I really can't express my appreciation of this place. I had such an awesome experience with Nellie and the salon owner. Here's my back story - I had gotten my hair done at another salon that messed up my hair. I left that salon with a very sore scalp and a bad dye job. Because I have an extremely public facing job, I couldn't show up with the hair I had for another 3 days until the original salon had time to fix it. Plus, with how rough the first stylist at the different salon was with my scalp, I didn't want risk it more pain. So... I called Mirror, a salon the next morning after the bad dye job. The owner (who, as I mentioned - is awesome and has a great sense of humor) was able to get me in with Nellie, SAME DAY. Let me just say, Nellie is fantastic. It was SO nice having her do my hair. She is soooo gentle with your head, she is great at listening and then executing the results you want, and she goes the extra mile (or 5) to make sure you leave feeling more beautiful than you did coming in. She also has great taste in music . ...Music is subjective, but a good hair colorist/artist is universal. And Nellie is an EXCEPTIONAL hair artist who has vision, passion, and skill. She went so far above and beyond by staying late to finish the job - which I can't even say how much I appreciated. If you are wondering who to make an appointment with, make it with Nellie. I experienced unsatisfactory service during a recent interaction over the phone with a representative, possibly named Sean, who was exceedingly rude and condescending. Attempting to reschedule to due illness and not wanting to get others sick in the salon, I was charged a fee and informed in an unprofessional manner that "it's not our fault you are sick." The representative further stated, "We could have charged you $75 instead of $25, so you're lucky." This level of discourtesy is unprecedented in my experience. While I would have been open to rescheduling and even paying a fee, the representative's attitude was unacceptable. I will not be returning and will recommend that others DO NOT come to this establishment. I suggest that management address the importance of customer service and professionalism with their staff. Consequently, I have to leave my first bad review. read more

Oh my gosh, I LOVE my hair now! It was my first time visiting this low-key salon and I was pleasantly surprised by its great products, calm atmosphere and attentive staff. Scheduling was incredibly easy (did it online through Vagaro), the wait to get in was minimal and the price for services is beyond reasonable. The main reason for my writing of this long overdue review however, is my stylist Sean Clay! Holy moly, what an absolute gem Mirror has in their salon! Sean gave me the best (dare I say, PERFECT?!) haircut I've had in at least 15 years. After my favorite stylist moved out of state over a decade ago I have bounced around from stylist to stylist and have had some really, really terrible cuts. I was ready to throw in the towel and surrender to cutting my own hair for the foreseeable future. Thank the universe I wandered into Sean's chair. He's not just an incredibly skilled and talented stylist but he also is a treasure trove of hair knowledge. He's insanely fun to chat with and watch work, so friendly and just genuinely pleasant to be around. Such a wonderful experience being in his chair. 5 stars! I was referred to this salon by a gal I volunteer with and I was not disappointed. I tried booking through Yelp but there wasn't an available appointment for another 2 weeks. I decided to call and was able to schedule an appointment with Sarah at the end of the week. She was fantastic! I've never met her before and in about 5 min of talking, I felt like we were BFF'S in another life, ha. I have long hair and wanted to keep the lenght, but knew the ends were a disaster. We talked through the process and decided about 4 inches would be the ideal number. The whole process - wash, cut, style - took about an hour and we talked the entire time! Everything about the experience was fantastic! I look forward to seeing Sarah again in another few months. Upon leaving, I picked up their services menu and may come back for something else...like eyebrows! Anyways, you can't go wrong with Sarah, I highly recommend booking with her. read more

Libby had a mess to work with. My previous hairdresser had fallen asleep at the wheel so to speak and I was left with what looked like 5 different hairstyles on my head. I had been growing it out since February in order for there to be something to work with and because we just moved here in January and our previous hair person was visiting us almost every month as a friend it was awkward. I couldn't take it anymore but Libby took one look and figured it all out. She listened to what I wanted, communicated what she could do and what she saw, and the end result is exactly what I wanted. I took a chance on Mirror because I needed a salon close to home and one where I could bring my 12 week old baby with me. I got an appointment with Ra'Nae and she was Exactly what I needed in a stylist! I Really needed a refresh with my hair as I'm growing out a short undercut and it's just funky. I want to grow it out and she was SO understanding of what I asked for. She explained what She thought would be best for my hair and what she would do in order to keep what length I had while shaping if up to where it had a new style that would grow out well. The best part was she pointed out some things about my hair that I usually have to ask other stylists about (eg:my hairline in the back looks best left longer and pointed at the edges rather than rounded like Every stylist tries doing). It was super chill and baby was a tiny bit fussy at first but they didn't mind. He ended up falling asleep but it was a relief that she is a mom of 3 and didn't make me feel awkward having him with me. I wouldn't bring an unruly child or screaming baby in because that's just rude but my situation worked out perfectly. Love the cut, loved Ra'Nae, loved the atmosphere. She was so sweet (didn't gasp in horror when I told her it had been 2+ years since I'd last had a haircut), and showed me several ways I could style my new cut.
