Oh Laskers, how I love thee! Hubby has been getting his nice watches here since before I knew him 10 years ago and was the obvious place to get my engagement ring. We met with Nicole to look at diamonds, shapes, settings, etc. it was a really fun experience and I knew that since she met me and heard what I was looking for that I would love whatever hubby proposed with. A few months later he proposed with a beautiful ring! We then went back in to pick out my two and his one wedding band. I also fell in love with a diamond necklace he ended up getting me for my wedding day gift. We got both of our mothers a set of jewelry that matched their personalities here. The customer service is divine. Now, 5 years later, we actually upgraded my ring and designed a new one. We kept my engagement setting and Nicole was able to put a pink stone in it and I now wear it on my right hand which I love! I just referred my brother who is proposing this holiday season to use them since we've had such an amazing experience. This will always be our go to jeweler. I took my cheap wrist watch in to have the crystal replaced. The job probably could have been done on the spot, but because I didn't order the acrylic piece from them, they wouldn't do it. I have no problem with that, but what I do have a problem with is the attitude of the sales people: I might as well have asked for a free diamond, they were that indignant at such a request! The day will come when my two twenty-something sons will need wedding rings. They won't be going to Laskers, that's for sure. read more

Beware veterans and military families!!! I lost my ring that was purchased from laskers worth over $10,000. while my husband was deployed to Afghanistan. I then purchased a stone that was to be put in the same ring setting at laskers. Before I could buy the stone my husband told me I needed to have it checked by laskers to make sure it was a true diamond. Hans then check the stone and had written down the quality color and clarity along with the cart size. I then bought the stone. I then had laskers order the band. Hans called me and told me the stone was fake. I could not contact the seller, obviously because he knew it was fake. laskers did nothing for us. once we purchased a real diamond laskers wasn't even willing to give us a discount on the band. My husband is now back from Afghanistan.We will never go there again!! Thanks for taking care of the soldiers that are fighting overseas along with their families. I would just like to add that I ended up going to Eric's Dimond in Chippewa and they took care of everything I needed. They felt so horrible for all that I had gone through during this. BEWARE OF THESE SNEAKY FOLKS my daughter bought a ring from Laskers. She later wanted to get an estimate to sell it. She took it to 2 jewelers in Chippewa Falls. They both said it was an old cut and not worth much, Laskers offered her almost nothing for the ring. Upon further inspection we learned that it was an old cut and an old diamond. I went in and talked to Hans the lead gemologist at Lasker.s He starting shaking like a leaf when I pinned him down after doing my research, and dropped the stone on the carpet. Furthermore, he told me that about 10% of the NEW rings sold at Laskers have used diamonds! I was floored and asked if they felt obligated to inform the unsuspecting buyer-- he said no and they do not, he said they would admit it is asked. WHO WOULD EVEN EXPECT IT TO ASK!!! These people are duping uninformed consumers who live in the area. I would encourage anyone who has recently bought a diamond from these crooks to go back and demand to see the source of the stone. Diamonds can degrade with use, it is not uncommon for them to chip slightly after years of use. we have since moved to California but come back in the summer and highly recommend Anderson's jeweler's in Chippewa Falls. They are skilled craftsmen and HONEST. I later learned that Lasker is making money in Rochester and struggling in Eau Claire and tricks like this help them to make profit off of unsuspecting people. Lasker Jewelers is the best jewelery store in Eau Claire Hands Down. I have been shopping at Laskers since I came to town in 1995. They have the best and most extensive collection of jewelery that the other jewelery stores in Eau Claire can come even close to. They are always bringing in new and fresh items and can custom make items. Contrary to the one bad review they have repaired any of my jewelery that has broken. The one time I went to another jewelery store(big mistake) and bought a diamond ring, they gave me a fair price on it, so I could get a ring that wasn't turning my wife's finger black. The store from the outside may look too ritzy, but once you get inside they have something for every price point. They even have gift items for your love one, like enamel and gold dipped roses. The staff is so helpful and non-intimidating. I have worked with Pam and Jill throughout the years. Their the best, but so are the others. Do go there, but plan on spending a long time looking at all the bling. It will be hard to decide which one(s) you will walk out with. They can always start a wish list on the computer, so that your favorite piece(s) are remembered the next time you come into the store.
