I have ever been to. She was so thorough (so if you're in a rush or the type that wants in and out - you're out of luck!) - she was gentle and took her time - carefully adjusting and rechecking until the very end. I told her I wanted a very natural look, and my lashes came out exactly like that. She recommended the pricier lash options, saying they would be better for my eyes because they are lighter, but it felt like the focus was more on the expensive options. I also noticed that other reviews mentioned the same thing. The issue I had was that my lashes started falling out much earlier than expected, literally within the first few days going into the second week, even though I do not wear makeup, do not use any oil-based products, and did not rub my eyes. Lashes are not supposed to fall out this quickly, which was disappointing given how beautiful they looked initially.

One thing to look out for is they would always insist on doing a new set rather than give me a touch up, after 3 weeks. They said this was because my lashes were very delicate and they didn't want to use the tweezers to remove and risk damaging my fine lashes. I do appreciate the consideration for my lash health, but despite my fine lashes I never had an issue with this at my former lash salons where I'd just go every 3 weeks for a touch up without any damage. This was also annoying because I'd have to spend more time and pay a higher rate (new set price vs. 3 week touch up), even though only 3 weeks had passed and all I wanted was a touch up. I miss my old lash salon in California where they were such professionals and experts in the field. I went there for years and always received beautiful multidimensional lashes quickly and efficiently, while my natural lashes stayed healthy and intact. So, I know it is possible. At Seika Lash, they tend to only do one length rather than mix lengths to achieve a more multidimensional and natural look. My search for a great lash place continues....
