This offers a wonderful variety of Latin American cuisines and dishes that taste very close to your parents and grandparents cooking. We enjoyed an Al fresco lunch starting with delicious empanadas and fruit juices. We ordered "country specific" trays and found the food to be very tasty and fresh. The service is very attentive and the place is comfortable and clean. The indoor dining area is small and well ventilated. We saw a lot of people getting takeout. I would return here. My couple of suggestions are for them not to always drop off plastic straws (ask if folks need straws) and offer bottled hot sauces rather than small servings served in plastic containers. I have not been to the Latin Bistro since pre Covid as they stopped making deliveries. My coworker stopped for lunch and I placed an order of chicken fingers and fries. The order came with two chicken fingers and the rest chicken nuggets. The nuggets tasted like they had been around for a little while. I wouldn't have mind but they tasted stale. The fries were greasy, like they had refried them. The service is always very good, the staff is friendly. The ambiance is very nice. I'm not sure what happened with todays meal. read more

I ordered the Shrip and Rice with a side of black beans. The first thing I noticed was how clean this place was when I walked in. The food came out hot and was delicious. Came here on one of my Fridays off for brunch time. I ordered the steak with eggs, rice and beans, plantains, and sausage. HUGE MEAL and I barely put a dent in it by myself, but so good and so satisfied my craving for something really hearty and delicious. There was so much rice, I had it for two more days at home! Lunch is always busy and the best offerings are what's available on the steam table. Delicious fare with generous portions. You can also order off the menu though those can be a bit more hit or miss. The menu shows "Colombian Bandeja" for 14.95, then I was charged $19....called them back, and they said Dish price was raised two years ago!!!....born and raised in Medellin, Colombia, I can tell this is a very mediocre dish/food, 60% of the dish is bland, tasteless white rice, awful canned beans, tree fried eggs (first time in my whole life I am served three fried eggs in a Bandeja Paisa) , small portions of carne Asada, chicharrón snd chorizo....I will not come back to this place. read more

Tried this Latin Bistro out for the first time and was definitely a fan. Food was very flavorful and the staff was very friendly. The wait time was also very reasonable , took about 7-10 minutes max. I had then Costa Rican platter and it was delicious. Comes with grilled chicken covered in sautéed onions, sweet plantain, salad with sliced beets in it, white delicious rice and black beans. Everything was tasty and the only one negative thing I can say is that the sautéed onions were just a bit too salty otherwise great dish. The prices are very reasonable as well, bill was $16.47 for the food, bottle of water and a large coffee. Great empanadas! Come here for lunch or a snack if you're at the park across the street. I also tried sweet corn pancakes and the tongue dish (lengua) with peppers and onions. Personally I don't like the flavor of peppers and onions, but the tongue was very tender and tasty. I hate to be a negative Nancy but the only reason I tried this place was bc of the great reviews and bc I had a craving for tostones. Pros- the food was flavorful and serve a good amount for a good price. Cons- although the steak had good flavor it was way too chewy and as far as the tostones it was a total disappointment they were hard as a rock thought I broke a tooth. Honestly came here because there aren't much options in Chatham/Madison area for Latin food. I was so pleasantly surprised by the authentic taste of the Cuban platter. Reminded me of my grandmas cooking. The portion size is crazy big and can feed 3 people in my opinion. Wasn't too much of a fan for the Colombian empanada I had on my drive home. This is a gem! This is what food is supposed to taste!! The person waiting the tables was perfect, it was the first time we were there and she gave us the time to get "acquainted" to the place and to the menu. We ordered and soon after our plates came: bandeja colombiana, bandeja cubana and pollo francés, you know that moment when you see what you are going to eat and it looks great and then the first bite doesn't disappoint. Well I got that eating there, a full compliment to the senses; quickly we got quiet and mostly without a word between us proceeded to eat our plates. If you want to be seen go somewhere else. Come for the food and stay for the conversation after. Parking is a bit of a problem, but is worth it. Trust me. This is a little hole in the wall restaurant with the most DELICIOUS food. It's a small place with about 8 or 10 tables and a few tables outside. There is no "decor" or "ambiance" but what there is is amazingly well cooked food, served in generous portions at a great price. The menu is a hard to see because it's small but there is a good selection. My son ordered a plate called the Costa Rica Platter. (See pic) and I ordered the Cuban platter ( see pic) ....OMG the Cuban platter was succulent roasted pork with so much flavor and even the rice was perfect. The Costa rican platter had steak and it comes smothered in caramelized onions. You need to look at pic. It was just delicious. Both dishes were under $12 each. We ordered empanadas $1 Each, A chicken and a beef and it came with a hot sauce that was really good. We also had a dessert called tres leches...I had to take that to go because the dishes were very generous. The dessert was YUMMY. Super moist and sweet but light. The food is horrible meaning BLAND! Yo I can't stress how bland it is. I was served COLD orange chicken and when I bit into it I smelled just chicken no flavors whatsoever. My rice and beans were cold too and the beans are canned beans. They had Colombian, Mexican, and other Latin pastries but I'm telling those pastries must've been bought from a third party distributor because I can guarantee you their asses ain't baking if their food is bland. The place doesn't even smell like food or as if you walked into a real Latin joint. The food is so good! The servings are huge, and the flavors are awesome. The place itself is a little small with a few tables to dine at inside and outside. I had the bistec encebollada (steak with onions) and I really wish I could go back for more. My hubby had pollo salteado, and it was also huge and delicious. Both food items came with 2 sides, and we opted for salad/tostones and salad/fries (though you can choose any 2!) We were there on a Friday afternoon, but the lunch special wasn't available anymore - I don't think they do it anymore?
