I recently got a terrible haircut ELSEWHERE in town and it took months to grow out before I could get another decent haircut. Well, I got one and it was more than decent. It was the best haircut I've probably had in decades. Certainly, Sarah Marr gave me the best one I've had in this county (and I've been to many different places--salons and barbershops). I've finally found the person to cut my hair for as long as I live here (and I hope that's for a very long time). And, she's a great value! You'll see that she deserves a generous tip. I came in for a hair wash & dry because I'm in a cast that can't get wet. PROS: Took my appointment on short notice. CONS: Worst hair wash ever. She did the ends but never touched my roots or scalp. I really like the ambiance in here. Out of all the salons in FB that Ive been too, this one feels the most comfortable to me. It's really wide and open, bright and sunny from the big windows. I just feel good when I walk in. I'm sad that Olivia is gone, she used to do my hair, but now I've seen Lauren a couple times and she is such a doll! She did a great job with me yesterday, and I'll see her again. I also tan here and I like it. I like how I can just walk right in and not really have to talk to anyone. I mean, they greet me and ask if I'm going in for a tan, and I just sign in and go right into the booth. Only problem is, both times I've had my nails done here, it was a disaster. This place actually answered their phone when we called around looking for a place to do an up-do for a wedding. Compared to all the other salons in Fort Bragg that gives them BIG bonus points. We had scheduled (2) up-do for me and my friend. They were ready when we arrived right at 11:00 AM. Offered us some water and coffee and got right to it. My friend was done with her up-do in about 20 minutes and mine took about 30-40 mins (I have longer hair). Quick, professional, and it looked good. They even offered us some extra bobby-pins to keep in our purse in case something needed to be fixed. They even helped with the bride's hair a few nights before and the highlights and color looked great. read more

Gabriella came to my rental house to do my hair for my wedding. She was very calm important, did a great job of listening to my wishes, and was patient enough to do two trial runs with me! The end result was absolutely gorgeous. I couldn't imagine a more beautiful do! read more

Got a surprise appointment from my bf with Liv, I had done boxed hair dye for 10+years an currently had 6 month old roots grown out, by the time she was done with my hair an hair cut, I looked an felt like a whole new women. CAN'T NOT EXPRESS HOW AMAZING SHE WAS, AN THE MIRACLE SHE PULLED. For being fairly new in her career, Liv is very talented and I can't not wait for my next appt. I will not be going be going back, ever ! My hair turned out ok, far from great and not really what I had asked for. But the biggest problem was the bitchy gossipy attitude in the shop. I was totally amazed when I asked about the owner (so I could call and explain my unhappiness with all the 'bad talk' I was forced to listen too) and found SHE WAS THE ONE DOING MOST OF THE BAD MOUTHING ! I know salons are known for being a place of a little gossip, but this was ridiculous ! It is a small town and your customers know the people and businesses you are talking about, not a good business practice. As a small business owner myself, I want to gain loyal customers from great service and a great product and 'honest word of mouth', not from bad mouthing others in town. I recently went here for a hair cut and color. I am growing out my grey hair and wanted to color the ends grey to match my roots. Olivia did a magnificent job! She skillfully matched the color and gave me a great haircut. The shop was clean and comfortable. Everyone was very friendly. I would definitely recommend this shop. read more

Went there for my first bikini wax! Pretty much the only place in town that speaks English and provides bakini waxing. Lois -ann was my esti and she was great. Great personality, made me feel very comfortable being naked and spread out hehe. You can tell she has been waxing for years, she is quick and precise. I don't even know where to begin...Jennifer is, in one word, amazing. I have gone to her now for almost a year and at first I started off just having her get my facial waxing under control. That in itself is something she does with precision and care. She is meticulous and always gives me great skin care advice. She sprays the air with what seems like magic potions, massages my face with luscious face lotions and serums, and I leave feeling like a new woman. Several months ago I got my first facial with her. If you have ever had a facial, or haven't yet treated yourself, pick up the phone, dial 707-964-7014, make an appointment for the European facial with Jenny, then pace the floor in anticipation until your appointment date. Run, don't walk to the phone. It will be the best $60 (don't forget to tip) you have EVER spent. We all deserve to be pampered, we all deserve to have someone be genuinely interested in our skin, and Jenny is that person! From the lighting, to the decor, to the music and products she uses, you will spend an hour in utter tranquility and leave feeling like you're walking on air. First time there for a haircut. I came in with a friend a couple of days before, asked the price of their haircuts, and made an appointment. The cut was OK, but when I went to pay, the price had gone up! I paid and left, but won't be going back. The other problem was the stylist's lack of attention. During my hair cut she carried on a longish conversation with another client, to the point that I was worried that she wasn't paying attention to my haircut. Then, when I wanted to pay and leave, she was on the phone with yet another client, and kept me waiting while she finished her conversation. I left feeling definitely un-pampered. read more

The Beauty Bar totally saved me! A couple days before my wedding I received a horrible dye job that bled through the foils and looked awful. I was absolutely devastated. I called the Beauty Bar and told them of my problem. They squeezed me in after hours and miraculously fixed my hair. It looked amazing! They did a wonderful job with my nails as well. read more

Had an experience with the young man that does the men's cuts and I have to say his skills were very weak and I won't be going back or recommending the beauty bar for men's cuts. Left tons of long hairs, blending was not smooth, didn't even look like a hair was cut to be honest. Would recommend a little more practice on you're buddies before you go trying to cut the publics hair. I know my business will stay with Mike at the hair group and I will be steering people clear of here. read more
