    The "Lashings" burger
    Frances D.

Ok.. let me start by stating this place knows burgers and they know burgers well. I decided to try the burger named after the restaurant itself the "Lashings" burger. For me this was a bit scary I'm not going to lie. It came with all the traditional Aussie Burger fixings and a few extras.. it had a huge mound of Turkey bacon.. beef patty.. tasty cheese.. egg.. pineapple.. lettus.. tomato and of course beetroot. For me there was way to much going on to be able to appreciate all the elements. I did ask for the egg to be cooked well done (mainly because this was my first burger with an egg) but after I started to bite into it I was starting to think how much of a difference would have been if the yolk was runny? The pineapple however did stand out nicely with the mix of the bbq sauce they used. The place is your typical fast food joint when it comes to decore. It's very welcoming and bright which is pleasing to the eye. The place isn't massive but could easy host a group of friends who just walked in from the beach. I like the fact they had a hand washing station.. this is because they as owners know some of their burgers can get messy... I had to use it after mine :) I also love how the sauces they serve is all made in house. That makes them unique and well love by regulars. All in all check it out if your in and around Brighton le sands

I got the standard LASHINGS Beef Burger. It was pretty good. The price is acceptable ($10.90), analogous to GBK in the UK and Fuddruckers in the US. The staff were pretty nice. The restaurant features a sink next to the counter for you to wash your hands. It's a nifty feature. There is somewhat of a wait for the burger to be prepared. So, this place is more of a sit-down restaurant than a fastfood one, in case people were wondering. I waited about 5-10 min for my burger, which is fairly normal for these types of places.

What a burger! The range is incredible and the flavours are awesome. There is something for everyone even the ankle biters. The staff are incredibly friendly and full of smiles. Would you believe they are all related to one another and work as a team to provide the best experience for you. They are very proud of their burgers.

Lashings. A great burger restaurant for friends, family, colleagues, singles and everyone! Call me old fashioned but before I came to Lashings, I had thought the term meant heaps of, or punishment by whip! The only punishment being issued here is the burgers are big - so come with an appetite! The menu is beefy with something for everyone. Chicken, beef, lamb, beef, veggie, beef.. See a pattern? Beef is their specialty so if you like beef - get a beef burger! You won't be disappointed!! There is a Sextuple Lashings Burger! I've seen it with my own eyes! That thing was mammoth!! Oozing with layers of seven delicious slices of cheese and six beef patties.. Bacon, egg, beetroot, tomato, pineapple and lettuce were the final touches to the mammoth Lashings Burger. Literally stacks of food!! Lashings is a family run business. Another reason why I love this place - we have to support our local business owners. Especially when they create awesome burgers! The guys who own and run the restaurant are super nice guys. You can tell they are passionate about their business and the food. Loved my burger and I know everyone is going to rave about the burgers so I'm going to focus on the sauces for a moment - The BBQ and chilli mayo are winners but special mention has to go go the pickled mayo. This sauce was awesome - made-in-house it tastes like the Big Mac sauce on steroids. I got some extra on the side to dunk my chips into. So, what are you waiting for? Head down to Brighton-Le-Sands and get a Lashings!

    Lashings chicken burger & fries

Took a stroll down the beach and decided on a burger for supper. Chose the chilli chicken burger and was not disappointed. Great portion size, super crunchy fries. My wife even decided too take her burger take away since fries were plenty. Will definitely visit again!

Everyone who knows me knows I don't like burgers. I know I don't like burgers. I know that you know that I know I don't like burgers. The inside of my body tells me how much it despises burgers. My partner was shocked for me to suggest a burger place even. But why not, eh. Maybe this will be the joint to lessen my horror of them. Well it was very very close. I must say these burgers were delicious. Fresh ingredients, simple product, tastes good. The toasted soft bun (with no damn sesame seeds) was a nice touch. I had the big cheese burger sans the beetroot and my partner had the double decker. He was contemplating ordering another burger he loved it so much. We ordered the combo deals with chips and drinks, what a bargain $27 all up. For the quality, especially burgers, which I find unattractively messy to eat that was amazing deal. They had utensils if you needed to slice yours up, like I did and a hand washing station for the messier eater types. Parking is free at Coles as I wouldn't have a clue how to get there via public transport; drive much easier. Admittedly it did take me over an hour to eat my monster burger and I made an effort to finish it all. It was great to actually enjoy a food I normally avoid. Nice work Lash people.

The Lashings Brighton "Double Sextuple-Whiplash Burger". Eat it in on you own within 30 minutes and it's free.

AMAZING burger restaurant. A few friends and I decided to go large and try a few of Lashings Brighton famous burgers. I tried their "Double Whiplash Burger" which had two beef patties, 3 slices of American cheese, turkey bacon (delicious!), pineapple, jalapenos, tomato, lettuce, chilli mayo and pickled mayo on a nice soft bun. One mate had the same burger, but decided to super size it to 6 patties, with 6 slices of cheese too, & is called the "Lashings Double Sextuple-Whiplash Burger". And another mate wanted to try for the free burger challenge so choose the "Double Sextuple-Whiplash Burger" which had 12 patties & 12 cheese slices (yes 12, can you believe that!). This burger was to be free if my mate could finish it within 30 minutes on his pat-ma-lone. He failed but it was funny to watch. So, it's a great place, awesome staff and was handy to get the free underground parking, as it's located within the Novotel complex. We will return ... not sure if I could ever finish the 12 pattie challenge but the Double Whiplash needs my attention again very soon.

