I was actually surprised they were able to get me in the next day. Already on the right track! When I arrived, the parking was easy, and I loved the vintage Fort Bragg style small business .. Rachel was on time, professional, and knew exactly what products to use on my hair When I reclined back in the chair and she began to massage my scalp, I think I drifted off to heaven for a few minutes lol Five stars across the board. Rachel is the greatest! I miss my monthly trim. However, when you get an excellent haircut, it grows out into manageable new styles. I have been getting my haircut by Rachel for more than a year and will not go to anyone else. When I first saw her, I had totally butchered hair from an expensive salon in Mendocino. I showed her a picture of what I wanted and she gave me exactly that while also cutting my hair in such a way that was healthiest for my curls. Best hair cut I've had in decades! Rachel with Lather exceeds expectations on all levels! She's a compassionate human being, top-notch professional, a creative genius, immediate responder (to "emergency" texts, calls, beauty disasters --you name it!). As a wedding planner from out of the area, with last-minute bridal HAMU needs for a client; I was scrambling to find the perfect fit for a particular NYC-based bride, with high expectations (which I should mention were exceeded in every way by Rachel). With only hours notice, Rachel opened her availability (moving her schedule around) to accommodate my bride for a trial (which she nailed). Her calming presence also calmed the nerves of the bride who had gotten a haircut the day prior from another salon that brought her to tears (something else Rachel fixed with ease [and class + professionalism, I might add] as she evened out the cut, seemingly without taking much off at all, and without any unkind words/digs in the process --with would have been easy to do, given the obvious mistakes in the cut (even to my untrained eye). On top of all of this, she has the heart of an angel as the bride added her sister's makeup and my own makeup at the last minute and she did both services beautifully, promptly, and with ease (and a very generous price --especially given her quality of work). Rachel was fabulous! I have been trying to grow out a horrible cut and went to another hairdresser that was supposed to help fix it, but that didn't work. Rachel did what I asked her to do and we both looked at my hair at the end and knew it just wasn't right. I threw two sheets to the wind and let her do what she thought would work to finally fix the bad cut I had been living with for 9 months. My hair is terrific! My husband doesn't like short hair, but has complimented my hair probably 10 times in a 24 hour period. I really appreciated her spending more time to basically cut my hair twice to get it to sit well. She wants you to walk out of her salon feeling terrific and having the cut you want.
