Leases her own one room refurbished beautiful pastel colored Boutique Salon room in the Sachi Salons building. (Next to the older mattress store). Poor Results. Disappointed, Unprofessional. I heard great things about lash lifting and tinting. An internet search for highly reviewed places in my area turned up the page for Lashes and Body on Fleek. Eager, I booked online and there was only one available appointment time, 12pm. No problem, it actually worked for me. The day before the appointment, Mae texted my cell, asking to bump up my appointment to 11:15am in order to "have more than an hour" with me. I appreciated this reasoning, so I agreed to the reschedule. We proceeded to text back and forth... a pseudo-quasi-consultation of sorts. She had asked me if I'd ever had Lash Extensions before, which I had, and I explained to her my reasons for wanting a Lash Lift instead. She followed with a long list explaining the differences between the two servivces (extensions are longer lasting and more dramatic,) and I said again, "I'd like to stick with the Lift since it's more natural looking." Mae then continued to try to convince me to change to a Lash Extension Service instead. HUGE RED FLAG. In order to end that conversation, I told her that I would give the idea some thought. (But what I should have done instead is decide against using Mae and went with another technician.) I researched online the difference between the two services and then for the THIRD TIME, I told her that I wanted the Lash Lift. She replied, "I understand and respect your decision." Really Mae? Do you? The following day, the called me to reschedule my appointment for a SECOND time, stating that she wanted to go take a walk. In retrospect, I find this absolutely unprofessional. It was only a difference of fifteen minutes and on its own it may have been fine, but this is the second time for a reschedule. I respect and prefer professionals that keep their appointments. Now, the lash lift process itself was very chill and relaxing. It's difficult to keep my eyes closed for so long, especially when someone is fiddling around with your lashes, but Mae was very gentle. She played nice music and her little studio has a nice atmosphere. That's about all that was nice about it, though. In the middle of my service, she got a visitor and chatted with them WHILE THERE WERE CHEMICALS ON MY EYES. It wasn't a long visit, but I can't help but wonder if this attributed with the awful results I ended up with. After the visitor left, Mae continued working on me. There was a point towards the end where the eye pads that they place on your bottom lashes kept peeling upwards. This occurred during a point where we were waiting for the chemicals to process with a timer... After Mae noticed the pad was peeling up and into the fragile lashes on my left eye, she would press it down quickly and then go back to doing whatever on her phone. My eyes were closed, but I could hear her tapping away on her screen. The eye pad came up and bent my eyelashes three or four times, when Mae probably should have just HELD IT down during the processing time which was only around seven minutes. By the time all was said and done, I left the studio with crunchy, curly lashes that looked like PUBIC HAIR on my left eye. I texted her, "Are my lashes supposed to be crunchy and bent?" She replied, "No, you can rinse and dry them," despite her SPECIFICALLY TELLING ME THAT I CANNOT GET MY LASHES WET FOR 24 HOURS after the service. When I got home, I rinsed my lashes as instructed with no improvement. Shortly after I rinsed them, I sent her two close-up pictures of the lashes on my left eye, showing that they were curved anywhere between a sharp 90-degree to 180-degree angle, and she had the nerve to reply, "What about it?" Ugh, re-reading her texts makes me so mad. I've been ruminating about this awful service since the day of my appointment, December 30th, 2021. I'm writing this review on the 13th of January 2022, and not only do my lashes still look like pubes covered in spider babies, they are constantly falling out or breaking off into my EYES. I wish so badly that I could attach images to this review; I have a photo of several of the lashes that have fallen out or broken off where you can see the uneven and angular curls. DO NOT USE MAE FOR YOUR LASH LIFT AND TINTING PROCEDURE. Moral of my story: Never trust a technician that tries to talk you out of a service that you're requesting without an in-person consultation and a valid reason. Mae came highly recommended with the reviews online, but I'm thinking now that her flagship service is the Lash Extensions and she has no idea what she is doing in regards to a Lash Lift. If all you want are Lash Extensions, you might be safe, but I just had to write my honest review of my Lash Lifting experience. Two thumbs down! read more
