Had the Rueben and bacon cheeseburger. Great portions, tasted amazing, and super friendly service. Highly recommended!

This place has been here forever although I didn't find out about it until 20-odd years ago. It's a block off the main drag and a block south of the road to the Observatory. Easy enough to find when someone clues you on on it's existence. Definitely a dive bar although not a Biker dive bar. Mostly old geezers like myself and popular with the townies. I always get the vibe that I am the only outsider in the place when I'm there although the people seem friendly enough. The big draw is the cheap booze and the gambling options. I'm happy with anything cold on tap and I don't gamble (or play pool) so I mostly just hang out and enjoy a decent sandwich and a cold one. The bar (which is where I usually sit) is typically fully occupied by locals who look to be ranchers and other blue collar types although mostly long retired guys. I come though Goldendale a few times every year but I have other fave stopping places for grub so I don't stop in here that often. Nice place and nice people, as I said but I don't have much in common with them except for a preference for non-flashy, reasonably priced dive bar food and beer. read more

I ordered the fish sandwich with tater tots. It was delicious!! The service was fast without diminishing the quality of the food. From the outside this cafe looks more like a bar, so I wouldn't have typically entered, but I am glad I did. I highly recommend trying the food here. read more

Annoying. Drove off the main highway with my family to get some lunch. It's a cafe, but then when we got there, we are met with a big sign that read "no kids". If it's a bar, it shouldn't say cafe. Rude. read more

Stopped in for dinner while charging up my EV using the ChargePoint site in front of the courthouse. Had a good grilled cheese and ham sandwich, with curly fries and an ice tea. Nice folks, even the tipsy ones. It is after all a dive bar, albeit a bit too clean and tidy for a true dive bar. Sat for an hour reading and munching without being hurried. I love a dive bar with cheap stiff drinks, pull tabs, good food, a pool table, and a hot bartender. The manager from Quality Inn sent me here. It's full of friendly locals, I was welcomed (I'm a minority) and I felt at home. I had a top sirloin meal for $7.75, the special, and I was satisfied. The bartender Erika really took care of me. Tip her well! They are known for their burgers. read more

Went to Sinclair to have a bite to eat and a beer . 10 mins later the bartender came over we ordered a beer when she came back we requested a menu. She promptly told us the kitchen was closed and walked away it was about 9 or 930 no later. The bartender then waited another 20 mins or so then walked over and informed us that they had finger foods. We were done with her customer service! we paid our bill and walked across the street to great food and service. What a waste very disappointing. read more

We have been here a few times. It's always good and exactly what I'd expect from a bar in a small town. Tonight was our first visit in a busy weekend night (and it was BUSY!). After watching our bartender, I knew I had to leave a review. This business is very lucky to have Brandy. She was personable, attentive and knowledgeable. We were driving across country and stopped in Goldendale for something to eat. The Simcoe Cafe was the only thing that we could find open, and we were a little worried because it doesn't look like much. And, to be honest, the other reviews made it clear it was, yes, a dive bar. BUT the food was good, fast, and cheap. Service was friendly. I had a great juicy hamburger and husband had a club. Nothing fancy. Just good home cooking! This is your typical small-town bar with pub-style food -- burgers, sandwiches, etc. It's cheap, it's okay, it does the trick. I had a tuna melt and the BF had the fish and chips. Nothing spectacular but my sandwich was overflowing with tuna salad - really good. The service was fast and friendly and the place looked clean. We would definitely eat here again. read more

I have been back to this location several times since my first review, and I believe that it rates at least one more star from my original review .It is a local bar that serves good food. The patrons and the owners are very friendly and make you feel very comfortable. After you have been there a few times they know what you drink and often have it ready for you when you sit down. They have recently hired a new cook and have expanded their kitchen hours for lunch and dinner. Goldendale does not have a lot of eating places, but if you're passing through and looking for a quick bite to eat the food at the Simco is good and inexpensive. It is primarily a bar so I would take that into consideration if you have children with you read more

I stopped in and was having a bowl of clam chowder. I ordered a coors light and then ate the luke warm clam chowder. I was having some fun and was mingling with some of the locals and a new bar tender came in with a cold and she was coughing into her hand and seemed lethargic. The other bartender went to the other side of the bar and had poured herself a triple whiskey and sat down. The new bartender stated that I was cut off . I was surprised and my fellow patrons were also wondering why. She stated "the bartender across the street called me and told me you had too much". At first I was very upset and I left saying I would leave a bad review but I returned to calmly confront her. I was speaking reasonably and then she told me that she overheard me saying I was going to walk home so she said that she thought by that , I must be drunk. I have a commercial driver's license so I told her that I was just being responsible as a CDL requires you have a BAC of .04 or lower! Then a patron who WAS drunk , shouted across the bar and I left. This is a local watering hole and they don't like outsiders. The chowder was half cold and I will never spend my money here. Just a few town drunks doing pull tabs. read more

Went to the Simcoe Cafe to watch the Seahawk vs. Broncos game, and was unexpectedly surprised with really good food and excellent service. I had a mushroom cheese burger (grilled), deep fried mushrooms and onion rings. the waitress said the cook really takes pride in his food, as well he should, it was excellent. Note: The Simcoe is a bar. If your into atmosphere and what's trendy this place would not be for you. but if you want a good burger and beer, I highly recommend it! read more
