Exhibitions change almost every month, featuring different artists, with a schedule on their website. Opening receptions are held the first Friday of every month from 5-7pm. After a visit to the courthouse, I spied this gallery across the street and sauntered in. Beautiful original paintings in oil and watercolor, many of Plumas County's natural beauty. Giclée prints at a lower price point are another option. I purchased a beautiful watercolor print by local artist Sylvia Smith of a fisherman in one of the wild rivers of the region, surrounded by deep forest. The people working in the gallery were uniformly helpful and friendly, making for a pleasant browsing and buying experience. The gallery is located in an historic building, formerly the circa 1873 Capitol Saloon building, purchased and renovated in 2011 thanks to work by the local community. Definitely a worthwhile stop for art lovers in the Quincy area.

I was most impressed with the extensive collection of Ayala Bar accessories in the mirrored cases towards the back of the shop. She is one of my favorite artists and I chatted with the sales associate for a bit before trying on several pieces. I was looking for a pair of earrings that would go well with a lot of my neutral everyday wear, something that would be simple yet elegant, but unique and beautiful. I found just the perfect pair here along with a gift for my sister that I knew immediately would be her birthday gift. The nice salesperson boxed up the items and added a nice ribbon to the gift item. I loved this shop and look forward to future visits.

The atmosphere is cool as it's kind of like an industrial storefront in the Dickerson road arts district. Lots of cool arts stuff outside. I was driving by and I was like, yes, this must be the gallery. I visited the group art show to check it out and it all looked great. Didn't make the opening as I'm shy, sober and socially awkward but heard it went well. I hear Reno Art Works has art classes in the space which seems pretty awesome too.
