I wish all movie theaters were like this! Such a classic theater. Staff was amazing. They were so friendly and welcoming.

This is definitely a place I'd love to see multiple movies in, I think the only thing I would have to complain about would be the people that come to watch the movie with you, cause they can be pretty rude sometimes, but that's none of the theaters fault, so yeah honestly I have no complaints about this theater.

Our families came to watch a movie together and while my kids were not perfectly quiet as was to be expected given their ages they were doing fine and no one was disturbed or having any problems until the older guy and lady who work their were sitting in on the movie and thought they were being a distraction so preceded to first tell my husband to take one of them out then sat their whispering about us like we couldn't hear them and when I finally decided to leave as they were being more a distraction then my kids the older lady laughed at us and continued to make comments to the older guy whom I'm assuming was her husband. We have been to plenty of movies before and we always did our best to keep our kids quiet but in the end it's a family movie. Kids will cheer, talk, have fun and babies will cry. If anyone has a problem with that then as far as I can see they are the problem. Not the kids.

Five stars isn't high enough…read more I went to the Pageant Theater and even before I walked in, I noticed this place is on a killer block: a movie theater, vintage clothing store, hair salon and coffee shop all in a row. It's the perfect brick and mortar/ walkable town experience. When I went in, I felt like I was in a different era. The building itself has so much character and such a unique layout, I felt like I was Travis Bickle from taxi driver in that scene where he gets off his shift and goes to a movie theater after (but in a wholesome way of course). It's so assuring to know that places like this are still out there. If you're a Chico local or just blowing through the town, be sure to make a stop here because you definitely won't regret it. Can't wait to go back.

If you get there early, you can grab a seat on one of the big sofas on the front row. (You may want to bring a throw pillow or bulky jacket to provide lumbar support -- these are pretty tired, but still comfy if you have the right additional cushions.) Fresh, house-made popcorn. Plus, you can bring in coffee/beverages/eats from the cafe next door (when it's open). You can't beat the prices, especially because you're getting first-run international and independent films in Chico! General Admission: $6.50 Seniors / Children: $4.50 Matinee Price: $4.00 Cheap Skate Monday Nights: $3.00

They have great matinee deals on Tuesdays (happens to be my day off each week) so I find myself here whenever I'm in town. The problems I have w the bigger cities movies, is that they're too big and crowded for me - and way too expensive. The prices here for the concession stand are very reasonable and the staff is so friendly! The bathrooms are really clean and have a lot of stalls, so unlike the big cities, I'm not ever waiting in a long line to use the restroom. The vibe is so relaxing, fun and comfortable. The last 10-15 years, whenever I go to the movies in the bigger cities, it kind of stresses me out lol -like, order tix online to be sure to get a seat or pick your seat online etc. I'm just over it and love how this reminds me of going to the movies when I was little in the early 80s. It's just a simple, well priced, good time. And even in the heat or cold, the parking is so close to the place that, unlike other places, I don't have to battle the elements and walk hella far fr the parking spot to the inside lobby. And inside is nice and small too- the big city theaters have become so huge it's so much walking and waiting in lines. Staff attitudes in the larger theaters are also not great, whereas, we've been coming here now for 5 years and are always met w the friendliest staff. I love this theater.

The audio has cut out now 3 times. It is a very popular movie playing so I would assume this just wouldn't happen. I also want to mention how incredibly expensive their snack bar is. A small popcorn is $7? This isn't an AMC or other big movie chain. It's Oroville, CA. Even their drink prices are on the higher end. It takes 2 minutes to google how much they charge and spoiler alert...it's 700% of what they buy their supplies for. Overall, not a great experience. I'd rather go to Chico's movie theater and enjoy no audio mess ups, comfier chairs, and an overall better experience. Also just want to mention that I know of at least 3 people who've had their cars broken into at this establishment. Absolutely insane.
