10/10 - Truly the best Colombian food around! Sabor de Mi Tierra is absolutely top notch. We've been coming here since the pandemic -- they opened just a week before lockdown, and we supported them with takeout back then. Once we were able to dine in, we've been coming back nonstop ever since. The food is incredible, hands down the best Colombian food in the area (and honestly much better than Noches -- less salty, more flavorful, and always consistent). Everything is on point whether you come for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. My go-to is the carne asada con arepa y queso, and my wife always gets the huevos rancheros. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu. The service is just as amazing as the food. Every single server is kind, welcoming, and so sweet. Our favorites are Liliana and Jennifer -- total sweethearts. The owner, Carlos, is wonderful too. Every time we walk in, we feel like family. So I was walking back from UPS and decided to stop in and grab a bite. Once I walked in, I was hit with the amazing sense of all the delicious food that was cooking. The atmosphere was welcoming and lively. I was greeted promptly by a friendly young lady at the front and she suggested that I try the beef empanadas. They only cost a few dollars so I went ahead and bought two. So as I walked to the car, which was conveniently parked in the lot behind the restaurant, I immediately unwrapped my empanada. At first, I thought it was going to be like other empanadas that I've tried which have a crispy shell however these empanadas are similar in a way, but are very different in texture. These empanadas are a bit softer on the outside and have a denser inside filling which include potatoes and beef and it was quite delicious. I thought I could eat both of them, but after one I was full. I will definitely be back to the restaurant since I'm always in that area and it's literally five minutes from where I live. Enjoyed my recent dinner here- the portions are huge so I opted for a side of sweet plantains (maduros) and shared a Bandeja Paisa which was massive and came with steak, two eggs, avocado, rice, beans, sausage, arepa and chicharron.. it was definitely enough for two people and we had enough leftovers for at least two breakfasts. Came here on a Friday night on my way home to order some food to go. There was parking in the back, which in that area, is always helpful. When I came in, there were a few patrons sitting down to eat. I ordered the grilled steak, which came with two sides. I had the white rice, bean sauce and opted for an additional side of tostones. I walked in and was pleasantly surprised by holiday decor but tastefully done, no overcrowding. The staff was friendly. I've had Colombian food before and at this specific restaurant but not this location. I've been to the one in Verona. I ordered the grilled salmon with plantains and yellow rice. All was good. Tried this place for the first time, and while that dish was not on the menu, the owner Carlos was gracious enough to ask the chef to make it special for me. I was very disappointed with my recent dining experience. The food was cold and overly salty. Our meat was tough, and the chicken soup my dad ordered had no chicken, just one carrot and half a potato. On top of that, our waitress didn't check on us even once during the meal. The place itself is definitely worth coming to. The food is not the best Colombian I've had but the service is so nice you want to always come back. From the moment you walk in the door you are greeted by a very hospitable and attentive staff of Servers. The overall ambience in the room adds to the overall inviting feel of the diningroom. Decorations are bright and colorful while reminiscent of the vibrant colors of Colombian culture and folklore. Most notably though, the food was delicious! Every dish served with thoughtful presentation, generous serving sizes and served expeditiously. Everyone in our party was thoroughly satisfied and satiated in full. Rainy cool Columbus Day Monday calls for a Lovely Columbian lunch by 3 Asians. Yes. that's right...it's all good with a kind and professional staff! After a year of its grand opening I finally I got to have dinner at "Sabor de mi Tierra". I have to say this place surprised me with its cleanliness, service and delicious food during these pandemic times. Came here with my girlfriend and my in-laws and had a great time. Clean disinfected tables, everyone following safety protocols due to Covid-19 and clean bathrooms. The menu had a nice variety of delicious options with pictures so you know what your getting. I got the bandeja paisa and it was so good! All the flavors were spot on and nothing bland or salty. Also with what my girlfriend got and my in laws also was very good! This place just opened up, so I will give it some leniency. We were seated immediately. Everyone in my family ordered a fruit smoothie, and they arrived immediately. Soon afterwards we ordered our main meals. It took over an hour from the moment we were seated to receive our food, which was extremely frustrating. We weren't the only table that hadn't received our food in a timely manner. Some people actually left cause they were so upset. Once we finally received our food, everything went much smoother. The palomilla was good, we weren't a big fan of the ceviche, and the chicharron was also good, I wish that had a main course meal that was chicharron with rice and beans!
