She gave me the number and I booked an appointment within 2 weeks. I have short hair and it seems that every place I go people are scared to cut it. I always walk away feeling like I didn't really have a haircut. Lather salon is in Coeur d'Alene and it's a bit of a drive for me but Aubrey did a fantastic job. I get highlights and low lights that need to be meticulously blended and layers with bangs that make the color and cut more difficult. I completely trust her and her skills! I am so happy to have found this place! when you walk in the decor is fabulous it is neither tacky or overwhelming but instead a wonderful cool baby blue with a relaxing atmosphere. They have Dermalogica, bumble and bumble, and R+Co. The owner of the salon would not make an exemption to me not being able to wear a mask. Nowhere on their website or social media does it say that masks are required with NO exemptions. If a business chooses to NOT make exceptions, it needs to be stated clearly so people who can't wear masks don't waste their time. The stylist was super nice, but the owner was unwilling to listen. I have a legitimate exemption so I do my research before I choose to take my business somewhere. Most owners are very understanding. I'm very disappointed in my experience here. read more

Aubrey destroyed my hair. I took a picture of a cute haircut and she made it seem like it was no big deal to replicate it. What a mistake that was! I had to go have it fixed elsewhere and the person who cut my hair said it was a very bad cut! Aubrey also left bleach on my hair for 45 minutes! She left me under the heater and then vanished. Lather is a fabulous salon! Stylish, comfy, and it has all the amenities of a big city salon. I am sure all the stylists here are great they take great care in what they do and you can tell they enjoy being there. Tami is a fantastic lady who did wonders with my highlights and hair cut. She is the type that will make small suggestions on what would look good which is exactly what I like. Not overbearing "lets cut it all off and dye it black" but small things that make it an even better experience. She was in my book amazing. Rhonda is great too, my boyfriend went there after one too many bad hair cuts at the chain salons. I had a really bad experience with my eyelashes. It was already bad enough when the lady started, she said she would have to rush through because she needed a break. I completely understood so I trusted she'd do a good job. Then she mentioned I had very thick lashes and she was kinda nervous with the amount of time we had. My lashes didn't look the way I wanted them too, they hurt when she was finished and were swollen a couple of days after. And for the next four days, they just kept falling out! I was very unhappy with the job so I called and texted asking her to fix them and she was going to charge me for a fill. I spent a lot of money and tipped her a lot too because she was super nice, but I had to take my lashes out because they were crossing and scrambled and they had hurt individually. And I wasn't about to pay the same person to fix them. I believe this is the only lash lady they have because they wouldn't even let me pay for a fill through someone else. In this process, a lot of my lashes came out because there were three eyelashes attached to each lash she put on. I was very upset that I spent the money just to be unhappy for a month and regret it. I wouldn't reccomend coming here unless they take the three hours to make them look good. I wouldn't have minded sitting an extra hour and a half for better quality. I'm very sad about this experience and don't recommend coming here to get your lashes done. read more

After 3 separate bad experiences, once for my daughter and twice for myself, I have had to jump ship and start over with a new salon. The ladies at Lather are really nice, so I hesitate to leave a negative review. but I wish someone would have let me know before I invested a lot of time and expense only to be crushed by the result and scrambling for a qualified stylist to fix the problems. I think the biggest issue is that clients are rushed thru. Once, my haircut wasnt done the way I'd requested, like half done with the next client waiting. I assumed I'd not explained well enough, so I just scheduled with a different Lather stylist. This time the cut was right but the color wasn't. Again, I assumed I'd not been clear, so I scheduled a second color treatment. On this second visit, her next client came in as she was finishing putting the lift (bleach?) in my hair. She asked if I'd wait while she cut this other ladies hair "real quick". As 25 minutes passed I began to get nervous with the treatment in my hair. Finally she rinsed and put in the toner, but only left it in a couple minutes as she was rushing between myself and her other client. I left with wet hair, and it wasn't until it dried that I could see how incredibly brassy it was. Bright orange and more like an home than belayage. I had an event that weekend and called Lather almost in tears. The manager said my stylist would call me to figure out how to fix it, but she never did. I ended up getting very lucky by finding Diane at Embellish who got me in right away and fixed my color. This ended up being a $340 cut & color. The experience with my daughter was a belayage that was literally invisible. When I called, my stylist said "oh yeah, her type of hair won't show a belayage, you need highlights". Why would she not have mentioned that before? So she put in a few highlights no charge, but it was still so subtle that even her best friends had to be told she'd had it done. Very disappointing for a lengthy & expensive treatment. Do yourself a favor and find a salon that takes better care of you. read more