Sign says "voted in the top 10 burgers" by the Daily telegraph…read more My flavour of the month is burgers. Im on a burger mission around town. Lard help my waistline, and forgive me for I have sinned in gluttony. Dougies grill looks pretty unassuming from the outside, all bar the afore mentioned signage. It never looks very busy. I've been here once before and thought it was O.K. That was before my crusade for the holy burger grail. The staff there were, although attentive immediately, rather non-plussed by their job. I asked if the chilli she offered was hot or not, and she just shrugged. I opted for a little bit, and Im glad I did... i assume this is Dougie's sauce which is mentioned on the menu. I got the Aussie burger which costs $7.95. Seems steep, but when we compare to most gourmet burger prices, which I shall mention in other reviews, this is but a fraction of the cost for a burger, that to my mind was excellent. I admit I added more mayo when I got back to the lunch room, but that's just a personal preference and I didnt ask for extra. Burger tasted chargrilled but with the right amount of seasoning. It doesnt look at all like a fancy burger, but trust me, it tasted awesome. it contained all the things youd expect from an aussie burger aka beetroot and BBQ sauce. Conveniently near the train station. Stop in next time youre in Kogtown . you wont regret it.

They also have a store in Qld and a couple of express stores. We visited Hurricanes at their Brighton Le Sands location. Brighton Le Sands is one of the lesser known waterfront dining areas in Sydney. Hurricanes has a prime spot there, right on the waters edge, boasting views of our historical Botany Bay. It also has views of the airport and aeronautical enthusiasts can enjoy planes taking off over the bay. It is spacious venue with floor to ceiling glass to take advantage of the views. It is extremely large with plenty of tables and 2 bars and open plan so you could easily host a large party and they are booked up with 350 people for New Years Eve. We arrived right on noon and it was just opening. We were promptly taken to our table, right at the windows with a lovely outlook. We perused the menu and staff updated us with the daily specials. Hurricanes are famous for their ribs and steaks and they use a unique basting sauce to provide a lovely flavour to their meats. Meat cuts are all halal certified from their suppliers and can have no sauce upon request. They also offer plenty of steaks on the menu, salads and a range of appetisers too. They may not be known first and foremost as a seafood restaurant, but there's plenty of seafood options too. Our visit to Hurricane's saw us try some of these seafood options, beginning with the scallops. Perfectly cooked, the scallops were served in the open shell, atop sweet potato purée, resembling the look of roe. We thoroughly enjoyed this start to the menu. Following on from this, we ordered one of the specials, the grilled whole barramundi. It was soft and flaky, with the flesh falling from the bone. We enjoyed this with lemon and a side salad. We couldn't go past ordering a steak, which Hurricanes are notorious for. There's numerous meats and cuts to select from. Whether it be the rump, strip stirloin, fillet tenderloin or T bone, you will find your perfect match. Wagyu, dry aged or long fed beef, Hurricanes sure know their meats. We went for the dry aged beef, aged for 21 days, served as a strip loin on the bone (400g), the flavour was lovely and it was cooked spot on to our request. Meats come with your choice of fries, salad or baked potato and you can order a sauce to accompany it. Hurricanes also serve other main menu items like beef cheeks, lamb cutlets, pork knuckle, grilled chicken, burgers and more. There's also combo deals like steak and ribs or meat or seafood platters. There's desserts and cocktails to top off your dining experience. The menu is certainly extremely approachable so we imagine it would satisfy any dining party.

My flight back to LA was in the morning, so I didn't have time to eat before I got to the airport…read more Hence, I had to find some breakfast at the International Terminal. I had read that there were fewer food options to choose from after security, so I decided to get a bite at the food court before customs. Came across this Hungry Jack's in the T1 food court and decided to give it a try. If you are not from Australia, you probably don't recognize this brand name. But you might if you saw the logo. That is because Hungry Jack's is the Australian name for Burger King. The Jack in the company name is derived from the first name of the owner of the BK fast food franchise in Australia. The Hungry Jack's menu has a lot of the same offerings you find at Burger King like the signature Whopper burger. As it was the morning though, I had to choose from the breakfast menu offerings. Offerings here are pretty comparable to what you will find at McDonald's. Since I want to try something different when I am visiting an out of country fast food chain, I decided to try the promo, Brekky Hero value meal ($7.50). The sandwich comes with a hash brown and your choice of coffee drink. I decided to get a latte, which came from a coffee machine. The Brekky Hero was interesting as the bun was like the ones that BK uses for their chicken sandwiches, except the toppings inside contained bacon, eggs, cheese and a hash brown. It was pretty filling for a breakfast sandwich and the price for the meal was reasonable given that this is the airport. It seems like Hungry Jack's has better pricing than the McD's at the airport. If you are looking for inexpensive food to fill you up before your flight out, this Hungry's Jack is a good option. It is close to the entrance to customs, so it is conveniently located if you are in a rush to grab a meal before heading airside.
