Decided I was done with that! I went online to book and picked a stylist who had minimal reviews and lots of appointments. When I got there we spent time discussing my hair, what I was looking for and my experiences in the past (she actually understood what I wanted). Then she asked me how I came to book with her. I told her I found the appointments online and she had lots...meaning only two things...she was horrible or new. I then told her I figured it would not be worse than the chop shops, just more expensive. I walked out with a big smile on my face, a wonderful cut and color and an appointment for down the road. Here's my back story - I had gotten my hair done at another salon that messed up my hair. I left that salon with a very sore scalp and a bad dye job. Because I have an extremely public facing job, I couldn't show up with the hair I had for another 3 days until the original salon had time to fix it. Plus, with how rough the first stylist at the different salon was with my scalp, I didn't want risk it more pain. So... I called Mirror, a salon the next morning after the bad dye job. The owner (who, as I mentioned - is awesome and has a great sense of humor) was able to get me in with Nellie, SAME DAY. Let me just say, Nellie is fantastic. It was SO nice having her do my hair. She is soooo gentle with your head, she is great at listening and then executing the results you want, and she goes the extra mile (or 5) to make sure you leave feeling more beautiful than you did coming in. She also has great taste in music . ...Music is subjective, but a good hair colorist/artist is universal. And Nellie is an EXCEPTIONAL hair artist who has vision, passion, and skill. She went so far above and beyond by staying late to finish the job - which I can't even say how much I appreciated. If you are wondering who to make an appointment with, make it with Nellie.