Nails by Stephanie- Had to recently find a new nail tech and am so pleased with Stephaine! She has a beautiful and relaxing area to provide services in. Have enjoyed the manin-pedi waterless treatment-loved it -very unique!! and routine nail care. Also, I appreciate her flexibility to work around my sometimes crazy schedule. The manicure/pedicure that I received thru Lather was NOT up to snuff. I was part of a 12 person bridal party event. It started at 8am and went until 2pm which was ridiculously long considering each person had 10 min. on both hands and feet maximum. For $55 each person we did NOT have our cuticles trimmed or calluses removed on either hands or feet. The nail beds were NOT properly cleaned so ALL of the wedding party had bubbles from the oil left behind post rub down(excuses were made that it was due to heat...so NOT the case). My two daughters had to go back 1 hour before the ceremony because both of their nails had chipped within 12 hours...ugh!!!!! If you are considering getting a service done at Lather stick with the hair and skip the mani/pedi you will thank me. Good luck finding a good mani in CDA. read more

Just read one of the reviews and I agree with Jennifer B - I had Kiela too and I loved the fact that I could easily book online with her as a referral from another friend. I'm glad I did. I hadn't had a proper cut in years and didn't really know what I wanted, so I basically told her to do what she thought looked best with some highlights. I got fine highlights and a layered cut that I love! I have heard about her special keratin treatments from more than a few people and want to go back for that now! Lather obviously hires talent. I've had good results with the hairstylists, but twice I've had my nails done there by two different people and both were awful. The second time around me and a bridal party went in together on a groupons for a mani-pedi with shellac nail product by Nails by Stephanie. WHAT A JOKE! I had to redo the brides nails that evening. The nail tech did one coat on one foot and then two on the other, and she completely missed spots. The product was applied so thick that it was bumpy after it cured. I will NEVER go again. All three of us had to redo some portion of our nails. The product is suppose to last upto 2 weeks, but we all had product lifting and peeling by the next day. What a joke for dishing out $135.00 for all three of us! read more

My cousin-in-law had gone to Lindsey and her hair (balyage) was GOREGOUS! Styled and perfected, just beautiful. I went in about a week later for the exact same balyage and left with 4 high lights, choppy bangs and length taken off that I did NOT ask for.... I continuously told my hair dresser, Michelle, how I wanted my hair. I showed her several photos (which I was not under the illusion it would look exactly like any of the pictures nor did I think it would look just like my cousin-in-laws) and kept telling her I wanted the bottom saturated with blonde and for it to gradually fade (ombre) to the top. Well, after hours of sitting in her chair, I left with 4 high lights I could have done myself with box dye from Wal-Mart.. I told her before I left that I was upset and didn't like anything about my hair and it wasn't what I wanted. She told be the best she could do was 3 more highlights another time and that she wouldn't fix it. Oh, and did I forget to mention that she promised to tone it and then told me I had to come back another time and spend even more money for that. My hair was also to the middle of my butt and she cut off almost 2-3 inches so it would "frame my face" Hello! My butt is NOT my face and I specifically said NO LENGTH OFF!!! I ended up calling the next day for my money back (which she also argued with me for about 15 minutes when I was honestly trying to be as nice as possible about the situation, even though I was extremely upset and let down). It was an all over terrible experience and if I ever decided to go back, I would never sit in her chair again. Sorry, not about to pay $180 on something I could have done myself... what a joke read more

I am new to the area and decided to use Yelp to find a hair salon. What a mistake!!! I asked for Tami based on the last reviewer. For 125.00 dollars I received blue hair with an underlying color of white and a horrific short hair cut which no one would want. When Tami first started my hair cut she asked me to remove my glasses which was a mistake because I could not see what was happening right under my nose! My hair went from light brown to white with a blue tint to it. Unfortunately I had to go to our Christmas party looking like this. I got a few laughs directed towards me which I did not appreciate. I went back the next day and they did give me a refund, now all I need is to go through the whole process again with someone that knows what they are doing!! read more
